Looks like a made some new 'friends' with my little joke about a4 vs. s4! Please understand this was meant to be a playful joke - I'm a big fan of the 3.0 s4. And honestly it's a better car in every possible way, no way around it. Hopefully we can still joke with each other without taking things so seriously (no I'm definitely not rich, or pretending to be). Thank you to my close friends with S4s for being good sports and not hating me 😂
Lol those S4 owners are dicks! I know cause I am one of them Bahahahaha In all seriousness though. Dude you’re doing what many only wish they could do. Modding and hot rodding is as old as cars themselves, BUT!!! It doesn't matter what the car is, so much as your enjoying what your doing. Anyone can pay someone to do the work for them, but when you talk to owners at meets and shows, oh yah you know the guys who do the work themselves, their enthusiasm and pride show when you ask them about their ride. Keep up the great work! Side note. I had a B7 A4 (first Audi) I have always been a VW guy, after owning an Audi, oh yah there is a difference.
Better. Buddy I got the 2.0t over the S4 for better balance and lighter nose for track. This is where the A4 is better for handling. My A4 current state feels like a GT3 RS where as the S4 feels like a street saloon which is what it is.
Being newer in this community I was surprised to find the lack of documented content for builds at this level. Thank you for trailblazing this and documenting it so well. Congrats!
It takes just as much time if not more to film and edit as it does to install. Trust me, when you're in a build this in depth, that's the last thing you want to do. Huge props to Flink for taking the time and considerable amount of effort to do both for our benefit.
couldn’t have said it better myself when you said “the b8 a4 community is bigger than i thought.... go online and search audi vlog, there is none” thank you! please keep the progress, loooking forward to season 2!!!!

ECS turned my 2 day A4 project into 4 months this summer... I felt your pain the whole build. Thanks for pushing the A4 community further. I am hoping in a year or two big turbo builds will be much more common with a lot of the weak links sorted out.
ECS dropped the ball on my project too. Was going to order an injen air intake and a resonator delete pipe but had a month wait time. Found the exact same parts at another no name website and got the parts in 3 days. Cheaper too. Saved 50 bucks on the air intake.
@@FlinkFilms Yeah for sure, can't pull a donut media and put a big turbo on a car and forget to do fuel modifications! Excited for season 2, keep up the good work. Also your film making and editing is top notch, seriously, great work.

From another black B8 A4 owner, I love seeing this content. Currently running APR stage 2 with a few other goodies. Nothing to this extent but hopefully one day. Your an inspiration to others. Keep up the good work!
I love you dude. I have a 2010 a4 avant and I’m building the engine and am doing exactly what you did for your project. I love having something to guide. You were right it was frightening looking online and seeing no one doing what you want to do. Thank you for being the boost of motivation I needed for this car build. I love you dude. Never stop 💕
So happy to see it running! Been following along for a while now. Definitely would love to see more with the builds! Love the “S” dig too ;) keep it up
@@FlinkFilms lol, one engine and one transmission gear selector lever sensor later, it doesn’t feel that much fun anymore) it had the trans pulled out 2 times during my ownership, one time by the shop to get that sensor replaced and another time by myself to replace the clutch plates and cover plate with bearing. The engine got flooded by leaking supercharger intercooler cores, so I pulled the entire drivetrain with engine, subframe and trans to get it replaced. If a shop did all of this, I would have been well into e90 m3 territory or what they cost a year ago when I bought my “A4 3.0T”. Probably should had bought a 335i instead or the m3.

Another car I'd love to build and big turbo. Neither of which will probably happen. My kids are expensive enough! Glad you got her going and that it really was worth it! Can't wait to see numbers! Enjoy it... That's what car are for! And thank you for documenting the journey.

