@@Rodoadrenalina Except demonstrably very few people stick around and play a single game for months or years (let alone mobile games like this, CoC is an anomaly). Casuals by definition rarely stick to a game for long, and if they do it's in short blasts that are never enough to get them to "endgame"...so if this is "for casuals", then it's pretty contradictory. Or, you know, the more obvious answer that anyone with a brain could figure out: it encourages you to spend cash. Almost as if that were the entire goal.

The real problem with Now is the material drops. In normal Monster Hunter we've all spent hours and days grinding for that one gem with a 2% drop rate, and that can be as fun as it frustrating. But in Now, you can't even fight monsters as freely and repeatedly as you want. If there's no needed monster within my area, or the mat doesn't drop off the one I find, then that's all I can do that entire day.

For anyone curious, this video's a bit outdated with it's information now.
Yes, Zenny is still buyable with money, but being able to sell materials in your item box for Zenny, combined with the Zenny Reward Boost at HR100 for Daily Quests, combined with the Constant Events that give you free shit for doing the most basic of tasks !
The Zenny Economy has since Sky Rocketed and it's ridiculously easy to earn Free Zenny even if you're not even trying to.
Material Drops are still a bit of a struggle, but with Hunt-A-Thons now havin a Worldwide Group Hunt Feature, combined with Group Hunts granting Bonus Rewards simply for hunting with another Player, it's not quite as painful as it used to be.

Im rc84 with 2358 monsters killed..
You are telling me that i have to kill 3000 monsters 8+ to upgrade just ONE WEAPON....
    Jaja funny
In my experience drop ratios are okey because the items you need to upgrade weapons are balanced in rarity with drops.
The problem is when you need an specific material like rarity 4, 5 or 6 and you dont get, when that happen blocks you to upgrade a weapon... but when you get that material you have the mats to upgrade the weapon a lot of levels, so i think monster hunter now must have:
    ⚠ 🔽 🔽 ⚠
    - 2/3 more material slot per hunt. 🐘
    - 2 more daily quests and improve: 📑
    · Q1 1000 zenis - 3 slots for rarity 2 resources - 2 per slot 🍀🐞🏔
    · Q2 1000 zenis - 2 refined armor + 4 rarity 3 resource (1 slot) 🍀🐞🏔
    · Q3 1000 zenis - 2 refined weapon + 2 rarity 3 monster material (MM) - 1 rarity 4 MM 🐘🦏🦒
    · Q4 500 zenis - 2 slots for rarity 3 resource - 2/3 per slot 🍀🐞🏔
    · Q5 500 zenis - 1 monster and 1/2 MM of that monster to choose from (rarity to choose from too) - (This unlock the block i mentioned before) 🐘🦏🦒
    - Ability to choose the minimum number of stars at which monsters appear, at least the ability to reduce them. ⭐⭐⭐
    · Example: You cannot hunt an 8-star legiana, in this case you will be able reduce the stars of that legiana to 7.
    - From the 6th star onwards, the number of zenis per monster is greater (Like he talks in video) 💰
I think this changes makes the game not frustrating and solve the problems this game have.
I hope TD read this and give their opinion about.
Big hug to community, im sure this game will change too great game ♥💙💚💜

when you start building actual elemental sets, like have your fire weapon with some armor that gives fire boost, save that as your set, do the same with other sets/elements, and you should start dishing out more dmg. elements are rly strong in this game, even on slow weapons like great swords, which isnt the case in the main series game.
but i am at a point where i was able to upgrade my great jagras greatsword so much higher than everything else , i think almost rarity 8, while everything else still sits at rarity 5, that im better off always just using that.

Also the damage and the attack opportunity difference between range and melee are also crazy. I could kill 7 stars Legiana with 5.4 Rathalo bow, even I got hit twice and died once, but I still have about 50% of chance couldn't kill a 6 stars Legiana with 6.5 Anjanath SnS due to run out of time. THIS ASSHOLE COULD STARTS FLYING WHEN ABOUT 60S LEFT BUT NEVER LAND, only about half of the SnS attack are on its head, the rest are either miss or on its foot. That's a fair point about monsters found in only one terrain. It reduces its spawn rate at best to ⅓ compared to the earlier monsters found in all terrains. I found myself going through the same experience with the flying monsters too. It's the bane of SNS that has been in most MH games. The wirebug system in Rise really helped out for that but alas, MHN is carted from MHW engine. I've been tempted to build a fire, ice and dragon bow set (the later requiring pink rath mats) to hunt the flying types specifically. At which point I may as well main in Bow! 🙄 Not sure how players use it so we'll when walking around in the rain.

