240 is one of my favorite roads through there. Nice to see it with someone else driving for a change. All that rock got put in the trailhead spur to fill in the puddles. We did a cleanup of the 240/ Long run crossroads area- thank you for the “be respectful” bit, wish everyone had the same motto.
Might be a little rough on the belly pan plastics in a couple of spots... But heck yeah! I've run this loop on an SMT. Can't recall if I ever did it on my old first gen Concours or not though. :)
Really nice lanscape. That trail looks awesome! Any overnighters? I har a 3 Days adventure ride this weekend. 1000Km's went to the area of lake Siljan in Dalarna, Sweden. Love to get out on these adventures. Cheers!
Here is a link to googlemaps which shows the loop in the video in green. Other unpaved roads/two track in the area in yellow, and a few paved roads that help connect them together in blue. Let me know if the link works. www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1KD76NmaF5M47KnNsU6IxnUq99t3WX9UO&usp=sharing
Hi, The forest roads are only open to plated vehicles. However their is an OHV area just outside of Edinburg VA called Taskers Gap which is open to ATVs and dirt bikes. You'll need to pick up a day pass to ride it which can be obtained at either gas station in Edinburg. Here's a couple of vids from a few of the trails at Taskers if you're unfamiliar with the area. ruclips.net/video/U1zWv1ATfhQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/eUhtbbN1hKM/видео.html
@@Windblown thanks for the information. I looked at the KTM 890 in Fredericksburg the other day. Was surprised how big it is. I know you have the 790, but can’t believe how well you get around on it. Dad lives in WV near the coal field ride you did (Beckley). beautiful area.
@@gycharlie Thanks. Can't hide the mass completely but it's a well balanced bike and very predictable which helps keep from getting caught off guard and suddenly having to fight the weight.
Indeed. Especially the northern half which they have graded and widened. The southern portion below Gauley Ridge is not too different. Same with Union Springs. Though with all the traffic they are getting this year it may be more challenging by fall.

Looks like good riding. I bet the Fall season is spetacular
Road this yesterday, very nice. Great day, thanks for the gpx file.
Looks like a good loop for the FJR. 😎

Yes, they allow dispersed camping in the forest. Plus they have a few campgrounds in the area. I would love to visit Sweden some day!
I guess I don't really need to ask if that was skippii...
Indeed. Not too hard to pick out of a crowd. :)
Nice ride. Did you swap bars? Those look like they have a lot less sweep than the stock bars.
Sorry fore the very delayed response! Yes I did. I am running OEM bars off of a '18 KTM 250XC-F. Lots less sweep as you mentioned.
Great video. I see the start of the loop. Where did you exit from Long run road?

Vepco used to be rougher than it is now.
