Guys!!! This came out so dope. The details on the Sakura flowers 🥰 I loved this build from the beginning and now even more. Can’t wait to see this in action 👍
I did like the first iteration of the sept symbol, but I guess the second is more streamlined. The petals are the sphere expansions while the circle, or core, is the tau homeworld.
So impressed with how fast and well Dave has made progress with digital modelling. It's very inspiring and I love watching the process. This is something really unique that TTT has showed me here. Thanks again for these videos and great work Dave!
I loved seeing the progression of 3D modeling from you, Dave! You're continually making huge strides in your skills and it's fun to see! This is also one of my favorite schemes ever, and it looks just beautiful on the model. I have nothing but compliments! Amazing job, Dave, Jenn and Murray!
Oh yeah, love these videos! Custom armies are the best. As for resin printing in cold weather, many people swear by heating the resin up by submerging the bottle in a hot water bath before printing, and then letting the heat generated by the printing process do the rest of the work in keeping the resin warm.
. . . Dave. You’re making me seriously consider getting into Tau. And I can’t afford that! These parts look stunning. I love the two shields the most, I think. A good, eye-catching banner is lovely to me.
Regarding printing in the cold, I can recommend a vat band, been printing throughout this Tassie winter and it's been great resin stays at around 25 degrees and the prints have been perfect, which was not the case last winter without the band
Why does it look cute? Maybe it's the three "eyes", and how it is peaking over the edge of that shield? And kudos for editing in those assembly sounds!
RE: temperature and adhesion and stuff - there are a few things you can do to alleviate this problem. Some people have had success with using home-brewing thermal belts, wrapped around the vat, to keep the vat and rein temperature warm. Others get grow-tents for plants, and put the entire printer in there. Just a thought!
You guys should consider a small heater for in side your resinprinter enclosure. It heats up the resin and the enclosure. The heater contains a Thermostat so the temperature is fairly constant. Google resin printer heater and you'll find the heater under several brandnames. They all look the same. Snazzy white with a red display
I love you guys but if that was a standard town water piped sink, print water down the drain is a big no no. Even using 'water washable' the water still needs to be treat exactly the same as dirty ipa would be (let it mostly evaporate and then dispose of the solid/semisolid remains at a disposal site).
Once again I'll recommend the channel Artisans of Vaul for guides on making stuff in Blender for 3D printing specifically for 40k scale wargaming (28-32mm), I highly recommend his video "the Do's and Dont's of Booleans' for beginners.
That *shiiing* sound effect hurt my ears being used throughout the whole video, but the end result looked pretty dope! The samurai/sakura theme came together beautifully on the model(s), and is fitting the wh40k theme nicely. Now all we need is a new campaign with it! (Perhaps a roleplay session with the models included?)
The question isn't if rope looks weird on a mech. Is it as ridiculous as anything Gundam has done? lol love how the Sa-Kura have evolved it's like watching how Jazza made the space bears simple conversions are great but then things evolved great video!!
I tried to contact you on your website regarding these files. Am I being stupid but I can't figure out how to join the leg plate to the tau hip? my file doesn't contain a part, neither does the pics on the website and it doesn't fit over the existing upper leg. Thank you!
Yeah....be VERY careful with that, you're going to want to fully enclose the printer and then have an extractor sucking out the fumes if you're printing in a space you frequently use (like in a studio apartment). Resin fumes are hellaciously toxic and we don't know the long term affects of exposure to resin fumes (either way it's not going to be good). Considering most people wear a respirator whilst taking out their prints/pouring in the resin...so yeah just...be very careful.
@@luketfer thanks man! That’s a great idea. I’ve been playing with the idea of buying a lab hood and then hook up a few extra fans to vent the room properly.
i was really hoping youd change the katana to be sheathed blade facing up the way real samurai had it, i know its a small thing but it bothers me to no end lmao
Just a heads up, you are not supposed to be pouring resin or the water you rinse your prints down the drain. its bad for the water supply, read the safety sheets on resin its nasty stuff.
Did you cured the miniature before washing it down the sink ???? If not, never EVER wash an uncured resin down the drain ! Even washable ones ! The water need to be disposed correctly !
looks fuckin awesome, on another note you okay dave? you look pretty tired. keep up the great work so long as yall make sure to get some sleep (idk maybe im projecting)
Have you considered adding an apostrophe to the Sept name, something like Sa'kura? Feels just a tiny bit more T'au to me. Regardless, these are all pretty sick conversions Dave!
Fun fact, medieval Japan didn't have mass battles, so they didn't develop traditional shields like we see in the rest of the world. In fact, their large shoulder pads are a substitute for shields.
Fun fact: You're wrong. Ancient Japan used handheld shields, but they were phased out from around 500 AD and onwards when cavalry and later the introduction of the samurai caste proved the most efficient power modifier on the battlefield. Handheld shields are ineffective against cavalry, so the foot-soldiers (later Ashigaru) became mostly pikemen. They did still use stationary shields though, for their archers and later musketeers. Another fun fact: The T'au were inspired by China, not Japan.
@@XYZdude00 You said they didn't have mass battles, they did. You said they didn't develop traditional shields, they had but they weren't useful anymore.
Do y'all not know that the T'au were inspired by Communist China, not Japan? The Aeldari were the ones based on feudal Japan, and the Drukhari based on their imperial militarist period.
yikes.... when are these ads gonna stop. I mean, get that bread but half the video is *Insert shot of Dave with MSI laptop*. And that's on top of a 2 minute ad in the middle of the video
Power Your Tool, with MSI! msi.page/PowerYourToolxTabletopTime (spon)
I would love to see that shield done with larger petals printed in a clear pink resin, like the petals were an energy projection
I hope the shield spins and the petals expand out with an energy shield kinda like the sith umbrella saber 😅
I’m so glad someone finally does tau!
love that you went the extra mile and made sure all of the fabric was flowing the same direction that was always one of my biggest pet peeves
Yea! This is what the hobby is all about! I love the customised parts! Amazing work!
Very true that is what our Hobby is about.