They probably can say “you can’t use the brand do to that,” but if they could say “no this is not fun, you need to change this” then nintendo would’ve done so a *long* time ago

Thats ridiculous, those numbers are insane. Thanks a lot for showing us, really appreciate it.
Also the Hunter Ranks are not needed at all. Or there is no benefit to level up. Until lvl 30 (I think, not sure anymore) you get some potions/paintballs but after that not anymore.
And if you are not living in a big populated city (like Tokyo or similar) you won't find any other hunters nerby to hunt with. So the friendlist is also almost not needed.
The hunts are fun but aside from that it seems exhausting to try and hunt a lot.
In some cases I start the game. find a big Monster (7-8*) and after one or some missed dodges i got like one shotted and close the game immediately to not waste a potion there because I am not going to hunt a lot and recharge my health for later or so. (2-3 min playtime)
unfortunately I kind of simp hard for this game and want it to be a lot of fun. But in this hate-love relationship the hate part is really big.
I almost reached HR 100 after that I will pause and see if Niantic will make some updates to the droprates / Zenny or just tune in when the Zinogre update arrives in December.

Also, they really need to up their game if they want to make it fresh and keep the players in. RN it has potential, but shitty events with monster subspecies won't be enough to keep the players, and the monetization system sucks. They're not fixing any problems of the game, and new ones keep appearing somehow.

I think that's not the correct approach, in that stage of the game the developers don't want you to get max weapons and armour. I think 10* will be the maximum for the years to come and marketing wise they couldn't promote a new and faster feature in the future if everyone allready has everything maxed out. They need to have these high limits, if they not wanna rebalance the game all the time with higher weapon grades. It's been the same with pokemon go and level 50, everyone complained at the beginning but at least you'll still have a goal to work towards, even after playing for several months. Without these goals everyone would just stop playing, after they got their weapons and armour maxed out.

If the three of you are hunting together, you're apparently in the sweet spot for monster HP. I've found G8 (4th play through of the story) a good spot to take your time and get the zenny you need from casually hunting 6 and 7 star monsters. Then keeping an eye out for the easier 8 star monsters (Jagras, Kulu, Puki, Barroth, Girros and to some extent Tobi) with the appropriate elemental weapons. IF you are thinking of buying gems: use them to double the wyvern shards. Additionally, if you can push through G8 story to G9 (not there yet myself), the lowest level monsters you'll likely find are 6 star which is the sweet spot for efficient zenny farming. The other thought I had is that only one of the three of you needs to grind up to G9 as you would act as the host for the other two. Anyways, glad to hear you all have something to play along together

Just to save everyone a google, converting Euros to USD would mean that in Europe you'd be paying about $880.00.
Of course daily quests vomit mountains of zenny anyways though.
Personally have yet to spend a dime on Zenny and find those calculations to be...no offense, but a little useless. The biggest issue I've had, having made it to 7 star thus far, is the item box expansion and monster rewards. I've all but ignored the zenny cost completely thus far and only spent money on paintballs other than that. Quests, especially events, give plenty of money.
The exponential curve for the numbers to upgrade gear definitely needs to be lessened noticeably. Though honestly, forgetting EVERYTHING, I want one change. Higher drop rates.
I'm not going to hunt down a 7 star after hours of only finding 6 and below star monsters only to get all rare 1 hide. Drop rates need improving. The screen for drop rates can extend a lot, just make it like actual hunts where you get proper lines of materials, and just make the percentage for each drop rarity chance go by star level.
Zenny is irrelevant otherwise and drops are definitely the biggest problem, especially for solo play. The monsters drop absolute gutter trash and I haven't even seen more than 4 plates getting all the way to 7 star. I have never seen a single gem as well (Fanged Wyvern Gems and plates for a lot of monsters.)

Yep. I hope Niantic pays attention to feedback this time. I honestly don’t even mind the rng drops from breaking parts but something needs to happen to drop rates for the game to succeed.

Don't forget that future weapons and armours will powercreep the old ones. Even if you got to Grade 10 in two months, it'd be no problem because that gear will be outclassed anyways. And if they weren't outclassed, then you'd have a problem of having no new content and the grind would feel meaningless.

Y’all niantic defenders are so weird. Do you play regular monster hunter games and say “man if only it took me longer to upgrade this weapon I’d keep playing this game,” or do you say “wow I’m having so much fun with this game I’m thinking of maxing out an entire separate build for a different weapon set?”
Seriously, if the game was as fun as mainline monster hunters nobody would complain about the grind. The grind is built in. The problem is niantic is not a company of game devs, they’re a company of predators with geolocation tech that won the lottery with Pokémon go.

