Brandy I enjoy you so much. I feel like you should have at least a hundred thousand subscribers. You're always spot-on and make beautiful painted furniture.
This was so very helpful. I've been too nervous to try using resin until I just watched your video. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!
I just found your videos, FB, etc. You are incredible and a wonderful teacher, I've learned so much & I've chalk painted furniture/items for years! Thanks so much!
I would have been a intimidated to try the resin but absolutely will now! Thanks so much!!! I had tried the air dry clay and didnt like the results so Ive been using polymer clay and baking! Thanks again Brandy!
Greetings from Chico! Been watching you obsessively since being in quarantine & now following you on all formats. Woke up at 3:30 recently, unable to sleep, so I binge-watched your vids for about 4 hours, stalked your insta, then painted the most beautiful piece in my portfolio. Thank you for the inspiration - you're ridiculously talented!
Morning! I have a quick question re: resin which is all I use for moulds :) Once the moulds are done and set aside in a box can they be moulded, shaped or will they always remain solid ? What technique or trick can be used to manipulate the mould once hardened....IF this is even possible ! Thanks for all the fabulous videos! You rock !
Brandy- I love your work and your videos are so helpful! Thank you for the time you put in for us! Three questions: 1. How do you pour precisely to get into the intricate moulds? I'm using Hollybrook Ironworks. 2. How do you clean up castings if you overflow? 3. How do you save castings if you screw up the mix and they form but have some sticky, uncured resin on them? Thank you!
1. I prefer to under pour than over pour, drizzle slowly from a spout at the end, use a pin or toothpick to push into details 2. Can use a pair of nail scissors to cut away excess 3. Can use mineral spirits to clean them, but I usually consider those a loss
@@BrushedbyBrandy Thank you! Pour spout... Game changer! I soaked them in Dawn dish soap and hot water and scrubbed with a nail brush, picked out the remaining bits with a toothpick. Moulds and castings saved.
I love this… I am ready to play with Resin! A cupful questions… is there any specific paint that works well with the resin molds and how well do they hold up with Paint like if I want to use a chalk paint?
I just found your video and I’m a beginner. 😊 Why is my resin setting up before I pour it? I know you only have a small time frame but it’s hard before I get it in mold. Thanks for your response. 😊
It definitely sets up fast. Your .ix being slightly off can impact it. It's a heat reaction, so temperature matters. Older resin sets up differently. I'd say try mixing smaller batches and just stir 30 seconds and get it poured quickly
I recently bought this casting resin. Used it for the first time today. When I removed the casted pieces after they cured. I immediately noticed there were many, very noticeable bubble holes on the surface and edges of the castings. How do I stop these bubble holes from happening?
Temperature is very Important with resin, it's a thermal reaction. Check the dates on your containers too. Could also be a moisture issue, water can cause bubbling
Been watching for a bit, going to try resin molds today, have used hot glue gun, not bad, different caulks...the cheapest is best but 3 to 4 day dry time, didn't care for the expensive store molding clay, after your video I will try out my resin. I practice a lot of things on those $5 GD wooden boxed....can't wait for a surf prep...maybe for Xmas, still working on getting my studio together. I used to make things out of the water/salt/flour mix....might try that next time.
Brandy can you please help. I can't get this kind of epoxy in Spain. If I order it on amazon it takes 6 weeks. Can I use the crystal clear one to put on furniture or is that to smooth.
Hi Brandy, can you tell me if there is an alternative cast resin instead of Amazing as I cannot get it in Ireland unless I pay over 60 euro including post. Thanks
Thank you so much. I am 3 tears behind, having just bought one mould yesterday May 2023! Thank you for showing the type of resin to use. 😊
Lol same here! Gallon buys only! Proms moulds are amazing! Jus so pricey! But u can’t beat the detail and quality!

I agree on 100k, where are they all, lol 😆
Gorgeous!
Thank you so much for sharing honey! xoxo
Thank you for letting us know prima has new moulds.... I live in Australia and have pre-order the moulds which arrive 19 March....so excited

Resin is gar less scary than it seems

Thanks for this video. I bought the supplies and it was really easy to do.
That is awesome news, so glad to hear
Where can we purchase the casting resin in gallon size?

It's super easy

I feel like you haven't been on recently, I have definitely missed you and your style. Cant wait to try the resin. Thank you, Vicki Lynn
where do you get the gallon size resin?
Did you get a new camera? Video quality is so good here :) Thanks as always for great videos, you are my go to for furniture painting!
Are the resin appliques flexible?

What do you use to glue them to your piece of furniture? Are they bendable to go around a curve?

I usually paint right over them. You can use a primer if they'll get a lot of rubbing

What about paper clay?
Would it be easy to use?
hello where do u buy the resin? Thank you

Brandy I’ve been using the mounds with paper clay and I’m struggling. I can’t get the shit out!! I’ve even used the corn starch method.
You can let th set up a bit in the mould, then pop out after a bit once the clay has dried some

Resin is definitely my first choice for moulds
@@BrushedbyBrandy Resin is awesome! I'm addicted.
Brandy can you please help. I can't get this kind of epoxy in Spain. If I order it on amazon it takes 6 weeks. Can I use the crystal clear one to put on furniture or is that to smooth.
You can use clear resin, just takes far longer to set up in the moulds
Hi Brandy, what do you use if you need the casted mould to be flexible? I want to attach it to a curvy part of my piece?
Attach it what resin is fresh. Can use heat to add some flex, bit it's never quite as bendy again
@@BrushedbyBrandy, do you have any videos where you have done that with fresh resin?
You can add like 30/15 ratio, 15 being hardener part B and the molds are pretty soft, not rock hard and it makes them a lot more flexible
Hi Brandy, can you tell me if there is an alternative cast resin instead of Amazing as I cannot get it in Ireland unless I pay over 60 euro including post. Thanks
There are other brands with similar products, not sure what is available in Ireland. Air dry clay or hot glue are also options
How do you paint resin moulds ? sorry I'm new too this
They paint easily, can prime if you'll be wiping over them, but I usually don't prime
@@BrushedbyBrandy thanks for getting back too me, and I'm gonna take your advice ✌️
I’m not seeing the big jugs of the amazing resin that dries in 10 minutes
Just the small
Boxes.

Hi! What brand of resin do you use?
Amazing casting resin from Alumilite
www.alumilite.com/?oid=3&affid=89
@@BrushedbyBrandy Thanks. I don’t think I can use it because I’m extremely sensitive to chemicals. I think I’ll try the glue stick method.
