Monterey works well ok on the10,1 imac.
I tried Ventura but after running the post install patch it will gets stuck on boot. I will stick with Monterey as I only upgraded from Catalina to get MS office to work. Might try again later this year.

Thank God I was able to install Ventura from Mojave & it is now running okay. I could not upgrade to Catalina or Big Sur so almost gave up.Now apart from some issues that came with the upgrade, some letters on my Bluetooth keyboard is not working! Not sure why! Can’t type in my password.

Thank you. Very informative video. According to your list, my iMac will support an upgrade (iMac High Sierra, Retina 5K, 27 inch, 2017) to Ventura. However, I cannot find the link you referenced which addressed compatible software. I'd like to check that first before upgrading. How does an upgrade affect cloud-based software or does it? Thank you for sharing your expertise.

Wow. Great video. Thanks a bunch. I was able to install on my macbook pro 2012. (1) However, apps like Google Meet, zoom and Microsoft Team couldn't access my microphone and camera. I tried everything possible yet not working even in system preference ->privacy... the apps are not showing up there. (2) I could not install Ventura Security updates too. Got an error not supported. What could be the possible fix? Any help. Thanks a bunch, once more.

hey MrMac, really appreciate these videos. I was always a windows guy up to 4 months ago when i switched to mac. It was a process relearning the OS system, and then of course i quickly learned the version of mac wasnt supported with the later versions of os. thanks to your easy to follow steps of how to bypass the system via open core patcher, I have been able to use my mac as a normal mac ever since. I now need to upgrade to Ventura. Will I still need to follow the Opencore patch route or can I just upgrade from system preferences? huge thanks

    • @Mr.Macintosh
      @Mr.Macintosh  Год назад +1

Hello Celtic Distortion! I'm glad to hear that! I grew up on windows and it will always hold a place for me, but I've moved on 100% to macOS. For your upgrade, OCLP supports updates in system preferences ie. 12.6 to 12.6.2 but does not support upgrades ie 12.6 to 13.0+. To upgrade you need to create a OCLP Ventura USB Boot disk and boot to it. Once in recovery click on upgrade to ventura. This will retain all your info and apps, don't forget to backup your files first before upgrading.

I have successfully updated my Late 2014 5K iMac to Ventura, my M1 Max 16' mbP is also on Ventura now. But I can't use the iMac as a display - just the mbP is enabled as a display for the iMac. I'd much rather it worked both ways or the other way around. Is this even possible? Currently my only option is to 'Link keyboard and mouse to iMac' - the iMac doesn't show on 'Mirror or extend to' option. I would love to share a window from the mbP over to the 5k iMac display!
    Thank you

12:34 does this chart mean that if you're 12.3 or newer, the full installer CAN'T be used, or just that is doesn't HAVE to be used? Currently version 14 is already out, but I want to upgrade only to 13. If I use the delta upgrade in settings, it would put me on 14. Can I use the 13 installer on 12.7?

Hello Tosca, to downgrade to catalina you will need to create a macOS Catalina usb installer. Backup all your data then boot to that Catalina USB installer so you can erase and reinstall Catalina.

Hey Mr. Macintosh! I have tried looking around but I can’t get a concrete answer. Some of my Mac’s are running Monterrey and they’ve been updated using OpenCore patcher. To upgrade to Ventura, do I have to go through the entire process all over again creating the Ventura bootable drive and the installation that way, or can I just update the OS from the Mac’s update window? I really appreciate your help!

VERY IMPORTANT - Mr Machintosh, I don't know what else to do I've tried everything I've spent more than 5 hours trying to solve the problem with bluetooth. I have Mac Pro 2008 and I installed MacOS Monterey version 12.6.1 and I can't connect the blutooth, I can't even turn it on, I already downloaded the blutooth explorer and even then I don't see any controller. When I say I've done everything, it's everything. I also bought a USB Hideez USB Bluetooth Adapter for macOS and it still doesn't work. Another question how can I downgrade to BigSur using opencore, remember that I use Mac Pro 2008, if you can help me I will be grateful, thanks

My mac came with High Sierra, first i upgraded to montery, fine that worked but then in the updates there was a message saying i could upgrade to Ventura, i did that and then things really got bad, at restart i had two partitions wiith Montery and Ventura, in Ventura everything was slow as heck ! My mouse freezed all the time…….some functions did not work anymore like my Wifi……….so i erased my mac and went back to High Sierra ! Why should you upgrade an old Mac to a modern system ? 😂

Respectfully ik a rare thing right, but just because you can doesn't mean you should. You installed Monterey natively or not but you missed Ventura is a hack for every Mac not officially supported via Apple. Which means if you put Ventura on an unsupported Mac that OCLP does not support then you are on your own. Apple did not by happen chance omit virtually every Mac pre- 2015 with Ventura, they changed so much its literally remarkable that we still have method to install it on our defunct devices at all. You smartly did a dual install but Ventura is not be optimized and thats the problem, OCLP at this time can't change that.

You can just use a backup to downgrade, no?
How to downgrade macOS Ventura to Monterey with Time Machine?
This approach is only available for the users that have the complete backup of the previous macOS Monterey. With Time Machine backup, you can perform this reinstallation without effort.
Connect your Time Machine drive to your Mac.
    Restart your Mac.
For Apple Silicon Mac: press and hold the Power button until you see the startup screen. Then, choose Options > Continue.
For Intel-based Mac: press and hold Command + R until you see the Apple logo.
Choose Restore from Time Machine Backup, and then tap the Continue button.
Select your Restore Source, and then click Continue.
Select the backup you want to restore from.
Follow the prompts to complete the reinstallation, then restore your files from your backup drive.

I have to empty the cookie and restart the computer to work normally in Monterrey that never happened to me
