the porsche sticker clip was great 😅 great job, they look great behind those wheels
Burst into laughter at POORSCHE 😂
Love your production quality and humor, it’s fantastic!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 poorssche…. I love the pondering. I can’t wait until my S Line is done ✅ looking Fyah 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
🤔😄
A4?? What year is it??
@@214Oscar yes if ur asking about mine it’s a 2011
Thank you very informative and they do look good. Great idea on the naming nomenclature.
love the Porsche big brake look on an Audi. A nod to the RS2, and so clean. nicely done.
Nicely done man. I run Akebono pads and rotors and I am happy with how they perform.
I own a swapped mr2 but I used to daily a 2.0 Quattro a4 b8.5. I miss it and want a manual one! I want to replicate your build one day. Thank you for all your work
Love seeing your channel grow. Nice video also! Can't wait to see what's next
I am looking at an Audi A4 (B8) wagon and came across this video. I may or may not leave the engine stock but incase I decide to make some power I'm happy I watched this and know what parts can fit on the car to give me some extra stopping power.
amazing video as well besides the brakes, production and information overall is also great.
Love the POORsche branding. I get crap from the whiners because i installed mk2 TTRS calipers (4 pot monoblock caliper) on my b8 avant and didnt repaint them. Running them with 355x32 full floating rotors and running s4 setup for the rears didnt want to go to a bigger rotor than that drop quite a bit of weight over stock. Did new seals before installing if i ever repaint would probably do 4 rings or s line logo. The larger splash shields are like $30 direct from audi (4H0-615-311-C, 4H0-615-312-C). Was running EBC reds but they were pretty dusty switched to Hawk they seem to have better performance havent run long enough to tell if less dusty.
Dude I absolutely love the "poorsche"
Currently sitting on a pair of 365mm OEM Wave rotors from a 2018 R8 for either my B8.5 Allroad or my C4 Avant. More than likely going on the C4 due to engine swap needing more than 280mm front rotors.
Brother,
Your videos are killer!
So amazing what you did with the sticker lol
The Tesla EPB addition was a unique and an innovative touch. Hopefully, you're able to pitch-in into the forums on how we could do that? I'd like to upgrade my Rear Calipers to a 4 pot variant just like yours as I'm running the Macan setup up front and S4 rears in the back
need the voshmods rear adaptor plate to make it work
I would give bleeding one more go before making a MC change, note the B8 MC is the same as the 2018 S8 (6 piston 400mm).
I have found manual bleeding to produce better results, and it takes quite a bit when you're switching out lines due to how much air is introduced. Manual bleed, ABS output test via VCDS, manual bleed, the calipers might like a little mallet tap as well to dislodge bubbles.
Do you know if that’s the same for b8.5?
@@Bassmachine864 the B8.5 MC is shared with A4/S4 A5/S5 (single piston 345mm),and then the B8.5 Allroads/Q5/SQ5 (including multiple pistons) share a different version that also shows B8 compatibility.
That said, all B8/8.5 have been shown to be more than capable of running the 345mm 4 piston Brembos from the Macan/Q5.
@@jlallroad4629 I have the same setup has Flink sitting in my garage waiting to be installed on my b8.5 and worried about the master cyl. So you are saying I shouldn't have too much to worry about because of its success with the macan 4 pot?
Interesting... Thanks for the info. I bled all four calipers 4 times each, but didn't mess with ABS at all yet. I may give that a try first then
@@Bassmachine864 Correct, B8.5 was already designed with multiple pistons in mind and we have already seen RS5 8 piston calipers used successfully on the platform.
I have to add that this conversation often revolves around the number of pistons and volume of fluid, what needs to be considered is the size and travel of the pistons, in some cases the multiple (smaller) pistons require less fluid volume and less effort, some due to how pressure is applied and the absence of flex in monobloc calipers vs floating.
