Had the pleasure of being in your Slammedenuff Chicago video. Was awesome meeting you. We got a chance to talk about this car and I’m so stoked to see its back running! Looking forward to seeing you at Slammedenuff Gatlinburg! Looking forward to seeing the power this baby is gonna make soon!
I tune cars professionally and my wife has a B8 A4 2.0T. I’ve tweaked it a little and it’s just a great car. I have a lot of admiration for your perseverance. I’ll build an LS any day, but the Audi motors are a Rube Goldberg machine. I did the timing chain tensioner and guide service and was pretty terrified to crank it when I was finished. Good on you man. So much respect!
I am way too deeply involved in this project with you. At 10:15 my heart dropped and I though you were going to have to pull the engine out. Sooooo happy for you that it worked out man!
I was stoked when I saw the thumbnail and I am so excited to see the A4 back on the road!! (After a quick google search it looks like the German word for Yellow starts with a G, so maybe that is why) I can't wait for more content on the A4 and of course love the edits too! Keep up the great content and hard work Chris!!
This has to be the most built B8 A4, right? Maybe someone on the forums it farther along but I haven't seen anything else like this on RUclips. Very inspirational. I have a 2012 A4 P+ 8spd and just did my first two mods ever, an S5 steering wheel and custom exhaust. I can't wait to start adding power, but am trying to be little responsible and do maintenance along the way lol.
By far the best A4 build series. Love the editing and the organization of your videos. Kinda glad you had to rebuild again cuz that means more vids lol I know I’m horrible 😂
Pro tip: If you want to add a resonator (or any component) to your exhaust system, go down to your local Auto Zone and take advantage of the free tool rental program to get an exhaust pipe expander tool that you can use to create a flange for putting the upstream pipe into the downstream pipe. This is the way aftermarket exhaust systems are typically designed and it works well without leaking. Trying to create a sleeve to cover two same sized pipes is always going to leak to some extent.
What weight of non synthetic oil are you running???? Great build series. Glad to see the car back on the road. Wishing you good luck moving forward with the car. I love my high boost (20psi) stock turbo 2.0t 6 speed. Highly under rated cars.
I built my 2.0t with Je pistons as well, stock bore and I got lucky. Build currently has 9k on it so I definitely did something right! I will be buying the boss 500 kit shortly and looking forward to seeing which tuner you go with cause I most likely will be bringing it to the same place as you!
@flink films i noticed you installed the rear main seal by hand, you need to use a rear main seal installation tool to help prevent leaking from there. cheers on the project my man!!!
I was really hoping that you would have rebuilt the engine again instead of taking it to a shop. Proper engine building just takes careful and meticulous steps to do it perfectly. The satisfaction of doing the job yourself and having it run well is such a great feeling.
My jaw dropped as soon as I saw this video pop up on my feed, I love this build and I'm glad things are getting better with it! The BBS wheels had me in awe the entire episode until you finally addressed them lol, keep doing what you do. We're all rooting for you!
Well it's nice to see you have your car on the road. When I built my B8 I used JE racing pistons 83mm. I love the sound mine makes. I'm running 2 meth/water injectors and where I live no one has an AWD dyno. I'd love to see what I'm putting out based on the build I'm guessing I'm putting out around 425-450HP. Who did you use for your tune? I'm currently running IE but they don't offer software to support the big Turbo. They only support the K04-64. I'd love to switch up to the bi boss 600. My block can handle the extra turbo but the problem is finding someone that has the software for it. The only thing I noticed you didn't use the cooper spray for the head gasket. The one time I didn't use it I had a leak between the cylinders. Oh and I'm also running a test pipe from my cat back to my AWE dual exhaust. And it's loud...lol
Hell Yeah! Glade to see the B8 and wishing mine was standard transmission that can handle the hp. I have a 8sp auto. Your videos inspires me to build my B 8.5 A4P+ one day.
hell yeah my dude! that's so weird, i was thinking about your car this morning. i recently got my Z back on the road too after chasing some driveline issues for 3 months. some valuable lessons were learned as well!
YYAYAAAAYAAAAAAAY, just came home driving my a4, some how my boostgauge silicon hose ripped off and saw this and really happy your car is back on the road