You are the best most under rated youtuber I know literally you have just inspired my whole 2014 Audi A4 build because I want to do the exact same thing
You have to explain the tuning process. Like what did it take to work with UM? Fueling stuff. Things to watch out for... ect. I plan on going with the boss 600 myself. My motor is built. Currently I'm APR map with an HPA k04. CTS kit was not out at the time i started the project. A lot of people jumped off the B8 A4/A5 platform when APR stopped development on their EFR kit. I'm glad to see that we have options again. Also i went with the A4 over the S4 for the some reasons. Keep up the good work! Thank you for not making is look easy like so many RUclipsrs do.
Congrats on the project completion. I have really enjoyed watching this build series, particularly your honesty throughout. As DIY garage builders, mistakes are inevitable and it's important to learn from them while also not trying to break all your toys and call it quits. I can't imagine the mental toll it would take on me removing the engine 3 times! Also, great cinematography, it's clear that is a passion of yours as well. Keep up the good work!
Great video and series, happy to see A4 content out here. I just purchased all the ingredients for stage 2, now to get them on this winter. thanks for the content.
Fascinated by the outcome on this. Here in the UK we seem to be restricted to stage 1 only maps now (pre baked). Ofc still got full custom options. Respect to the tenacity shown. 💪👏
Thank you for making these videos. I have a b8.5 A5 and I’ve been doing a ton of mods to it. You’ve definitely inspired some of them. Keep up the good work man :)
Bro, this might sound corny but I gotta tell you this... I subscribed less than a minute into your first video on this build. I could tell you just knew your stuff. It means a lot to all of us that you’re sharing these amazing videos and your knowledge to help us know what to and what not to do. Otherwise, it would potentially be an expensive lesson for many of us. One thing I want to know is how happy are you with the IE intake manifold. I’m thinking about getting one and want to know if you can feel the difference over stock? Sorry for the long-windedness.
Thanks for the continued support buddy!! I’m happy with the manifold. It’s kinda hard to tell the difference because I didn’t drive it too much before the whole rebuild. It did make the car backfire quite a bit because it ran rich from not having the intake flaps. So it would be best to get a “flapless” tune to go with it. I know UM and IE have tunes for it
@@FlinkFilms Full disclosure, I’m mimicking your build. Curious to know how you like the South Bend clutch? The tuning shop where I go here in Toronto is steering me towards to stage 2 daily instead of endurance because they say the clutch pedal feel is stiffer compared to OEM. Thoughts?
You are honestly the best person and i'm kinda sad I didn't find you until just now. Thank you for being the guinea pig. I've got the oil burn issue that's painfully common with these cars and am torn between going the route you've gone and trading up. Seeing you though.... and what I truly want, I think this is the route I'm going. Would be a huge help if you had a parts list lmfao thanks again dude!
Great series so far, love to see focus on handling and breaking updates as we know the engines potential is huge, look forward to the next one, UK fan 😎
I had the same aluminum manifold installed on my 2012 B4 Avant. As Integrated Engineering mentions, there is virtually no turbo lag. This car just keeps on pulling.
This is where I'm at with my 2008 audi a4 2.0t FSI 6 spd gtx3076r gen 2 superteck valve train boostline rods je custom pistons elring gasket kit all acl calico coated bearings and hopefully oil screens all removed break in coming soon. Thank you flink films
Subscribed. A big turbo build in a format that reminds me of Petrolicious and doesn’t have those annoying “WELCOME TO MY CHANNEL” intros? Hell yeah bro. Keep it up.
Sick build. Im a B8.5 owner myself. My local shop quoted me 15k for the boss 500 and that didnt even include boring and rebuilding the block with new internals. Couldve bought a new S4 for the difference in pricing of the big turbo. Im satisfied with my k04 with APR tuning. Next time Im going S3 with a supercharger, sub 10 sec with bolt on supercharger.
I've got a full bolt on SQ5 that makes roughly 550 wheel on race fuel. and this is so much cooler to me. great job with the build. You make me wanna get an A4!!! you just got another subscriber.
