Nice review. However regards the log mode. I have worked with Sony S log 3 & I have worked with Fujifilm f log. I honestly feel Fujifilm log is much easier to grade & the magenta look in Sony is a pain when correcting
8:10 is a known issue, because Fujifilm applies High iso noise reduction by default in camera, and you have to turn down that setting to -4. The shadows will look less mushy and a lot cleaner.
I was a Sony shooter for 15 years(started with old alphas and before). When Covid was sold my all camera gear. Beginning of summer friend of mine “borrowed” me his xt4, before he sell it. I felt in love with photography again like never before. I bought his camera😂 and still shooting with it every day for the reasons what you mentioned. I love the shutter sound, the colors, film simulations. I can shoot good looking videos without any grading for family moments.

Your video was suggested to me due to testing the X-H2S (I own the camera). I LOVE your style of honest review. I don't have any preference to any brand and would own one from all manufacturers if I could justify it (the last Sony I owned was the RX100M2, quite enjoyed it). But being a mere hobbyist who also hardly shoots any video, I truly can't! Fuji fits me for what it offers currently. What I can say is that I NEVER got on with the 16-80 lens that you used here. I wanted to love it but the distortion at the wide end and the softness of the photos did not impress me (and the f4 was a bit slow). The new f1.4 primes (I own the 33) are STUPID good! Subscribed.

Since you seem to enjoy using the XH2s for photography more than video, I’m thinking you would have preferred the XH2 [with identical ergonomics] with its 40 megapixels even more! Just curious, do you use a hybrid Sony camera for still and video (if so which one)? Really enjoyed your review.
I always love your videos!! Whenever I save up enough money, I want to upgrade my Canon M50 to something that elevates my videos/photos and is more fun haha. The FUJIFILM cameras really does look so fun... but Sony... I DON'T KNOW WHAT MY SPIRIT IS lol. Anyways, thank you for your great videos and thoughts!
Eventually I realized that I am a Sony guy right now. But Fuji cameras are just so much fun!!
The shutter sound you love is actually coming from a speaker. You can turn it off in the settings and listen to the nearly silent mechanical shutter sound. I love it.

I own both X-H2S and X-E4. Really recommend the X-E4, especially its minimalistic. I'm going out almost every day with X-E4 😉 Taking pictures with modified Disposable Lens is really big fun! By the way my sister has used my X-T3 and X-E4 for a few days. She said she love the X-E4!
I tried X-E4 eventually and I LOVED it so much!!!
It just makes me wanna go out more!
I'd love to hear your take on this camera vs. Sony's FX30 (specifically video) since you got to spend time with both (Battle of the APS-Cs!). I currently own the FX30, but keep going back-and-forth on whether or not I want to switch over to the X-H2S.

H26,canon 6 mark ii, or any other suggestion. I also take pictures occasionally great content
It would be FX3 because I'm so used to Sony cameras.
i owned x100v (my first fuji camera) for about 2 years, and it made me fall in love with photography as a hobby so much more, so i decided to sell my canon R and bought a fuji xt4 (i didnt really like the fixed lens on x100v). dont get me wrong the x100v is an outstanding camera but if i have to choose again i'd rather pick the xe4 or maybe xpro3. i chose xt4 over the xe4 or xpro3 because of IBIS and the back screen (for landscape)
x100v looks so sick!!
But if I go for a compact fixed-lens camera, I would choose GRIIIx because of the size. But X-E4 has the joy of changing lenses.

I thought F4 was even better for LL performance test because now the camera is only thing that we rely on.

XｰH2Sと似た様な性能でProResが撮れるS5IIXと迷ってるのですが、比較した時にAPSｰC機のデメリットは気になりませんか？(ダイナミックレンジなど)S5IIも結局60pでクロップかかりますし、肌色がマゼンタすぎる気がするので動画性能と写真の色味を考えたらFujiだと思うのですがどうでしょうか？
僕はブランド関わらずAPSCのデメリットをあんまり感じないタイプですが、色味はFUJI好みですね。
ただLUMIXのほうがオールラウンダーな気がします

In my opinion FX30 has higher performance average than X-H2S. I can trust it more.
But it's just that X-H2S is more fun!

@@castielvargastv7931 I have an X-H2S and didn't try the FX30. BUT...from what I've read the FX30 is video awesome (due in a major way to the videocentric autofocus and exposure reliability) and the X-H2S is VERY good. The X-H2S should beat it in stills for sure but the Sony should win for video.
Try the X-T30 II, you will love it ……….

You should've gotten a LM lens for a fair review! All the LM lenses all have insanely good autofocus due to the internal LM motors for smooth buttery focus pulling etc. Autofocus performance on Fuji is like 40% body firmware and 60% lenses. If you want the best AF, anything labeled "LM" will give you it.
Also for the lowlight performance Interframe noise reduction and internal noise reduction even though it says its set to 0 as in you think it's off, it's still on at 0.
Setting it to -4 and Interframe noise reduction to off gives you an incredibly clean image that cleans up with DR noise reduction. (same unfortunately applies for photos) High iso to -4 will net you sharper photos.
Another thing, I hope you had the camera in boost mode for a fair comparison, I know I know it's stupid that "boost mode" isnt just on by default but fuji cameras give you so much customization its almost bad but boost def would help the AF.
In terms of log performance I am sad that the XH2s has ISO 1250 as the base and the XH2 has 1000 but FLOG2 actually has better shadow recovery than the sony's SLOG3 (ive used both and a lot of tests have showed that)

Your low light test 🤔 Your footage is shot using an f4 lens. Try faster lens like a 2.8 or 1.4. Would make a big difference.

Hi sensei, thanks for making this review. I also dipped my toes into fujifilm, and the experience is more fun compared to Sony, but i definitely agree that for video performance, Sony does better in some ways.
Hopefully you can make another Fujifilm review especially XT5 and cover what if you use lenses outside fujifilm's list that supports 40MP

RV would be better in term of low light and resolution stuffs.
But I think A7IV will work for your purpose.
Fujifilm still can improve the firmware more, but the raw specs are just not comparable with the FX30. It has more dynamic range, 3:2 open gate which is good for cropping 16:9 or 9:16 for YT/IG etc. I hope they can keep working on it.
The exposure change when zooming has been there since forever, no idea when Fujifilm will fix it. Basically the aperture blades are not moving fast/smooth enough to keep exposure constant. E.g. At 16mm f/4, the aperture opening is 4mm and at 80mm f/4 it is 20mm opening. Never seen it on other systems except Fuji.
I'm sure they will improve it better and better in a near future!!
I like the XH2S Stacked sensor. It helps minimize rolling shutter issues. Sony is precision and Fuji is weekend driver.

LMAO. When a Sony user realizes out of camera footage doesn't have to have terrible colour and be oversharpened....
I own the XH2S and I find the footage to be overly too sharp. It doesn’t have an OLPF. It’s an easy fix in post.
Also, Sony colour science has improved a lot in the newer cameras and I think they’re fine.
@@Christo_glenn I always just set the Sharpening and Noise Reduction to -4 in the settings.
So obviously the default settings on Fuji are still a bit too sharp for my liking, but I find Sony cameras to have a significant oversharpened look, not just being too sharp (there are lots of high end cameras like RED that are super sharp) but having shapening that looks fake.
Panning shots from Fujifilm cameras are just awful to be honest