Nice to see this back driving. I have a K04 B8 right now and been enjoying it a lot. But I was always considering going further. Might be a little late but let me know if you ever need any info. I'm a cert. Audi tech. Hope to see more of this! Cheers!
Keep going bro. I love it you are doing something different and this story needs to be told. I have done so much to my B8.5 and I regret not having the time or skill to film it, nor did I do anything as drastic as a cylinder bore out.. please let me know if anyone is offering engine internals for the 3.0TFSI
I’ve been loving this build series, mostly because I also own an a4 lol however my piston rings just went and I’m not sure it’s worth fixing anymore being as the car has 204k miles.. but after watching this series I’m tempted to build my a4
At this point you cant lose. Id open up the motor and assess the damage and start to build a shopping list. Or go buy a junkyard motor thats known to run ok and go wild.
I love how your B8 sounds!! Please break down your exhaust setup for me 😁Did you do the CAT delete, two back muffler delete adding tips, and then adding the Vibrant "ultra quiet" muffler?
Man you really love that car to get where you are right now, I just bought a 2010 A4 Quattro with the ZF 6 speed and I love the car and everything but I’m giving up on the car because of the very bad oil consumption
Sooo happy this worked out for you man, proud you stuck it through. Do you think your AFRs are bouncing around because theoretically you were tuned on a unhealthy block and so on?
Awesome! You say it's running rich. Have you replaced the fuel pump? Also the fitment on the BBS look soooo much better than the fitment of your last wheels. Looks good brother!
Can I ask your input on something with the CTS catch can. I’ve seen some people out a small breather filter in place of the dip stick. Do you think that’s a good idea or reasons why or why not? Appreciate any input. Love the build man. Cheers.
I’ve actually be considering putting a couple breathers in my catch can system. The crank case pressure gets pretty bad with big turbo setups like this
@@FlinkFilms good shit my friend. Thanks for making these videos. Helping me learn a lot for my A4 B8. Stage two is next week. Maybe K04 next summer so seeing your videos are extremely helpful for me atm to learn what I should be looking for in the future. 🤙🏼
I tried this on my car. The blow by from the high pressures made a huge mess in engine bay. I welded the hole back up and retapped for stock dip stick. Good luck if you do this.
Yo I had popped a fuse while my a4's key was on, melted the maf plug cause I was doing work with the airbox and forgot to plug it back in, melted on the the header. As soon as I cut all 3 maf wires in one run I knew I fucked up but didn't notice til the car was crank no start after I replaced the pigtail. Stupid little shit haha
Curious how many holes the JE pistons have in the ring glad?? Mine had brute rods, mahale pistons full race build only lasted 6000 km. Cylinder walls look like crap, trust washers were puked out. I have had a few of these built by big builders no longer wasting the money being they can’t make 10,000 km.
Hm..I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my dv as I’d expect a code to accompany it. But worth looking into. And it’s a gfb dv+ if you were curious
this is awesome keep it up bud, this is my favorite build cause I own the same car. thank you for being brave enough to build up one of these can't wait to see more vids of it XD
Hey man I got a 2010 Audi A4 2.0t sline the engine has been running pretty rough, misfires in cylinder 1 4. I replaced all the spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel injections, and the pcv valve. still didn’t fix. Do u have any suggestions?
The valance is just from eBay. It fits terribly. And I just tee’d off the factory bend to make it a y pipe. Then installed s4 passenger side hanger and heat shield. The tank and spare tire well aren’t really in the way, just gotta follow the path that was laid there for the dual exit models
Hey guys, i have something off topic, kinda. i own an B8 aswell and the problem i got is that if drive around 140 km/h the whole car is vibrating, mostly when im not pressing gas padel anymore. i checked the wheels, cuz i thought thats usally a sign for it, but they are fine. the problem now is, i dont really know much about cars and hoped that some of u could help me with some clues or ideas
First thing I'd guess is wheel balance. I know you said you checked them, but have a shop check them on a balancer if you haven't yet. If there's a vibration noise that comes with it, it could also be wheel bearings - I've had to replace those on mine. Overall, if you don't know much about cars, have a professional take a look at it. They could probably figure out the issue in just a couple minutes.

