- There’s many times we buy a King Cake, and it goes uneaten. Decided to make a bread pudding with this one, and holy cow it was amazing!

What is leftover king cake? Never heard of it!!😂

King cake is a blend of coffee cake & cinnamon roll. It's usually made around Mardi Gras season, which is just before Lent leading into Easter weekend. A traditional king cake has purple, green & yellow sugar crystals sprinkled all over the top. Sometimes stuffed with fruit fillings or cheese & a small baby. If you get the piece with the baby you have to bring the next cake. Bon appetit. 👩🦳😊

They ought not be able to call them “stale bread sugar topped grocery store dried things” a king cake! I saw where someone out here said “i dont know what yall like about them dried up french breads with sugar on ‘em” and the real ppl came for her!

We used to make this at the Baton Rouge River Center except we used donuts and pastries left over from breakfast.

Got a king cake from Walmart, realized later it was made in Florida…what?!, no wonder it was dry with no flavor, an empty hole in the center where the cream cheese was supposed to be… I think this recipe is too good for this king cake, I will buy another and let it go stale 😂
