Absolutely agree , hopefully Sylvia can come back and stay for longer period of time in the Philippines as you truly have great passion for the Philippines which makes me realize I should go back home and visit my mother land and truly appreciate the Philippines for the great country it is
honestly i love sir Anthony sharing history and knowledge. Galing mo po Mang Anthony God bless po. HOpe you enjoyed ur trip Sylvia, salamat sa pag visit.
So thankful to Ate Paula! She really had the time to be with u and be your initial guide for your tour herein PH!
U really had the best chance to have all these info's and experiences here.
Glad u did this!
Thanks miss Sylvia! 🇰🇷🇵🇭
hi sylvia if you enjoyed intramuros you should visit Vigan and Las Casas Filipinas de Azucar you'll see authentic spanish architecture and how the filipino is living during that era for me personally Spanish Era is very very AESTHETIC specially the language they are using at that time :)
Is Las Casas Filipinas de Azucar located in Bataan Province?🤔
Acuzar is too expensive! HAHAHA
Las casas is very expensive
Agree! I've been trying to suggest it with Jessica too. Las Casas is really beautiful. I've been there. Not too expensive, it is just worth your stay. I hope you visit there when you comeback, Sylvia. ❤️
@@totoji i've been there .. i'm sure sylvia can afford 1,500 pesos hehe
Yes, Filipino soldiers served in the Korean war in 1950! In fact, in the battle of Yultong, where 900 Filipino soldiers defeated or repelled around 40K Chinese soldiers.
Thank you Sylvia for learning more about the Philippines' history!
I don’t know if you ever felt it too, but the first time I went under the dungeon in Fort Santiago, I felt uneasy and heavy. I guess it’s the Filipino in me having that overwhelming connection with the past and the struggles of the many Filipinos held captive there. After all these years, what’s sad is many Filipinos don’t know a lot about history, if not, they tend to forget it easily.
Sameee ako rin 🙂
Wow I know that feeling🥺 I felt it in a Korean museum too, and I believe that feeling proves how much you care about the history and the current society as well. Ang galing po💯 Hope people can be more aware and recollect the past for the better future🙏
@@SylviaKim Ang galing mo rin po! Thank you for taking an interest in our history. Sana makita po kita the next time you visit po ♥️
6:25 - Sylvia your caption said corridor, but he actually said Corregidor. It's an island at the mouth of Manila Bay, a perfect strategically located island to defend Manila Bay/Manila itself
Ooooh I see!!! Thanks for the correction po🙏
That's the Japanese guy who hid in the island of Corregidor not knowing the war ended in 1945...
I am humbly say that you are enjoying our country more because it feels like you're set free Sylvia than in Korea
*nope, don't say that. Korea is still a place where she really used to. and everything she sees in the Philippines is new for her. unlike other Koreans who grew in the Ph, Sylvia is still on her "get to know more" stage.*
I honestly really love living in Seoul, Itaewon☺️🤍
It’s just so marvelous seeing a foreigner who is interested in learning the history of the Philippines. It felt like I am a stranger in my own country, not being able to visit Manila and see historical places. Hope you can visit soon again and travel to different regions here in the PH. 🌸😇
Well filipinos are not interested in their own history anyway and some even wants to rewrite it and make their own narrative. #MARCISMAGNANAKAW
my grandfather served in WW2 and Korean War and when I was in college, I often visit Intramuros since it's just a few minutes away from my school in UBelt
Thank you for learning the history of the Philippines. I hope the next generation of Filipino youth will have the same enthusiasm as you to learn the rich and vibrant history of our nation. Thank you for this inspiration... ❤️

that's a hardcore OG tour guide! you found a real historian there Sylvia! cool! (I'm at 3:40 mark as I comment this).
What I love about you is that you’re immersing yourself in our culture not just for content. I really feel your genuine interest and love for the Filipino culture and as a Filipino, I appreciate that. Hope you visit our country again soon. 🤞
My girlfriend really likes you too and I hope we can meet you when you get back 😊
This is very Touching and Heartwarming and Interesting and Informative vlog. Thanks for appreciating our history. we appreciate all your efforts to learn and know about the history of the Philippines. Ang Galing mo ate SYLVIA da Best ka talaga!! 💯❤❤❤
It means a lot to be noticed this way!!! Salamat poooo talaga🤍🤍🤍🤍
Mabuhay ka, Sylvia! When a Korean is so much willing to learn the Filipino culture and history as our own people. Your vlogs filled my heart so much!