Ah yes exactly what I've been looking for, I've been in the market for a big brake upgrade for my A5
Looks awesome man. I’m jealous
Btw I’m sure you know this by now by 034 does offer two piece rotors for the Q7/SQ7 platform which are insanely almost 14lbs lighter.
Very cool upgrade 🎉🎉
Bigger brakes don't exactly make you brake faster, but help more with brake fading, although more braking force fyi more piston calipers do help...nice kit
Looks killer.
If the b8 suffers similar soft 1” of peddle with BBK like prior model years, there’s a 1-2 psi valve you can install where hardline meets soft line. Pretty amazing addition to the BBK as it firms the peddle significantly.
Pedal
Excellent edit intro
got a link to the rear kit for calipers and ebrake caliper?
Your videos always inspire me to do something to my B8. Lately I've been shopping for a B8 S4/S5 but the prices are through the roof and absurd for the mileage.
At least it's not 2021 pricing anymore haha. I've seen a few S4s at decent prices lately. Also thank you ❤
@@FlinkFilms Yeah they're getting better than peak pandemic prices, but i think i'll get another motorcycle to enjoy this summer and look for an S4 next year.
Same, except for the shopping for an s4/s5 lol
Nice job my friend =) i have the same setup at the front; but not on back only 1 piston 330mm from a7, but put the parts numbers on the comments, I dont have that brake discs, that is a 380mm i have 375mm,
Good shit Chris
Awesome job there Chris... did you use a wheel spacer for clearance and if you did can you tell me the spacer milometer.
Upgraded master brake cylinder will not make any difference in brake pedal travel unless the inner bore diameter of the master cylinder is actually larger than what you are running now. Usually, the upgraded master cylinder will have a larger diaphragm to give increase boosted pressure to the hydraulic system and not necessarily a larger inner bore diameter of the cylinder. These are two different things.
One way you might be able to check is research what Porsche uses on the latest 911 Twin Turbo S which I believe is running 10 piston calipers up front and 4 piston ones in the back. Given the sizes of the front calipers, I'd say the hydraulic fluid displacement is probably more than what you are running with 6 pistons and the back ones being equal at 4 pistons on both and I don't believe the OEM brake system will have large brake pedal travel distances. If the inner bore diameter of the master cylinder 10 piston front brakes are not significantly larger than what you have now on your car, then upgrading the M/C will not change the brake pedal travel! It sounds like you still have air in the system and didn't get all the air out.
Remember, all the brake pads that move when you apply the brakes only move 0.010 inch! This is about half the thickness of a typical business card! The hydraulic fluid is filled up completely to the back side of all the pistons in the calipers. What ever distance the brake pads move is the distance the slave cylinders move - no more, no less. Given the piston sizes of the total number of pistons on your car, 6 pistons x 2 + 4 pistons x 2, you can calculate the volume of the hydraulic fluid displaced when you apply the brakes and it will be some but minimal! Your existing M/C can easily handle this amount of brake fluid required at all four brakes!!! And if you have the inner diameter of your M/C, you can easily calculate the distance the M/C piston must travel to give the above calculated volume of hydraulic fluid required by the brakes!
Hope this explanation helps.
nice to my country on Your brakes :D
Hi mate, great video. Did you come across anything about the pads not covering the complete rotor surface? does this not create bad lips?
looooool poorsche what class!!
did you change the brake fluid to make sure it is fresh as it ages and absorbs water
So Im going from 1 piston all around to 4 piston up front in about a week or so. Do you think with only adding 6 extra pistons ill need a new Master Cylinder where in your case you added like 16. Im super nervous for the install because things are never as easy as it seems. also I should only have like 6mm of clearance with my calculations
Would definitely want a two piece disc to bring the unsprung mass down.
do u think anything other than a ko4 big turbo kit for a b8.5 a4 would be worth it or would I run into problems I was looking into the cts ko4 hybrid kit but would I have to build my engine???
Do the fronts have the same squishy feel like the macan front 4 pistons have issues with??
