Hi, the main difference is the cut. Levi's redid the 501's for a more "modern" cut than what they made in 1984. LVC even makes a reproduction of the 1984 501's I saw. They'll ride a bit higher than a modern 501. It's small differences but a different fit than ones you buy today.
Great work! Always great content. Keep teaching us about these vintage gems. Thanks
Thanks!
I like that fade on the worn pair. I bet the new stuff doesnt fade the same way!
No, they don't. Not without some cone denim!
Loved out m43 jacket
I have had several pairs of the shrink to fit. Not since the mid-'90s, though, in London.
you should pick up another pair!
Correct me if I am wrong but to find out the year and month, you'll have to look at the "036" number. So it would be March 86.
Someone else said April 1985
you deserve much more subscribers !
Thanks!

Any way you could compare them to a modern pair of 501s or explain the significance of them being a 1984 pair?

Interesting, I used to buy Levi’s and Wranglers at Sheplers, they had some good sales. I’d buy many pairs at once.
The wash tag say 45, it's means April 1985, not 1984
Thanks!
Please school me lol but Those dead stock Levi’s are not from 1984. It says 135 years on the second tag. Doesn’t that make these a 2000s pair?
That’s a very interesting point. I really don’t know