I went to the school where you passed by Mapua University. Graduated with a civil engineering degree last 1974 (a long time ago).
Hello, Sylvia!!!! I am glad that you are studying the history of the Philippines.
I am Prinz Gabriel Reynoso and currently, I am taking Bachelor of Arts in History at the University of the Philippines Diliman (UP Diliman). If this would help, I can share you some of my books in PDF files, though these are translated in English.
Thank you and good luck! 💖💖💖💖

9:38 You said “Ako din” WHEHE. That gesture is very Filipino. Very nice video Miss Sylvia. I also did learn a lot from this.
Ito yung maganda kay sylvia kim above all vlogger n korean n ang topic o binavlog ay philippines e di muna alamin ung history natin. But sylvia is way more diff. From them.. start to know/study about our history culture food (bakit ganun panlasa natin bakit KANIN IS LIFE) SYLVIA learn step by step to know more about pinas. And thats a good start. One of the reason why we love you sylvia coz your smart and genuine about US. Filipino. And specially your smile. You always smile like para kana talagang my dugong pinoy.. 🤣 taglish na ako kasi di aq bihasa sa english maiintindihan m dn to soon.. coz i know one of your goal is to learn to speak our language.
Finally! You have tried the kalesa. Great that you visited intramuros and learnt about some historical backgound of the Philippines.
Best video of Sylvia so far. Loving this.
I love your tour guides! They're so fun and witty! I actually got to learn things i never even knew about our history! 😅 glad you enjoyed the tour learning more about our history and culture 😊
Thank you Sylvia for embracing our rich culture and history and even appreciates Filipino Soldiers helping koreans in the war.. its nice to see you enjoying your quick tour in Intramuros and learning so much about Filipino heritage Sites. Hopefully you can visit more historical sites so that many filipinos or even koreans can learn more about Filipino History and Culture.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Wow! Good job Sylvia! This vlog is so much more interesting and informative than any other Intramuros vlogs I've ever seen so far!
It’s so nice to see your tour in and around Intramuros. Going there gives you a lot of insight into Philippine history. That place has a lot to see and experience. Some time ago, I don’t know if they still do it, a theater company used to do shows within the walls. Open air. Amazing experience! 11:00 When the kalesa driver was talking about USA (United Squatter Area) Squatters - transients; people who occupy another’s property for an extended period of time, for free. This vlog was so good! The Philippines has a very diverse and colorful history and you just had an introduction. 12:58 The Korean War which the Philippine military sent troops to help S Korea against N Korea and China is also known as “The Battle of Yultong.” The deep past contributes to our interesting current times. Hope you get to see more of the beauty of this country.
Ingat ingat Ricardo.. Ang galing Ang galing 😂 Pinay na, paulit-ulit
This feels so magical. ✨ Mas lalo kong naappreciate ang Pilipinas. ❣️ Thanks sylv for this wonderful vid. 😘
In this videos I can see how much Ms. Sylvia love the Philippine history ❤😊
And she enjoy the tour so much..
Thank you for loving the Philippines 😊❤
Always keep safe ❤😊
Mabuhay Sylvia! You are very much welcome here in the Philippines. I've been following you for a year now and I am so glad to see you enjoying and appreciating the Filipino culture. Salamat sa pagbista. You can also visit Corregidor. Ingat ka. :)
I would agree to one of the comments here, in case you will be visiting again, please go to Vigan, in Ilocos. It's highly instagrammable and there are museums there as well so you can go deeper our history. A must visit place! Hope to see you back in our country 😁
I studied in Lyceum and seeing you walk and learn my country's history warms my heart. ❤️❤️❤️
edit: oh my gawdd... You passed my school... When I was studying we do eat at the 'eatery' there...
Ferdinand Magellan is Portugueze who worked as Spanish Navigator and Spanish Explorer. He discovered Limasawa island near Cebu in 1521.
