This video was so helpful, so I want to add in my gratitude for posting it. I had the same issue on my 2018 SAS bike. I fixed it as follows: Disconnected the battery (-ve) for 15 mins. Reconnect and then take the bike out for a long ride. After 5 or 6 miles the error should go away. Continue riding for as many miles as possible (about 35 miles should do it), then switch off the bike and switch it back on after 15 secs. No more error messages and the rear light starts working again. Seems to be caused by low battery voltage which upsets the ABS module. It's a KTM thing.....
Local dealer informed me it’s a calibration issue that occurs after long periods of no use. They offered to reset it for me and on the ride there it cleared itself. I’d barely used the bike and only for short journeys. After about 8 miles was when it sorted itself.
saw a few comments here about the issue after bike had sat for awhile, maybe 1.5 - 2rys. I'm in the same situation with my 2016 Superduke. Those that had their bike in storage for that time, were your brake levers really spongy/soft as well? I just got done changing oil/filter today and ran out of time to take it out for a spin, but when i was pulling the front brake lever and pushing rear brake pedal while parked, they were extremely soft. They were fine before the bike sat and there has been no fluid leaks.
I had the same issue after washing my bike today (June 17, 2022). I removed the switch, removed the blue rubber "boot" that protects it, sprayed a little electronics lube (CRC 2-26) into it, and clicked it in and out with my finger about a dozen times. When I reinstalled it, it worked intermittently, then seemed to improve as I rode the bike. I'm gonna play with the switch again tomorrow, but I'm confident I can get it working again, without having to replace it to the tune of $50! EDIT: This is why I don't wash my bike!
Remove the switch; remove the li'l blue boot that covers the little black "button"; using a lube/cleaner like Deoxit or the previously mentioned CRC 2-26, push the "button" using the end of the red applicator tube and squirt a small amount of fluid into the switch; click/work the switch several times with your finger; remove the nut and pivot pin that hold the brake lever in place; clean the the pivot shaft thoroughly and smear some grease onto it - I used a product called "Super Lube"; reinstall the lever and the pivot pin and nut; reinstall the brake light switch. You're welcome!
I have the same issue. I changed the switch and measured on the ECU that there is signal. I drove it for an hour and braked hard several times to activate the ABS. The bike has been stored for 1.5 year so i guess it should be a similar storage problem as you had.
The local dealer says it’s a calibration issue that needs resetting and then the bike needs riding to complete it, but I don’t know the details. Mine solved itself after a longer ride than I had been doing following a long period without use.
@@Rwecosher Today Dealer called me and they fix the problem as same as you said. Calibrated ABS ECU ride it 10min up to 50km/h and use front and rear brakes several times. Then they shutdown the engine wait 15min then there is no any problem at bike. 🖖🏻 thanks for the video and your response.
Hi My friend, could you solve this porblem?. I have the same problem, afetr a very long time periods of no use I think is the issue mentioned for RWecosher

@@Rwecosher thanks mate!
@@Rwecosher How long did you have to ride before it cleared itself?

My front brake switch error is also coming on. Where the brake like remains stuck on. What did you end up doing?
Mine does the same, did you get it sorted in the end?
I have The Samet problem on my 1290 adv s 2019 last 4 weeks KTM service investigation on problem. Not resolved it yet.

have the same fault found by holding the break lever in and hold it clears