Please keep this going the Tau need the love desperately 😂 love your conversions
Really love the continual updates on this army! Defintely more refined and is increasingly becoming more unique with each model/unit yall tackle
They should totally continue this series by customizing all the various tau units. Would love to see like an oni xv-88.

Yes i have been waiting for more sakura tau content this is one of the best the convertions are so sick
Sooo happy to see more Sakura sect. I love the Astra Primursa but I can’t wait to see more from the Sakura and Hive Fleet Jotunn
This Tau series keeps delivering, very impressive progress in Blender!
Wow I love the designs for the tau bit they look awesome.
I wish there were more tau mech kitbashes, It seems like the perfect kit to convert
Glad you updated your Tau bits

The upgrade looks amazing
Well, you've inspired me to pick up Blender again and start sculpting! Thank you :)
I would love to see a video about diffrent factions like the tau but with a nurgle plauge marine sort of vibe
I am aware i spelt plague wrong
Really Really cool! I love the samurai setting
I cant wait to see what you do to make your own Commander farsight!
I hope that Mari and Jen make their own custom factions to fight the Sakura and Space Bears
Love the custom parts! 😊

Upvote for all the shots of Dave's concentrated face staring at the laptop :)
The suit looks amazing :D
You should keep this series going
This is amazing I love the samurai theme! How do you get the default panels to build the new plates from with the correct size?
Does make me want to do a tau army... which is something I never thought I'd say.
These looks so unbelievably goof

the support-removal asmr
Please do a space bear vs Sakura sept rematch! It would be so sick with all the new models!!!
For the Greater Good!
That looks awesome!!
Really cool army project,!
Could these perhaps be upscaled for larger battlesuits?
Hacker Jen and Mobile Working Dave 😄😄😄😄👍

I am a big fan of this Sakura Tau faction....
Which figure type would be best wielding a kanabō? always thought it would make a good ray melee weapon.
Looks awesome
Really cool 😮
We gotta get farsight in this army, he would look dope with these mods and In this color scheme.
Ohh maybe you can make Melee tau using Power Nodachi or power Naginata
Now just need a version of farsight and sakura drones

Im getting Ghibli's Castle in the Sky vibes, maybe its the eye sensors but they kind of look like the Robots from the movie.
Just got into 3 D printing and quickly realized that I’d have to spend an addition 30 to 40 dollars and get a vent for the room I’m 3D printing in.

The rope is Carbon nanotube cables, my kroot spy tells me
unfortunately since these bits are commercially available 3d printable files now. GWs rules wont allow the sakura sept on the table. QwQ
More table top time
All i can see is that the missile is so much shorter than its can. Why?
Are they Chinese Samurai?

Space marines as Oni.

Nifty
🥳❤️👍🏿
Commander farsighted with an O Dachi? (Japanese great sword)
Just being nosy, is Jen and David a couple? That would be really nice because they seem to compliment each other.

@@TabletopTime I'm a man of subtlety what can I say 🤷♂? But I respect the grind
Literally, the channel was doing fine. Why is it only possible now? Just curious
You make me want to buy Tau again.. STOP IT!
So bad I love your adds ha ha
awesome as always, these videos arent healthy for my wallet.
perhaps that guy was right about the greater good?
Copying Pete the wargamer’s thumbnail again are we?
Early can i get a hi
i commented
Damn that thumbnail is copied from Pete the wargamer so hard
Keep doing these videos until you make a full army