Where did you get the mount for the rear so you can mount the Tesla parking brake from
Would you happen to have a part number for the front caliper brackets?
My 08 bmw 135i came stock with 6 front and 4 rear piston brembo brakes and I want to see if I can mod it to fit my b8.5 allroad
Lmao the up badging jokes hahahaha and the caliper covers!
Do you have a link where I can get the adapter to run these brake calipers ?
Awesome job Chris! The Big Brakes look great, nd clearly work well too! Pooooorsche ... lol :)
Us A4 guys are just incredibly poor! 😆
Did you had to do anything to the knuckle or anything for the callipers to fit? And what is the disc size?, trying to do that on my a5 b8.5
Hello, are your brakes brembo 18z? Where did you buy the adapter?
i wanna ask if this 4M0615107BT brake caliper will fit on a5 b8.5. thx
Really enjoy your videos. I'd like to upgradethe brakes on my '12 A5 B8. Did you use the carriers that came with the calipers or something else?
Can I ask what hardware was used to fit these? I know requires some spacers and a longer bolt, but not sure which.
Awesome video! I’m going to be going this route and I’m sourcing the parts. Hope you can help. Are the rotors 380mm?
Im looking to get 4m q7 brakes on my b8 s5, what bracket would you need for the b8 series? And what size bracket spacer did you use? Thank you
I know on the B7 ones when You lose fluid You got to do an ABS cycle via VCDS when bleeding, have You tried this maybe it will help?
Do you have part numbers for the rear Caliper bracket made to hold both rear and parking calipers? Also whats the part number of the Tesla Parking Brake? Wanna do this upgrade too!
HI, I’m interested in buying the calipers. Which Caliper Adapter Bracket should I use? D3507 or D3517. Would appreciate your feedback🙏
How did the paint hold up at the track? I’ve seen people use “high temp” spray paint like this for calipers and absolutely cooked it on the track. Bubbled, dried, and flaked off
If someone want to know, the Macan S mastercylinder + brakeservo combo fits to B8 with just minor alternations to the brakelines. The piston diameter is over 28mm. Works well with the Macan S brembos or Akebono calibers ☺️
thanks
I have A B8S5 About to pull the trigger some Are these better than RS5 8pod since it has a bigger Rotor to start with.? And what master cylinder are you replacing it with ? Can't wait for that video.?
What year is the Porsche cayenne rear brakes
What is your wheels size and front discs size?
Watching him bounce around is his seat towards the end. That would get old fast.
Whats the wheel inc? 19 or 20
What did you do about the rear electronic parking brake?? Those macan rears didnt look like they accepted the parking brake??
At 6:30 when going through the parts for the rear brakes, I mentioned it’s a Tesla parking brake. The adapter plate has a spot to mount it. Also they’re cayenne calipers, not macan
Great video., Any chance you still have a link for mounting kit? Tried to find by name, but unfortunately no luck.
any luck?
Great work and a very informative video.
Is there any other option for the e-brake?
And will the front brakes clear 19x8,5 et43 peelers?
I need to know that too.. using the same setup as you .. 19x8.5 ET 43 .... it will clear or not ????? HELPP ME
I would say yes. Same as rs3 wheel size / et
For Those Interested In a More Bolt-On setup, I Used C7 A6 / A7 3.0T Calipers and Stoptech 356mm Drilled and Slotted Rotors. DIRECT BOLT ON SOLUTION.
Front and back calipers? Also how many pistons did they have?
will this work on my b7?
You don't run adjustable upper control arms correct? How do tires wear?
Correct. Fronts are fine since I had everything aligned. Rears aren’t as great because I still have the camber as far in as possible from my previous wheel setup. That ends up affecting the rear toe-in, making for some pretty bad tire wear. So get a toe alignment, don’t max out your rear camber, and you should be fine
Love the quality content. What wheels and tires are you running? I found some 20s and I'm wondering if they'll fit even if I'm on lowering springs.