I'm very very PROUD that I'm a Filipino! Mabuhay po tayo! ❤
Wow! This is not just a vlog. This is a vlog with a lot of lessons! creating a content related to the history of a country is not easy. It should be studied well, so thank you very much eonnie. We know how you prepared for this vlog. We know you studied it and we are all appreciate it so much. Mahusay! 🙌
Hindi lang kami na entertain kundi na review pa kami sa history ng PH! 😍
Salamat for seeing as more than just a vlog🤍🤍
This really inspires me to travel and explore more cultures😭❤️
wow Mr. tour guide loves what he's doing, if i ever go there I would like him to be my tour guide. He seems nice and very friendly. 💛
Also glad you visit historical place there in Manila. Going back in time is a really good place to start knowing more about the country and its people. 💛
Did you know in Intramuros is where the Oldest University in Asia which is the University of Santo Tomas (1611) was initially built? After it was destroyed during World War II, it was relocated in Sampaloc District at España Boulevard and its pieces were rebuilt there
Salamat kuyang tour guide, kuya Joel, and Ricardo! Good choice of place ate Sylvia
I really love the Spanish vibes of that place. One of my favorite place in my country ❤️
sobrang happy ni sylvia gs2 q yun tawa nya.. ^_^ sobrang willing malaman about the pilipins
Please go and visit Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar in Bataan. You will see Philippines in the Spanish Era. Its like you've travel back in time. It has the feels of the 18th century Europe
_i think this is your best trip/experience for awhile here in PH. episode with history lesson is a banger._
☺️ I'm so glad that you really want to embrace Philippines not just our culture but also our history! I really laugh when you said "I should brought my iPad so I can write it down" 😏 you're really serious about learning! I really enjoy watching you laughing and enjoying while riding on Ricardo (horse) You love the joke that CARDO is like MANNY PACQUIAO! 😁 CARDO is smart! He tilted his head as a response for complementing him, sabi mo kasi "ang popular naman" 😆 I love this content! Informative and at the same time very entertaining! 🤞
11:07 thats my school! On the right side is where we usually all eat. I hope you had visited intramuros before pandemic so that you can see the busy environment on that side full of students.
Hey Sylvia! Thank you so much for going to Intramuros! I hope you have a good time!
Jamás pensé que pudieras venir a visitar intramuros la ciudad amurallada, de verdad espero que lo hayas disfrutado, love you Sylvia hope you visit more of our historic places ☺️🇵🇭
Try to read Jose Rizal's novels if you get the chance, the Noli Me Tangere and the El Filibusterismo. These were stories of ordinary people during the Spanish occupation here in the Philippines. You'll be surprised how modern his thoughts were back then in the 1800s.
I remember touring here (Fort Santiago and Intramuros) with my former workmates and friends. we enjoyed it without really learning anything, just site seeing. or maybe because we already know these things from our school
Ate Sylvia, Intramuros is even more beautiful at night. As a student who went to college there for 4 years, night time is when mostly of my classes were dismissed. The Cathedral looks different at night. Hope you’ll be back here soon! Ingat!
Hello thanks for sharing the history of the Philippine kuya recardo so nice guard tour is funny.enjoy your travel in the Philippines god bless stay safe I miss my country I'm waching from Riyadh Saudi
Nice enjoy your stay here in manila discover more about the culture
It's like me and Sylvia are learning. I'm Filipino but sometimes I forgot this trivia/history of my country. Thank you for this. Very informative.
5:07 in this part some of the museum prohibit taking photos with flashes especially in there personal papers like birth certificate or academic paperwork of the hero. It will affect the whole texture of the book of the paper, but some museums use facsimile type of the object. I've experienced to become a tour guide when we we're having an immersion or ( shorter OJT on the job training). Another reason why they prohibit Taking videos or photos because once the picture was uploaded in there social media or different platforms, and saw by the people they will no longer go there because they have seen the whole area or location in social media. Which will affect the other people who work under the tourism sector.
I've always heard about Intramuros from celebrities mentioning it on TV. All I know is that it's a historic place, never thought it was this big. It's my first time seeing what's inside actually. All I can see from the posters is the Wall. greetings from Cebu
I'm waiting for this vlog, thank you for loving the Philippines 🇵🇭
Sylvianatics are always here to support you 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️🤗🤗🤗
Try also to visit Fort San Diego...and the San augustin musuem and church and visit legaspis grave inside the church near the altar.. ...in intramuros...
Then try to visit binondo china town.. eat pinoy chinese food...
Next time you go there, go inside San Agustin Church and Casa Manila. Those are the most beautiful places inside Intramuros
10:51
The driver was telling a joke. He says they have 5 community(barangay) in that place. Just like USA where there is alot of states united. He changed the meaning of USA. Instead of United States of America, he changed it to United Squatters Area. Squatter means informal settlers.
as always very entertaining vlog😊😊😊 thanks for learning the history of our country🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 ❤️❤️❤️🇰🇷🇰🇷🇰🇷
Nice to see a foreigner wanting to learn about Philippine History.. while most pinoy kids nowadays just rely on tiktok and fb for information 😜
The last japanese who surrendered is Hiroo onoda, which he hid himself in the island of Lubang island which is an island near batangas and mindoro. He surrendered in 1974.