I really enjoy that page and the way you approached this video, from the shots , talking about the car , your personality.. all of it, i really enjoy the content i just watched and it was my first time on the page. Def getting a sub and the turbo sounds amazing , just get on her in the next video for me. Thanks have a great one man
Looks and sounds great! Love the content, Ann looking forward for more on this a4. Planning on buying a project car and have it down to 3, with an a4 most likely being the one. Great job, and thanks for all the great content!
A round of aplause for you!! And you inspire me to get a A4b8! I have a GTI MK6 on f23t Turbo!! And I was planning to get a GTX28 on it!! However AUDI A4 looks amazing, clean and classy!! So I might sell my GTI and get an AUDI A4!!
Love the car and your journey! No need to throw shade at us S4 owners though. There are plenty of smart reasons to go that route. I had a MK7 GTi and when I thought about its future and upgrade potential, I decided to move to the S4. Big turbo is fun, but this is my daily at the end of the day. I switched to the S4 instead of large turbo for many reasons, reliability of the EA837 over the EA888 being chief among them. I have a friend with a STOCK B8 A4 and guess who just picked up last month from the shop after a full rebuild... I know that the EA888 is a slightly different motor that his and yours, but they’re variations of the same design. At the end of the day they have had issues with reliability and continue to do so. Now I can also get a 500-600hp monster but don’t need to crack the block to do it, and I have instant acceleration, the exhaust note of a six and supercharger whine for days. Also a car with a better start point suspension wise (extra body welds aren’t practical to replicate), as well as interior. Maybe bolting on a pair of pulleys, swapping a heat exchanger and test pipes in isn’t the same challenge as a full rebuild, but I’m not sure it makes it a lesser car. The 3.0tfsi is just a better base IMO. Considering people have examples pushing well into the 600hp range on stock blocks still and only NOW nearing the 700hp range are people having to turn to the internals to keep progressing the platform. For a tuner motor to be around fifteen years old and various examples of street prepped cars running tens and there still being no OTS kits for the valve train or block shows you how stout they are. So it’s not just a money saver, it’s also a headache and time saver. Truth is, there is value in having that level of power in a way that BARELY affects reliability... well into the 600hp range. Second, I don’t care how much you frame it as personality, saving cash means more or better parts at each upgrade. So less headache and more potential, and cheaper to do it while maintaining a higher quality in various areas from the start point. I just call that being efficient with my resources and time. Again this isn’t to put you or your build down. It’s cool as hell and I congratulate you on it. Just don’t be too smug about it. At the end of the day everybody has their reasons to do what they do and no way is the right way. We both love our cars, and they’re both great in their own rights. I’m glad you pushed the envelope, and I lay my hat at the feet of trailblazers like you on the s4 side, because someone has too. The car world needs envelope pushers, just keep it humble and remember we’re all here for the same reasons. Edit: I understand it was just a joke but real talk there are only going to more of our folks facing this decision as these cars come down in price, and frankly for those with a tighter budget and time constrictions I actually think there is merit is starting with the more expensive car ironically.
you built almost the same as i built. except im putting in the BOSS650.I went with JE Ultra pistons 83MM so i had it bored 50mm bigger. i also went with rifled rods and racing bearings. i also switced to IE software from APR. i got rid of the mid muffler and put in a straight pipe so with that replaced its pretty loud but very throaty and it makes such a nice crackle sound. People think i have a V6 or V8 under the hood, yyou did really good on your build. The only thing I did was when i put my cylinder head on I used the cooper sealant spray and believe me i made mistakes the first time. I blew a head gasket and had to tear it back down. So thats why i ended up building it for racing. I'm also getting ready to put meth injection in the next week or so. So i will be looking fr more of your videos. I ended up getting my ARP studs from the UK cause there were none in the states.
great video, i have not checked out the channel but i would recommend putting out more build content. i would enjoy seeing the mechanics and “science” behind the build, as well as maybe a parts list and what brands you like and/or dislike. love the video editing and quality.
Great series! Beautifully filmed and very informative! Awesome to see someone running this kit, would love to build mine in this way one day. Can't wait to see more videos! Subscribed!
