    I've been using Fuji for years for my channel. I wanted 2 things: a bit more resolution for my landscapes and auto modes and AF that worked for solo content creation. Back in August I didn't think Fuji would come up to speed anytime soon, so I bought some Sony's and I got what I wanted. BUT, Fuji made quite the leap with the H's and I bought both and sold off the Sony's. The eye AF is as good as or better than Sony and the auto WB and exposure during solo video works now compared to my XT4's. No crop 4k120 is a lot of fun as well on the XH2s. They're smaller, lighter and less expensive as well. Life is good!

      @@ozancelik3801 I've been a professional photographer for over 35 years. with video I'm just a RUclips content creator. Having said that, I think the 4K120 looks great. The IBIS is great for stills and good for video, but it's not a gimbal. I tend to use a tripod instead of IBIS anyway, though, I'm old school.

    Great feedback on what they need to do for video. Fujifilm is so close. The quality is unreal, especially for the price. A big firmware update would be the biggest move they could make for the video space aside from rehousing it in a cine style body with internal ND's etc

    Hi Gajan! I just want to throw in a comment for the algorithm to appreciate how well you've articulated your thoughts for the rest of us and how being a fan of a brand (any brand of any product line, not just limited to photography) does not exclude one to present not only positives but also call out short comings of a system without being either false or whiney about them. Very fine presentation with class, which many RUclips reviewers should take note of. Thank you for sharing 👍

    Been vacillating back and forth between this the XT-5. But I think I’m going to make the on the XH2s. I’ve seen and researched enough. Especially as it pertains to my own personal projects. I truly believe you can use this for professional work as well and get more than adequate results from what I’ve seen. Huge commercial shoots? Maybe as a B-camera. But for that, get a C70 as your main. I think this is a hybrid for creators and isn’t a true all-in cinema camera. The lack of opening for a D-Tap is a tough one. Hard to forgive that. But I still think it’s amazing. Coupled with the X100V this will round out my system and workflow. Great vid, brother!

    I love how you noted the 'kind' of noise Fujifilm has in video. While there is certainly visible noise at 6400+ ISO on my X-T4, it doesn't look nearly as nasty as many other camera's digital noises that I've used. I rarely even feel the need to de noise even up to 8000 ISO.

    This camera is everything I thought it would be AND MORE. Jumping from the xt4 to the xh2s was a big leap forward to me. The 4k60 is impeccable, much better than the xt4. The 6.2k open gate prores HQ looks like something you would see on a cinema screen. The low light capability is great all the way up to 8k ISO very very clean. The 4k120 looks really good not soft, not weird it looks great. The camera is super fast in every single way. Fuji hit a home run here. I use this camera on all my pro video work.

    I do agree that if fuji film wants to make xh line professional for video making and larger production, a revamp of the menu and internal nd system with integraded fan is a must. On the other hand, although we do assume that the false color, wave form, and other cinema features should be present for a professional video camera, fujifilm is not calling their camera a cinema camera. On the other side, if you look at sony and canon, who also sells hybrid cameras, they are not that great either and even missing some features that are present on xh2s, such as internal prores recording with selection of codec, full size hdmi, and an option to have active cooling. Take a7s3 and eos r5 as great examples, both market them as video and hybrid cameras, they are missing nd and false color as well, no active colling system, and their menues are just ok either. So, if you feel desrespectful from fuji, please also blame other companies like sony and canon who are doing something even worth as well, I think fuji is still trying to make xh2s more for sports/bird/action photographers as well as for more advance individuals and small studios, but overall this is still a hybrid device, and fuji is lacking experience in making cinema systems. On the other hand, both sony and canon have their cinema line up and tons of experiences, yet they even did relativly worse than fuji in the same price range. Thus, I feel the same thing as you do, but don't fell disrespectful from fujifilm

    • @Eyeofkamau
      @Eyeofkamau 2 года назад +1

      Disagree with the fan part. The optional fan is far more ideal in my opinion. It gives the same results without making the camera 2x thicker by default. Not everyone is going to push it to the point where they need cooling, so being forced to have an even more chunky camera when majority of people are in apsc for the size and weight advantage will be counterproductive. If they make a cinema camera, then yeah a built in fan is necessary, but not for these types of all-in-one xh cameras. It will be better to create one more seperate line of cinema dedicated cams for that

