I got my Emira a couple weeks ago, no complaints so far, feels great to drive. I own a manual Emira and a 2023 Supra AT, completely different driving experiences.
I am a multi-Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and McLaren owner. When the Emira was first announced, I absolutely loved the look and the prospect of having a manual transmission Lotus in my collection. I put a deposit down on one the first day it was an option. After a nearly three year wait, I finally got mine. It’s Dark Verdant with tan interior V6-Manual and Diamond cut wheels. I have only had it for a few weeks, but I absolutely love it so far! It is very fun to drive, and the look from every angle is gorgeous! This gets way more attention than my Ferrari 296-GTB, and you could almost have five Emira’s for the cost of the spec on my 296. I am not sure there is a better cost option for fun and style out there, and I have owned a few Cayman variants (including a GTS version). They are fantastic cars, but they don’t have the looks or steering feel of the Lotus. I think you should absolutely add one to your collection, Docta. Besides, it will likely be the last Lotus with a petrol engine. Go for it!
I agree, the Emira is like my 84 308GTB that I still have before all the electronic assistances got in the way, may not be a fast car by today’s standard but really enjoyable to drive. BTW, my 2024 718S have been sitting in my office warehouse ever since I got my Emira
I have an Emira. Besides the HVAC fan resister failing, it is a great drivers car. You should get it because there soon won't be cars like this anymore.
@@DoctaM3 Yep, known issue and parts should be at the dealer in a day or two and ready for pick up two weeks after dropping off. Also has an EVAP (Charcoal canister) issue that lights up a CEL. Doesn't effect driving, and those parts will be in in June for a fix. Hopefully that will be it. Neither of those affect driving/mechanical. But I need AC in summer here in NC. Super fun car and everyone asks about it.
Something jumped out at me when I heard it. You said it's naturally aspirated. And then you pointed to the supercharger. Hmm... And that actuator you were talking about is the supercharger bypass valve.
DoctaM3 Great Video I think it's awesome that you might add a Lotus Emira to your Fleet and I think you definitely should and I hope to hear a good update on your Revuelto soon
@@DoctaM3 I wish I knew. If I was building the car, it would be easier to release this as the same power train as the Evora ASAP and work out the bugs on the others.
You can NEVER beat a mid engine, 4 wheels double wishbone suspension, Hydraulic steering rack and a manual transmission attached to a supercharged engine with this look all for around $110K. But it should not be you primary car since it's a Lotus😁. I just picked my Magma Red up yesterday, the next 1000 miles break-in will be painful 😣😣

Just got home from picking up my Emira! Great driving car!
Maybe this could replace the C8 one day for me. Loving the blue car with yellow stitching!
The buttons on the steering wheel are both physical and capacitive. And the V6 is supercharged, not naturally aspirated.

Are the blind spots problematic?

Yeap--I realized afterwards. Duh 😝
Definitely should get the Emira. The supercharged V6 toyota reliability plus manual. Last of it's kind in this era of hybrids/EVs.
Nice seeing you my friend ! I like the Lotus
First Lotus that has my attention . DoctaM3 opinion means a lot
That car looks amazing, Lotus has really upped the game with this thing. Did you get to drive one? If so, thoughts?
Recommendations on driving gloves?

Cool idea!
Cody, they're beautiful. I want one because they're a work of art. I just really wish Lotus would have increased the power.
I was surprised to learn that they didn't increase the power. Any idea why?

truth!
Dark Verdant is how I like it
V6 manual blue , don’t get the 4cyl AMG .
Should be in garage will he last gas powered manual from lotus
sadly, true.
They should at least give us the option to get an automatic
They do, automatics will be coming later for the V6, or as the only option with the AMG I4. I love my manual V6 though
I would add it with the V6. A go cart with 2 seats!