I love my B8, it has its flaws (like the bad front bushings and steering wheel noise) but these cars are going to be a hot ticket item with tuners soon.
Congrats man! That's a hell of a build, i have an a4 B7 2.0T Quattro and this is exactly what I was expecting to do with it someday, i just don't have the money lol Love your car, love the mods You're the man
Huge congratulations dude looks absolutely beautiful, sounds amazing and I’m sure you will love driving it! I’m more of a bmw/Mercedes guy but this may persuade me lol anyway, looks so good!
I loved the box humor 😂 very cool to see you catching your dreams on this thing. Also, portable garage heater! They're under $100 and work decent if you need to get stuff done in the garage in winter and don't have built in heat. Would be good to get small stuff done here and there. Looking forward to seeing what comes next! Also would love to see the car in person hopefully next year.
that's a good looking B8 A4 man, the power must be really nice and can't wait to see your HP numbers. I have the B9 and I'm comfortably putting 300-305 HP and 380 lbft torque to all four wheels with the stock turbo so I would be very interested to see your turbo install process as I plan on upgrading mine.
id love to do some light modding to my 2009 Audi A3 2.0 TFSI Quattro but its really hard to find builds for the platform. This is probably the closest to it and most recent. Keep up the good work!
Ayyy I’m in Wisconsin too! I’m looking into making my b8 wagon faster, thanks for all the help man! I would really like to talk with you and pick your brain for ideas.
Whhoaaa what an adventure! Awesome series throughout! Learned a lot from you! Looks like everything that was supposed to happen was for a reason. Hope to see more! Also wondering what you have for an exhaust setup..?
Great content! I have a b8 S5, and never thought I'd be interested in a A4 build. I'd love to overhaul my car to nearly double the hp. I feel you on the monetary hit taken. Audi is ridiculously expensive. I'm subbed, I'll see you in the next one.
Man i sure do love this car.. mine has.. a bit more than half the B and ALOT less of the stututu (none at all). Love your car! Hope i can get a bit more into doing this kinda fun stuff with cars soon. Maybe i'll get a B8 some day who knows.
Love the content and I feel your pain 100%. I had decided right about the same time as you to do a similar build (I'll post a video in the near future) but I used JE forge pistons with 10.3:1 CR and I only have a stock turbo at the moment and I plan on using a 2871 or a g25-550. Cant wait to see the HP numbers

Thoughts?
@@72defender Awesome! We'll be twins. It's been fine for me so far. The pedal feel is surprisingly soft
Was so hyped to see this. The build looks so excellent man, inspiring for sure. Stoked to see more B8 content.
I had the same aluminum manifold installed on my 2012 B4 Avant. As Integrated Engineering mentions, there is virtually no turbo lag. This car just keeps on pulling.
A6 owner here and love seeing the base models get some love! Great series!

As a B8 A4 Avant owner, I just wanna say great job and thanks for being a guinea pig! Keep it up bro!
Mad respect for keeping it 6MT!! Good luck on the build going forward!
Very nicely done! I really enjoyed watching the series and actually learned quite a bit. Looking forward to more!
Thanks have a great one man
Editing and cinematography are excellent!!!! Great work and nice build!!!!!
Amazing video brother! I love the commitment and passion to the build, awesome!
Incredible video! Congrats on getting the huge project done...or at least running and on the streets. Very cool to see.
Edit: I understand it was just a joke but real talk there are only going to more of our folks facing this decision as these cars come down in price, and frankly for those with a tighter budget and time constrictions I actually think there is merit is starting with the more expensive car ironically.
happy for you bro! hopefully my oil consumption rebuild and k04 install is done this week 🤞🏾
you built almost the same as i built. except im putting in the BOSS650.I went with JE Ultra pistons 83MM so i had it bored 50mm bigger. i also went with rifled rods and racing bearings. i also switced to IE software from APR. i got rid of the mid muffler and put in a straight pipe so with that replaced its pretty loud but very throaty and it makes such a nice crackle sound.