    • @frankhu8692
      @frankhu8692 2 года назад +3

      xh2 has way bigger buffer rate, other than that, it has a better and larger evf and higher resoluton flip out screen, if you need to do more burst shots and wish to wait less and keep shooting for your wedding style, then xh2 makes a difference, plus if you want to shoot video for wedding also, xh2 has full size hdmi + better recording codac/capability + optional active cooling unit. Other than that, if you feel like xt3's buffer and speed is good enough for you, but yout need higher resolution, better auto focuse, or you need the evf/screen and handheld feeling to be better, or any more video shooting with better cooling better codac, xh2 is the go

    Great overview Gajan. I just keep waiting for a Fuji digital cinema camera. I have three X-T3s so I don’t need a hybrid camera, I need this camera in a box form. I love everything about it but I’m missing waveform, dual Zebras, XLRs, built in variable NDs, TC I/O. Fuji could capture a good chunk of the video market if they’d do this and charge $4k for it.

    • @JungleCatImages
      @JungleCatImages 2 года назад +1

      I didn't know that.. I'm very used to having exposure compensation on the front dial on both my X-T2 and X-E3.. I often shoot 2 cams and really don't want to have to think about 2 different layouts

    • @Eyeofkamau
      @Eyeofkamau 2 года назад

      100% agree. I have ss to front dial, iso to back dial and Aperture controled via lens.
      Now I have an unused command dial since all my lenses have aperture rings. Would much rather prefer to still have the option to map iso to back dial rather than the option being completely stripped away. Makes absolutely no sense and setting iso to any other button to “make it easier” like some suggest still doesn’t suffice, it’s still significantly slower than using a command dial.
      I have my iso set to the up and down dpad buttons. It’s quick but I still can’t stand the 3 step process of pressing a button, scrolling, and then selecting the desired iso all without being able to see a live view of my exposure scale. And I don’t like the vertial orientation of the iso menu. Takes up way too much screen space imo, and is confusing when they give the option to scroll the comman dial to select the iso. The dial moves left to right but the menu goes up and down lol. Fuji is absolutely incredible but they’re all of the place with this part. Really looking to a big change.

    I appreciate your call for transparency on Fuji's information thy share with us on the video side of things. As a video guy, I wish so bad I had a deeper understanding of ISO response like how Blackmagic shares stops of dynamic range per ISO value so you can understand not only how many stops of usable dynamic range you have at each ISO value, but how many stops in the highlights and the shadows you have at each ISO value. To me this is basic information a company taking video serious should have. When I'm at a wedding and start the ceremony at 2:00 pm under direct sunlight and finish the night at 10:00pm on an unlit dance floor I want to know how my ISO will respond in those situations and what information I will be able to pull out when I get back home in the editing room. I feel like I'm rambling but I love Fuji and I want to be informed so I can be as good as I can be right when I get the camera rather than have my clients pay for my mistakes just so I can learn from them.

They don't care that a new CEO was brought in to save Fuji from going under and that this camera will bring new customers in from Canon, Sony and Nikon, precisely because it doesn't look like my great granddad's camera. This is a pro camera that can deliver for the sport and wildlife photographer, hence the new 150-600 which fits the new camera superbly.
    I know nothing about video and have no interest in it and I wish I could rip it out of this camera so I could buy it at a lower price. It is such a waste for me to buy one, but I am going to. Because this camera is the camera that takes over from Canon's 7D Mk2. Where Canon failed miserably, Fuji have succeeded. Congrats Fuji

      I hear you, but that’s not what Fujifilm’s marketing for this camera was focused on. A lot of it was featuring directors and DPs using this in cinema environments. Most of my conversations with them were about the video features. So while I hear you, the reality is that Fujifilm wants to attract enthusiast and pro video users but falls short there in some key ways.

      @@GajanBalan Then, I guess they dropped the ball, again......................... The pre-production models went out to a lot of wildlife and sports guys, to then not follow that up is.......................well so Fuji. Create an amazingly fast hybrid that has reach and release with a 150-600 and then not major it in wildlife and sports is ............................ leming like.
      Are they going to pull lots of customers from Nikon, Canon or Sony with video? The market that it could rip into is sports and wildlife, expecially for the enthusiast.

    Hi Gahan, I love your channel and I would like to bring something to your attention.
    A wedding photographer in San Francisco was brutally beaten for his photography equipment at gun point during a wedding by two armed thugs.
    The guy held onto his equipment, but things are getting bad and threatening our art. Two RUclips channels, Vahagraphy and 247 Media group have taken up the cause of alerting the community.
    If you find time in your schedule to bring this up about safety it would be appreciated. You can refer to their channels for details.
