What's the max refresh rate you can push this to? My older EW2440 runs at 77hz
This helps me a lot! thank you! :D
Thank you!
Thank you for the informative video.
Great reviews as always.
Editing looks top notch I was surprised to see so low subscriber.. bro keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Thank you!
Comprehensive and in depth. Nice review. Gonna consider this.
However you might want to look into either dipping your audio, or cutting the frequencies around 1khz - 1.2khz of your BGM to a lower value.
Your voice and the BGM are fighting each other.
Great video!
Wow! Fantastic review Brad. Love your content
Thank you sir! It wouldn’t have happened without your help!
Home Theater Gamer always glad to help any way I can
Thank you for the video
Super review
Great review of the monitor!
Thank you! It was a lot of fun reviewing it. Still in awe at the HDR quality!
great review, may I ask if there's ghosting during ps4 gaming? thanks in advance.
thank you bBbBbBrrroooo!!!! putted in my Amazon whishlist for Black Friday, hope the price keeps falling down, slurp
You know you're doing well when the trolls start coming out of the woodwork. Lol. Keep up the great content.
what about the pixel density in this 1080p 27 inch monitor? Does it looks sharp enough? I'm between the 24 and the 27 inch 1080p options and I only have about 23 inches between my eyes and the monitor. Could you help with your opinion?
Hey, so I have my eyes on the 24 inch version of this monitor, and I wanted to know what's the sRGB and DCI-P3 coverage of the monitor and would you recommend it for video editing, photoshop usage and gaming? Thanks.
How's the pixalation on this 27" 1080p model?
What about color reproduction, vibrancy and clarity while gaming and basic mm applications?
I am planning to upgrade from a 21.5" Dell to this but am confused about these issues.
I know the pixalation issues do crop up when the ppi is around 82, but is that very distracting?
Are the colors washed out or clear when gaming?
Did you play Doom on PC? If you did, did you notice any screen tearing when fps goes above the refresh rate?
What about text clarity? Does FHD on 27" affect views ie., pixelated if you're sitting near (2ft) to the display?
I'm looking for a monitor for ps4 pro. Do you think this monitor is worth considering since this is the only HDR monitor at this price range. Or should I check out non HDR ones like LG 24M88
I hate to ask this but what settings did you find best all around for gaming? Just bought this as a 3rd monitor for my Switch, thanks and fantastic review.
Thanks for the compliment! I got you covered. Check out the pinned comment I just posted. It should have all the settings you need to dial it in (minus audio settings. Those are HIGHLY subjective. Tweak those to your taste if using the built-in speakers).
How is this monitor performing? I saw some slowness while gaming on console in some reviws .
Plz tell me did you feel some input lag and ghosting?....help me
Hey👋
I’ve had no issues with input lag and ghosting, be it either on console or PC. Even games that are 30fps feel tight and responsive, though keep in mind 60fps games will always feel better and smoother than 30fps.
Really informative video thanks....just to know if i can switch the refresh rate to 60hz if required? Or it is 75hz fixed? Need to know for a very specific reason.
@Ani Chatt Thanks for the comment. The monitor can be switched to 60Hz if needed, and I believe it also defaults to that refresh rate in Windows 10. You have to go in and change it to 75Hz.
@@HomeTheaterGamer much appreciated. Thanks
this is the review that got me to order this monitor, I can't wait for it to arrive! hope the HDR works on my standard PS4
Could you report on your experience with this monitor?
@@main_stream_media_is_a_joke I love it!
@@dzeccc9239 Thanks a lot for your reply.
I am planning to upgrade from a 21.5" Dell (which I absolutely love) to this monitor but am confused about the below mentioned issues.
The main reason for upgrading is to get more real estate of the 27" display...as I am absolutely happy with "just" 1080p resolution.....not to mention less stress on my gfx card and way lower cost vs a 1440p display.
