Dude.... You got some balls going solo in bumfug nowhere over that rough ass terrain on that big bike ..... Tip of the visor to ya , brother ! 💪 Awesome riding 👍
I noticed from McKendree Road at the start and what looked like Coal Rive trails at another point. I live in South Charleston and this would make a great 3 days weekend trip!
Three days would be just about perfect and allow a some time for additional exploration. There is some pretty nice camping along the route in places as well.
@4:32 when you say "Wonder where that is?" I recognize it. There is an unkept graveyard there. I also recognized the guard rail on Mc Kendree rd and thought the same thing. Why a guardrail there of all places?
The 690 would open up some more exploring possibilities while in the area for certain. It was an 800 mile weekend on the bike though. I appreciate the comfort of the 790 when it's time to crunch miles! :)
Wow great ride. That trench looked like it gave you a workout. I'm learning that I should put the Virginias on my riding bucket list. Any suggestions for other good trails down that way?
Hey Windblown, just came across this and good to see ya. Just finished (most of) WABDR and IDBDR on my DR. Rode with a 790 guy some of the way. I did some of the iMAT (Infamous Monongahelia Adventure Trail) routing on my WR250R this summer. The Tour de Coalfields must be a different thing? I’ll be back in Virginia soon. Maybe we can do a ride. DragonJoe.
How the heck are ya! Man, you and that DR are getting around. That's awesome you got to ride more out west. I'm not familiar with the Imat. Picked up this route from www.adventurehorizons.com I'm heading out to the SW US on the bike soon. I will be back mid November at the latest. Maybe we'll get n Indian Summer. Be great to get out for a ride with ya.
Windblown , yah, DR has been good to me. The GPX tracks for iMAT can be found here...www.infamousadvroutes.com/ Some good loops close to home in WV. Mostly East of Beckley.
I figured someone would catch that. ;) That's a MTC Failure" message caused by the fact that I was running my offroad wheelset which I don't run an ABS ring on the rear wheel on. When the bike detects no input from the rear ABS sensor the warning pops up. The reason I don't have an ABS ring on the rear on this wheelset is that having it removed is an automatic way to keep both ABS & TC disabled. I can dismiss the warning banner if I remember to hit the back button on the control after starting the bike. Sometimes I did, sometimes I didn't, which is why it appears in the video only some of the time.

Nice one! Allways nice to see an advrider inmate's face 😁💪
Thanks. Yep, decided to take the leap and step out from behind the mask. :)
Windblown thats cool! Hope i can get out on a ride tomorrow before missus say its time to het out with the camper 😂👍🏻
Great video and props to you my friend!
Favorite line is @14:10…. “We’re in it now!” Great video! See you out there!
Great vid....looking forward to riding this!
It's a fun ride with a bit of everything mixed in.

Well after reviewing the GPX file it's definitely not the Coal River trails. I can't wait to ride this one when spring breaks!

Great video! This area is a true gem of riding and history.
I’m having trouble getting the file to download to basecamp. Is there a trick or am I doing something wrong?
It is a compressed file. You will have to unzip it first.
Cool video nice riding too
Great videos! Looking forward to seeing more, and may just run into you in WV somewhere!

Beautiful ride!
Cool vid man. I dig how you chopped it up the way you did, and that the route looks like alot of fun!! Seems like that 790 is workin well for ya!
Thanks. It's a lot longer than my usual videos but wanted to give folks a good feel for the route.
Its defitely on my list for early next season. Have tonplan a few extra days and see where those other forks go
@@mikeschleicher6114 For sure seems like there is a lot more too see in the area. A good amount of dispersed camping opportunities as well.
Great looking ride! Those big bikes get heavy when harsh conditions arrive🤔 Would like to take my 690 on that ride, and leave my 1090 at home.

Windblown 690 is good everywhere but the highway! Love it everywhere else👍
Hey man awesome ride. Just curious about what mods you’ve done to the exhaust. Sounds amazing
Thanks! I put an Arrow Decat on it. I'm still running the stock end can. Gives it a bit more bark.
@@Windblown cool. Thx for replying 🤟🏼🍺

The east coast BDRs would be an awesome way to make your way down from Maine to to Virginia! ridebdr.com/
@@Windblown that site is awesome. Thanks so much.

What is the pink error message we keep seeing off and on at the bottom of the dash?

What kind of navigation do you use to find the one lane roads and trails
Google earth, online research, turning down any road or trail that looks promising. :)
Do you have this ride mapped out?
Hi Steve, I downloaded the route from the link in the description.
What handguards do you have?
These are the Cycra handguards.
What bark busters are those you have installed and where can I get them? -thanks.
They are Cycra Probends. They have changed the design a bit since I bought these.
@@Windblown thanks again!
