Very good video. Didn't have to get past a over planned intro. Right to the fun. Good editing. watched the whole vid. Thanks for showing what you do with it.
Well done mate woohaaa! It's amazing how much traction these things have when you air down I was blown away by 790R and how it hooks up I usually run a nominal 30psi on and off road very tempting to get a DUKE as well have the best of both worlds happy trails cheers
Great ride.... it's crazy how much the GoPro takes away the hight feeling when you drive... looks like normal road until you mount the camera on the ground and drive past it :-) Keep it up! Cheers from Norway
Thanks. It's especially tough to get decent footage in midday sun under the trees. Trail details tend to get obscured by the sharp contrast between where the sun hits the trail and the shadows. I should have switched to pro-tune and used a flat color profile. I was running on full auto with gopro color setting and it's very contrasty and saturated which compounds the problem in dappled sunlight. Tried to correct it a bit but was too blown out to do much with it.
Hi Mattias: As I recall it was Rally mode, w/Street throttle response, and TC set around 6 maybe? I play with the settings but that's where I often end up.
Hey James. Great video! Was that Dunkle Hollow Rd and then Union Springs Rd? I see you ended up on Reddish Knob. Did you take FlagPole Knob to it or Briery Branch Rd after taking Union Springs down? Thanks. Peter
Hi Kevin, The handguards are KTM Center Reach Probend Handguards (Made by Cycra). The mirrors are CRGs. Rottweiler sells them with a handguard mounting kit.
Yeah, I probably sit more than I should. It's a work in progress. I tend to sit unless I have to stand. Sometimes that helps me conserve energy, sometimes it makes things harder than they need to be. ;)
@@Windblown sitting fatigues your body as much as standing does when riding offroad. I use to stand going up hills and sit going downhill but after learning that footpeg weighted steering is so much better, I now stand most of the time...Adventure riding requires fitness so sure.
It' has had a few rocks ping off of it yet remains undamaged so far. It is very thin though so I'm keeping my eye out for alternatives. I don't need or maybe even want "bomb proof" if that would mean the engine or frame could be damaged before the plate gave. I'd rather replace the skid plate occasionally than replace a frame or motor. It will be interesting to see what alternatives show up on the market.
Are you sitting or standing on the rocky sections? If you are sitting, how does the shock/fork feel hitting sharp obstacles with your bodyweight on the seat?
Bit of both. The shock is a little stiff on hard hits while seated. I've shifted to standing more. Also want to get the shock redone and get a bleed drilled into the valve to make it a bit more plush on trail chop.
I chose the 790 because for the combination of comfort and off road ability. The bigger bikes I've owned like the 1190R and 800XC are more of a handful offroad and heavier to pick up, though they are also a bit more comfortable on road. I owned an adventurized KTM 690 but never really clicked with it for long range exporation rides, just the wrong set of compromises for me. I still have a plated 250XC-F for local woods and forest roads. If the Yamaha T7 had been available when I got the 790 I would have taken a hard look at it as well.
@@motovloggingwithvman2188 Ah! LOL. Many US owners have picked theirs up. However many more still trying to find one. They seem to be very scarce at the moment,. I have no inside knowledge, the internet rumor is whatever is here is all the US gets for this model year.
20 PSI if I'll be off pavement for awhile. 35 front/36 rear on pavement. Still experimenting with pressures on these tires. I suspect I could safely go lower off-pavement. Might raise pressure in the front some more for on pavement.
I put a new one on for a trip and ran it on a mix of pavement and offroad for 8k miles. I made sure to keep the pressure up when on the road (36PSI). I managed to get home without having to replace it but it was well and truly shot. It's about the longest lasting fairly aggressive front tire for heavy bikes IMHO. I still prefer the Pirelli Scorpion Rally front tire for muddy situations however I don't get a lot of miles out of them. About 2K to 3k miles max if I'm very careful with street pressure and they don't stick as well on the pavement as the Rallz front.

I find the bike very predictable off the pavement. Get's me where I want to go. :)
Damn thats so awesome
pretty cool!
Definitely wouldn't want to bring a soda in your lunch on that ride. Looked like fun.

We got to go ride, but you have to be gentle with me im really bad offroad. What do you wear while riding?
Hey, I bought an Arai helmet with the exact same color graphics...😃😃😃.
Greeting from Indonesia...🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
Like a Pogo stick!
Nice job on the rocky trail, I can cope with that this bike is very forgiving! What ride mode did you use?

@@Windblown yeah, i do the same. Toggle between 3-6, most often TR street. But I also use Offroadmode when it gets muddy.

Briery Branch.
where did you get handguards with mirrors , what make are they?

Stand up more and steer with your feet weighting on the footpegs and your riding will improve heaps. Good trial

Is the bike available for sale here in the US? Freind looking for it in Texas
Digging it way too much to sell it.
@@Windblown I meant at the dealerships 😁

Where is that?
In and around the GW National Forest west of Harrisonburg VA.
Where is SkidMark Lake?
It's actually "Skidmore" aka Switzer Lake. Audio wasn't very clear in the video. it's located west of Harrisonburg -

Motoz RallZ front & Rear