You'll be fine with 20s if they're 10 inches wide or less, with an offset of +35 or higher. These are BBS CHR-II and they're 20x9 +38 or something like that. My Rohanas I used to have were 20x10 +33 and they were juuust on the edge of fitting okay with a mild fender roll
@@FlinkFilms awesome man much appreciated
I’ve been modding my b8.5 a4 for a while now too, and I’ve wanted more ponies out of it for a while now (I have the full stage 2 k04 setup on it), but go damn it gets expensive and I have no idea anymore if it’s worth upgrading internals and turbo (again) just to get a 100 more horse😢 I love the a4 but why tf they make the block so un-upgradable 💀
trying to fit some of these q7 calipers to my b8 a4. you mentioned the previous kit owner already modified them to fit. you mention the spacers for the caliper to adapter. do you know if there was any grinding done on the adapter itself to get the calipers to sit with the discs perfectly centred?
Not that I’m aware of. The brackets didn’t appear to be modified when I received them
@@FlinkFilms ok great. thanks for the reply. found a scrap sq5 disc so going to do some test fitting tomorrow see what size spacers im going to need
Were u able to install them without grinding away at the hub ?
@@vrubio1110 when i test fit they seemed to fit fine without grinding. was very very close though so i took a very small amount off when i did final fit.
I was dying when u read the comments 💀💀💀😂😂😂😂
Mind telling me where you got the honeycomb fog light covers?
I got them on eBay. I think these are the “rs7 style” fog grilles
@@FlinkFilms Appreciate it!! Will go on the hunt now!
Hey Chris how many miles on that bad boy? just got to 154k and thinking about buying some new rotors/pads/etc
I’m only at 97k on it. I originally changed to the last set at around 70k because my front pads were completely gone
So did you paint the fan on purpose or on accident
😂 it’s that off-red finish everyone’s been looking for haha
I need that wing! Where did you get it? Clean ass a4 sheesh hopefully mine looks like yours soon
This one is the ECS branded trunk lip. If you get one, put some sort of paint protection film on it, they sunfade like crazy
@@FlinkFilms Will do. Also what year is your a4 I know some lips won’t fit bc of the integrated trunk lip, 2013+
@@user-rp2gh6hb1h It's a 2011 with a non-integrated trunk lip
i have a 2013 audi s5 8.5 supercharger will this mod also work for me?
Yep!
Muchas thank you bro
I am trying to start the project in my car I revived one of the calipers but it has a different numbering -4m0.615.106.jr- they are akebono they sent me from a q7 2021 quattro 2.0😅
you'd get a double thumbs up from me if I saw those calipers on the road lmfao
You got me lol.
Nice Vid! Do you know if those calipers are plug & play on a S5 B8 like the Q5 4 pot calipers?
😄👍😎
I see my joke was extremely accurate
yes😂🤣
The intro has me ded
I'd keep what you had than have flat face rotors with no slotting in them because performance wise it's a downgrade.
Not quite. The larger braking surface area along with the added pistons had made this thing’s braking improve a ton. Definitely a noticeable upgrade when autocrossing and tracking the car.
@@FlinkFilms I'd for sure change those huge rotors with slotted rotors, possibly even a 2 piece rotor, more performance on the table. :)
my car is IE stage 2 with all the stage 2 supporting mods but I feel like my car is still unreliable if you could just insert the 5 page maintenance list in this comment section😭 but fr I need some help man🥲
Hey man, i’m using macan front and rear calipers for a time now and the brake pedal kind of feels mushy.
I believe it’s about the master cylinder?
Do you have any suggestion about the potential upgrades?
seriously doubt it is master cylinder with 4 pots off the macan when is the last time you flushed fluid? Did you change to SS lines?
I dont understand what you mean by “ss line” , changed the fluid when i did the upgrade and it was mushy right off the bat
@@Exray737 stainless steel braided lines. if it was mushy right off the back most likely need to bleed again.