This car has way more personaliy than an S4. I like it and i like your attitude with it all. Good job mate
I love watching this and can’t wait for the next episode
great video, i have not checked out the channel but i would recommend putting out more build content. i would enjoy seeing the mechanics and “science” behind the build, as well as maybe a parts list and what brands you like and/or dislike. love the video editing and quality.
Great series! Beautifully filmed and very informative! Awesome to see someone running this kit, would love to build mine in this way one day. Can't wait to see more videos! Subscribed!
Absolutely continue this series! By far the best thing I've watched on RUclips in years. #BaggedB8/8.5Gang
Love what you doing for the community
I love my B8, it has its flaws (like the bad front bushings and steering wheel noise) but these cars are going to be a hot ticket item with tuners soon.
Thanks for all your hard work ! I can’t wait to see more of this build and other you have planned!💪🏽💪🏽
Good stuff dude!! happy to see it get buttoned up
Congrats man! That's a hell of a build, i have an a4 B7 2.0T Quattro and this is exactly what I was expecting to do with it someday, i just don't have the money lol
Love your car, love the mods
You're the man
I love your attitude Sir! Love your masterpiece even more 😍
this was needed!!!
we will like to see a launch and 1st to 4th pull
If everything goes according to plan, I’ll try to get it on a drag strip in 2021 to really see what it’s capable of
Huge congratulations dude looks absolutely beautiful, sounds amazing and I’m sure you will love driving it! I’m more of a bmw/Mercedes guy but this may persuade me lol anyway, looks so good!
Man those rollers were 🔥. Cinematography is next level!
Love the build and series, inspires me to keep working on my a4 b8. Can’t wait for more content 💯
I have a 2009 audi A4 really gives me inspiration to start and buliding it
Great stuff! I’ll check out the whole series, gotta get my a5 on this kinda diet
Absolutely fantastic! ❤️ Congratulations my brother! 🎉 You did it! 👍😎
Great Series! Looking Forward for more videos!
id love to do some light modding to my 2009 Audi A3 2.0 TFSI Quattro but its really hard to find builds for the platform. This is probably the closest to it and most recent. Keep up the good work!
You have Done a Long but great Job By your self!! Grettings from germany
Ayyy I’m in Wisconsin too! I’m looking into making my b8 wagon faster, thanks for all the help man! I would really like to talk with you and pick your brain for ideas.
My most recent video should be a little more helpful in that category. But send me a message on fb or ig and I’d be happy to help!
Much respect and thanks for all your hard work
Whhoaaa what an adventure! Awesome series throughout! Learned a lot from you! Looks like everything that was supposed to happen was for a reason. Hope to see more! Also wondering what you have for an exhaust setup..?
It’s a custom setup. Catless downpipe, stock 1st resonator, deleted 2nd resonator, and deleted rear muffler converted to quad exit
Flink Films Awesome!!
i just bought AUDI A4 B8.5 from carvana because of you today
I hope you love it!
love the ECS shade xD they do be takin forever now
Following you through my own build. :) Keeping me strong man.
just popping in to say I love this car and I'll be back tonight to watch the video
Great content! I have a b8 S5, and never thought I'd be interested in a A4 build. I'd love to overhaul my car to nearly double the hp. I feel you on the monetary hit taken. Audi is ridiculously expensive. I'm subbed, I'll see you in the next one.
Thanks for watching! At some point I’d love to get my hands on a 4.2 s5. One of the best sounding cars
@@FlinkFilms I have the Armytrix exhaust too! Sounds amazing, but you'd smoke me on the road lol.
Awsome just got a b8 couple of months ago. Keep up good work great content
Love the car, video and the hole setup
Nice job! The last torsen quattro A4
I’m going to Madison next weekend maybe I can spot you driving it
Sharp car man! Fun to watch this build
b8 a4 was my first car and i absolutely loved it i drive a b9 now a4 for life baby
Looks like somebody has some movie making experience. ;) Awesome work on both - the car and videos too. Really impressive.
Great job man 👌 - looking forward to more with the A4 !