Your dedication to know more about philippines and Filipinos are beyond. You have my support forever.
glad you liked it sylvia!
Thanks for visiting and enjoying our place here in the Philippines.keep exploring!!!😊😊
Thank you Sylvia for the Philippines history, i grew up in Italy so i didn’t have the chance to study the history…
Also congrats for the amazing tour to manong, kuya Joel and Ricardo.
When i return to the Philippines i want to try the same expirience
Ps: Sylvia are you still in the Philippines? Did you extend your “10 days”?
Filipino soldiers who fought in the Korean War were called the PEFTOK, or the Philippine Expeditionary Forces TO Korea. There is actually a monument dedicated to the PEFTOK in South Korea, it's found at Sang-ri, Yeoncheon-eup, Yeongcheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do. 😊
Thanks for the virtual tour Sylvia. I've been to Intramuros many times but I know nothing about it aside from it's a walled city. Your guide is so informative and fun to be with. So is the kalesa driver. Hope you had fun while staying in the Phils
I am getting more homesick as I watched your video! Hope to see more vlog soon!
Thankyou for sharing this.. this is more than a vlog..its very informative. I like learning history..i want to go there too..but its far from our province.
10:41 Extramuros is a correct term though 😃 happy to see you in Intramuros Sylvia!! That place is indeed so rich in Philippine history!
Oh i thought he was entirely joking hahahhaa
@@SylviaKim woahh thank you for noticing me!! I mean technically it's correct but no one really uses that term in everyday conversation hehe 😅
Wow that tour guide is good 😶
Amazing content as always Sylvia ♥️🇵🇭
Slyvia can you try visiting and touring also Corregidor Island. You will also learn a lot of things there. Beautiful place to visit.
Happy that you are enjoying more being here in the Philippines. And for learning our culture and the history.
I got married in San Agustin Church, the oldest. Reception was at Fr Blanco's Garden. I think that's the place he pointed out.
I'm about to sleep but Sylvia posted a new video 5 minutes ago so forget about sleeping haha
I want to visit the philippines. Love from MEXICI
6:23 it's not corridor, it Corregidor, it is an island in the Ph. You can go there next time if you want to visit again.
When you go to Intramuros or in Vigan city in ilocos norte, it will give you a feel like you time travelled way back in time. 😁
Ang cute ni kuya, nakakagood vibes. Gusto ko ng ganyang tour guide
Miss Sylvia! U should see the very first and most prolific church establish in the Philippines: The Malolos Cathedral!
Hope u may see it!
Less than an hour travel from Manila. So u may know more about the history back then.
Enjoy your stay!
Where's Bokyung?! 😁😊😊😊💕
if you want a full immersion of 16th century Philippines... you might wanna visit Vigan. your only struggle is the long hours of driving/travel.
In fairness ang gagaling ng mga tour guides. Very spontaneous and entertaining.🤗❤️
Haha same. Kaka-aliw si manong tour guide😍 nakakamangha din at the same time💖
One of the best video log after you change name♥️🇵🇭
The tour guide said "we have 5 barangays inside intramuros". "Barangay" is a word derived from "balangay" because the "first" ppl who occupated the philippines (which are the Malay) came by a balangay which is like a big boat. A barangay is basically a town within a town. That is based on my stock knowledge hahaha. I recommend for u to search it na lang tho just to make infos accurate 😅
Thank you slyvia for exploring Philippines you can learn well about Philippine history etc.Im very appreciate about it or embrace Filipino culture, just enjoy staying here and more pictures.❤️🇵🇭 saranghae
I likethis type of tourist guide. Entertaining indeed
There's also a lot of tourist attractions in Marikina shoe museum, largest shoe in the world, Marikina Korean friendship park, Cafe kapitan it's a historical place
please visit Vigan, Baguio City, and Bicol and Cebu. It's has a lot of historic info about the Philippines there.
So beautiful there in that area
❤️❤️❤️ i just can't say/ express my joy/happiness in words after watching this vlog ❤️❤️❤️
💕
how i wish the govt will have a way to preserve and maintain these relics of our history.. a tidy bit of cleaning here and there for starters
Wow it's so nice that you were able to take this tour in Intramuros to really know the history of the Philippines. More power to your channel Sylvia! ❤️🤗
Finally ✨✨✨ puyat nmn ako kakahintay hahaha