1) How's the pixalation on this 27" 1080p model? I know the pixalation issues do crop up when the ppi is around 82 (for a 1080p/27" display), but is that very distracting? Are you able to see individual pixels from say about 2 feet?
2) What about color reproduction, vibrancy and clarity while gaming and basic mm applications? Are the colors washed out or clear when gaming?
Hey great review, nvidia has a driver for freesync monitors since 417.71 update, which lets GeForce graphics cards tap into the Adaptive Sync capabilities of AMD FreeSync monitors. V-sync must be turn on in nvidia panel and turn off in game. Have you try that yet? Thanks
Unfortunately it won’t work on this monitor as it requires a DisplayPort connection (which the EW2780 doesn’t have). Gsync compatibility won’t work over HDMI.
How were the black levels? I mostly play at night and know it won’t match a VA panel, but is it fairly good?
They’re pretty good. In a dark room with no lights on they aren’t as deep as a VA panel (like you said), but it’s on par with other IPS panels I have (AOC 27G2 and Dell se2717hr).
Hello, is that a little red lamp inside the sensor, or is it just a reflection, or it just got caught on camera? If there is a lamp.. is it annoying? Nice review :)
Thanks for the kind words! That blinking red light (which I believe is the intelligent sensor for brightness and color temperature) is only visible on camera, not by eye.
what is hdr?
and any update for the contender of this monitor in 2022?
Hey can this be a good choice for PS4 slim hdr gaming ??? 😐😐😐
Pros: 3 hdmi ports , low price, HDR and a brick (power supply) . Cons: Fixed stand :( Nevertheless, 1st on my buy list.
Mainly it's for PS4 Pro. Now, im still using my old monitor HP w2007.
Benq gw2780 , dell s2721hn or ASUS VA27EHE for coding?
For play my xbox one s 500gb is a good option?
this or ew3270u? thanks a lot
I bought Ew2480 for 156$ today! is it worth?
I cant choose which one to get between this one and the AOC 27G2. What one do you prefer?
me too brodi :/
In my country benq ew2780 is much cheaper. So it depends on your budget.
Will you review the 4k EW2780U...?
I currently don’t have plans to, but I will reach out to my contact at BenQ and see if they wouldn’t mind lending me that monitor to review. I think it could be a viable option for the Series X and PS5.
I'm confused about this HDR Monitor. Do I need to enable Windows 10 HDR? bc if not the monitor says HDR EMULATED. But the color is washed out on the reLIVE Record screen whenever Windows HDR is enabled.
How to enable did you find?
Doe anyone know how the reaction time is on a PS4 Pro? Like the MS?
Wouldn't worry about that stuff. Unless you're competing for money, then grab a reputable TN panel gaming monitor with low input lag and motion blur. Otherwise just get what suits you the best, ie monitor size, inputs, etc.
How is the color accuracy for this one? Is this also good for video editing?
It’s ok. I wouldn’t use it for any serious color correction or grading though, unless you’re comfortable relying solely on scopes.
Is this an IPS panel?
Hii! Did you try hdr with xbox series s?
Update: Try Amazon fire stick( HD ) to see HDR content on this monitor. Observation: On RUclips , 4k on same monitor(windows) looks dull than 1080p with HDR on firestick .
Do you know if the HDR feature of this monitor would work with a PS4 Slim?
Its work?
@@antoniovilla92 yes
Is the monitor good for watching RUclips?
Is it good for the ps4?, does it come with an audio output for speakers?
It works great with the PS4. It does have a headphone jack you could connect to speakers.
Dont need speakers this monitor have very good quality inbuilt speakers
Which would you recommend.. This Monitor or the LG 25UM58 Ultrawide Monitor. Very confused between these two.. my usage would be video editing and website design.. very less gaming..
Productivity monitor... You can look up Ultra wide range...
Asus VA27EHE vs BenQ EW2780 which is better all around? please let me know
Ben 10 is always
Everything is cool.
Do you think 1080p is a high enough resolution for a 27inch monitor?