@@maninblack3410exactly. If it took so long to make a set in the main games as it did like in mhnow then I probably would've stopped playing the series because I love making a bunch of weapons for all the weapon types.
Heck I even spent 600 hours in mh4u judt staying in high rank and making a page and a half full of weapons.
In G rank imma be doubling or tripling some of my weapons to hone them for life. Attack and defence.
I can't even get anywhere close to doing that in mhnow. The grind in mhnow is just not fun.

    This!
Everyone who's working on a G6 weapon has been able to easily spot the fact that the item drops and Zenny feels insufficient. (Putting it lightly.)
But this! Way to spell it out for us and assign monetary and time sink values to the actual grind.
We can grind this game every day for over a year and still not complete 1 build?
And here I am planning a variety of builds for shits and giggles.😅

I only hunt the monsters for fun. Already gave up on the grind. The item is full of the mats and no bones insects and stuff. Since I don't go out of my way to get to certain biom, doing the quest entirely depends on luck. It took about 2 weeks to meet 2 Diablos

Man the game is only been out for a year and people are so focused on maxing already, you don’t need to spend money to get to G10 why is everyone in a race to beat the game it’s all the events, dailies and other quests you can esilly make the 451k Zenny all I’m seeing is impatience. Now that games have options to boost with real money people forget that games require grinding and now a week grind or month grinds feel impossible to you like man just stop gaming then

Materials are definitely an issue, i play the game daily and im struggling to even get some weapons up to grade 5 due to the sheer lack of material drops. I saw another comment which highlights the point of hunting higher rank monsters just to get rarity 1 drops. I've actually just finished my second run of the story and can now find 7* monsters but it actually isnt really worth it when i get better materials from a 4* monster.
At the time of writing this ive been trying to get a single Pukei Primescale for approx a month just to level up my hammer.

    Pokemon Go Players: First time?
But yeah, this was to be expected and it is disappointing that capcom gave their approval in the first place.
Its a mobile game like any other out there, filled with dark patterns and rife with monetization.
I know it sounds a bit melodramatic, but it really is a stain on an otherwise flawless IP. Gladly enough, it looks like it is not popular at all among the MH-Fanbase.

  • @KUNANUK
    @KUNANUK 8 месяцев назад +1

Come on TDS, I absolutely love your videos, but this one is a little too misleading imo, especially for new players / players that haven’t even tried the game.
    1) No one needs to pay cash for zennies, as the need for zennies balance out with need for monster materials.
    2) Weapon refining parts (WRP) from the daily quests mean that all gear upgrades are meant to be time gated.
    3) On top of the time gate with WRP, Wyvern gem shard (WGS) is a legit gate for even the most hardcore players.
    4) Apart from the weapon upgrades, no one really upgrades armor past 6*, cause we’re all just aiming for the armor skills, not the DEF stats.
Combining the points from above, I think we can all come to the conclusion that no average player is supposed to even aim for 10* weapons at this stage of the game, but this video made it sound like it’s a p2w game for whales, when in reality its not, as everything is very much time gated.
Now you guys are absolutey right with the need for change with different aspects of the game:
    1) We should be able to craft potions with different materials, cause we all know that this is the main source of the their income (Not from the zennies)
    2) Drop rates should be increased, or a change to the drop system should be made (And with this along with increased zennies per monster, as the balance between zennies / mats should stay in place)
    3) Lures or a feature with similar effect would be nice
    4) We should DEFINITELY be able to sell the mats we don’t need for zennies (LIKE EVERY MH GAME, THIS IS MH TRADITION)
    5) I personally feel like they could add monsters at a faster rate, since there’s no reason for them to stick with just MHW monsters, unless that was the deal signed between Capcom & Niantic (I don’t know much about this)
    6) I personally do not suffer from this, as I live in the city, but I know many players living in more rural or suburban areas have less access to material nodes, which I think should definitely be adjusted / fixed.
    7) Friend / Team / Co-op system overhaul.
    Conclusion:
I can’t say that I love or hate the game, but imo it actually came out better than I previously expected, even with all the issues that shoud be fixed / adjusted. I’ve played almost all MH games (including the ones on mobile, which were all jokes and very very much p2w from release to end), and tbh MHN has been the best adaptation of MH on mobile so far. I would honestly recommend fellow MH fans to just play casually and see how the game progresses with every update, but of course only if you mentally strong enough to tap nonstop on your phone in public 😅