That persistence tho. This thing will be epic and featured on another RUclips channel some day I know it

I’ll be sure to ask for your permission next time I spend thousands on my own car then 👍

standard would be so nice🤣 i got an S4 with the 7 speed auto transmission my shit would be obliterated💀
Glad to see it on the road again and hopefully ripping on the dyno soon 😬
let’s goooo, so happy to see this thing back out in one piece. has the displacement drastically changed at all after the new rebuild?
I don’t think so. The bore is only half a mm over oem, so I doubt it would really make much of a difference
hell yeah my dude! that's so weird, i was thinking about your car this morning. i recently got my Z back on the road too after chasing some driveline issues for 3 months. some valuable lessons were learned as well!
Glad to hear it! We’ll have to cruise in our projects together someday
YYAYAAAAYAAAAAAAY, just came home driving my a4, some how my boostgauge silicon hose ripped off and saw this and really happy your car is back on the road
Congrats on driving it again finally! Bet it feels nice
I bet you feel nice 😘
R = Rot = Red G = Gelb = Yellow B = Blau = Blue German / English
Ya know, with as many German classes I took in hs and college, you’d think I would have gotten that right away. But nope. Thanks for the clarification

Are you from India? Me too

Sooo happy this worked out for you man, proud you stuck it through. Do you think your AFRs are bouncing around because theoretically you were tuned on a unhealthy block and so on?
Based on a couple suggestions in the comments, it could be possibly because of the change in displacement of the block
@ 6:40 It looks like you still used regular RTV on the cam cover? It needs to be anaerobic sealant. Great video though! Cheers!
i wasnt keen on those wheels but goddamn that fitment is perfect
Hey man I love what your doing with your b8. I’m saving right now for a big turbo on my b6 A4. Keep up the quality videos!
The 6 bolts on the side of the block that go into the main caps did you have to replace those? If so do you have a link or part number to those?
Awesome! You say it's running rich. Have you replaced the fuel pump? Also the fitment on the BBS look soooo much better than the fitment of your last wheels. Looks good brother!
Happy to see it back on the road! Looking forward to more!
G for yellow is because its called "gelb" in german
lol the "episode 4 time for a rebuild" at 7:32 should add "again" on it
😆 no joke I tried to make that exact intro but screwed up the writing haha
Can I ask your input on something with the CTS catch can. I’ve seen some people out a small breather filter in place of the dip stick. Do you think that’s a good idea or reasons why or why not? Appreciate any input. Love the build man. Cheers.

How did you do it with the dip stick tube? I have a breather in place of the catch xans dip stick hole. Just super glued on.
@@gasNmudtv looking on your dip stick insight. Read lower comment if you have time thank you
It might be a possibility of vacuum leak for rich condition is it only at idle ?
This brings a HUGE smile to my face

G=gelb (german)=yellow
Lambda < 1 possible boost leak, see LT and ST fuel trim values 👍
Love the channel bro, totally underrated

So glad to hear your car is back on the road, what a beautiful build.
What color are the BBS wheels? Gunmetal?
I really admire what you can do. 👍🏻
Are you running a diverter valve or a blow off valve? Maybe a broken dv could be causing your car to run rich?
Hm..I don’t think there’s anything wrong with my dv as I’d expect a code to accompany it. But worth looking into.
And it’s a gfb dv+ if you were curious
Love my b8 and your vids man but damn that Mazda is putting in some work!
what turbo did you get?
Cheers man! Couldn’t be happier to see you back on the road. Looking forward to more great content
Happy to see it come back
this is awesome keep it up bud, this is my favorite build cause I own the same car. thank you for being brave enough to build up one of these can't wait to see more vids of it XD
Hey I own a A4 B8 too. Do you have coilovers? Wondering about a weird noise from the rear…
Great work! Glad it’s back on the road
14:20 what code did you get? I might have the same problem
no? no answer? :(
whats the displacement player? I just got my IE manifold heh
So well filmed! Very enjoyable to watch
Right on man! Glad you are back up and going.
Why it say is because Yellow in German is Gelb
Sooo....how much hp you pushing!???
Who did the tuning?
Appleton takeover tomorrow?
What is your wheel and tire setup, im looking for my first pair for next year summer and your fitment looks exactly like what id want
Hey man I got a 2010 Audi A4 2.0t sline the engine has been running pretty rough, misfires in cylinder 1 4. I replaced all the spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel injections, and the pcv valve. still didn’t fix. Do u have any suggestions?
Time for a carbon cleaning. Might want to check your injectors while your in there.
Might still have bad injector as they can arrive brand new n faulty. A bench flow check is the only true way to know rates of flow.
still waiting for that flink films B8 in white V nec t-shirt, great video,
Most probably been said but the reason for G could be as Gelb is German for Yellow
I've always wondered what rear valance you have on your car and what kind of y-pipe you made to keep it away from the tank?
The valance is just from eBay. It fits terribly. And I just tee’d off the factory bend to make it a y pipe. Then installed s4 passenger side hanger and heat shield. The tank and spare tire well aren’t really in the way, just gotta follow the path that was laid there for the dual exit models

fuck, those wheels are perfect
How can I reach out to you?
What tune do you have for the big boss setup?
Well done man. Enjoyed the vid. Love your B8 Def makes me miss mine
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO
Congrats bro!!!
Alleluia! 👏
Thanks again for sharing these amazing videos!
Proud of ya guy!
what rear valence is on the car?
When is the next Update??? Just crashed my stage 2 B8.5 A4 into a prius and could use some motivation to get her rebuilt and back on the road
Awesome bro

The G most likely means "Gelb" which means yellow in german
Man it looks so good !!
💪🏾💪🏾
👌🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
@6:24 what part is that?
I think the technical name is oil separator or something like that. It goes on the side of the block
f**k yea!!!! so excited for you man!!!!
Is this a manual gearbox?
Awesome 😎👍
Absolutely awesome Wheels….
Great job
Nice work =)
No more Iabed RMS? I think that RMS you put on is the old style...
Love it.
Way to go.
Too clean
😍😍👍
nice
Yellow is designated as "G" because the German word for yellow is "gelb."