Absolutely.
Sir , can i use this monitor for video editing please inform me, i want a monitor for doing photo and video staff so i need your help.
You can, it’s just not ideal. BenQ doesn’t list the sRGB coverage of this monitor, they only list NTSC coverage at 72%. That isn’t the greatest for color grading but it’s ok unless you’re doing professional work for clients or you job. For RUclips and stuff it’s fine.
Keep in mind that the EW2780 is touted as a budget entertainment monitor that can be used for other things, and it does have a pretty decent HDR picture. For the price I do think it’s a great buy, but if you’re serious about color accuracy in photos and videos, you will need to step up to a higher end monitor.
@@HomeTheaterGamer so can I use benq 2700q please help me sir.
Absolutely. That’s a much better fit for photo and video production and has 100% sRGB coverage. I’d recommend that in a heartbeat.
can i watch youtube videos in HDR on windows with this monitor..i'm planning to buy it from amazon
You sure can!
@@HomeTheaterGamer thinks for reply.. Much appreciated
Is good for ps4?
What about the black level? As deep as a good VA panel?
Bro, i just got my monitor today. Black level are bad when HDR is set to off. It gets better when you turn it on. I prefer the cinema HDR coz it's not too bright. Plus the speakers are ok. I'll give it a 9/10.
@@mr.boombastictm4080 Any problem with play 4K protected contents because of HDCP 2.2? And is there any backlight bleeding(in dark environment)? BTW thanks for your response bro...👍
@@PaperBoat. yes there are backlight bleeding but nothing remarkable. For an IPS it is pretty normal. I still give it a 9/10. I'm not fond of watching 4k bro. I haven't tested that out yet.
@@mr.boombastictm4080 bro, I'm still getting confused between BenQ EW2780 (IPS panel, low native contrast ratio but has HDR) and MSI Optix MAG241C (VA panel, not HDR but has high native contrast ratio) monitor...😑 Which will be better?🤔
@@PaperBoat. i'd go for the HDR, bro. IPS and HDR on this monitor is just perfect combo.
Hi friend, this is led monitor or lcd monitor ??
LED.
This monitor doesn't hav display port & vga port,
It has 3 hdmi ports,
How to connect dis monitor wid PC ?
HDMI.
Firs you says that this monitor hasn't FreeSync (2:31), than that it has (6:09).... It has or hasn't support FreeSync?
It does have Freesync. At 2:31 I say it does with a range of 48-75Hz. However, it does not support G-Sync though which is NVIDIA’s proprietary technology and not the same as Freesync.
@@HomeTheaterGamer And will this monitor work with AMD Freesync via the Hdmi port on the Nvidia Gefors 1060 video card? (Pascal)
Unfortunately HDMI isn’t supported by G-Sync.
Hello, Sir. May I ask is the HDRi real?
Sort of. At 250 nits peak brightness, the tone mapping is pretty aggressive. HDR looks great most of the time, but it does lack that POP to the highlights.
@@HomeTheaterGamer better this or the LG27GL650 then?
0:01:17, 0:1:42 please tell me how to make that flashing led.
That’s just something that happens when filming from a certain angle. That LED is always flashing. We just can’t see it with our eyes.
@@HomeTheaterGamer You meant it is the reflection from your camera and not from the monitor sensor. Please reply me cause i'm confused.
Would this be good for a ps5
I mean, it would work, but honestly for the PS5 I’d go for at least a 1440p monitor unless you’re on a very tight budget.
Is it good for video editing
It will work. However, for color correction you may want to go with a monitor that has better sRGB or DCI-P3 coverage.
Thanks
How many takes was that? damnnnnlol
Ah yes. My “edit out every breath” phase haha. Rewatching this now and I can’t believe I thought “this is fine.” Needless to say, I don’t edit this way anymore.
This or Lg 27ml600 ?
same question
Same question too
why dont these fucking companies use diaplayport!?!?!?!
