They should add a training room option in MHN so that we can actually practice
It would've been way easier to make a guide if they did it. I hope they would really consider it
You can go fight a small monster and evade backward until you’re really far away, the ground small monsters will eventually get to you from its attacking moving it forward, but the flying ones will never move, you can do this to practice your weapons
@thereeman2293 if you're too far away and you tap, you'll slide forward tho..
@@shawnzyplays Then just keep going backward if you accidentally slide forward, it’s essentially a training area since you have infinite time as well

I miss charge blade on the 3ds most cos we can add touch screen shortcut for one key swap weapon mode, easier to perform guard point.
I once guard point teostra super nova and counter him with my own boom!

Great video man! So happy that they've added this weapon so early on. This weapon's damage output is insane. Really hoping that the complexity of its use makes it so we don't ever see a nerf, but I won't hold my breath lol
The dmg output is really crazy. Even if you don't set up for SAED, AED itself is already very strong.
After having a pause basically since 2 months after release due to me not liking playing with sword and shield, just randomly saw that they released the charge blade for the game changed the pause to a full grind. Thanks for your guide, definetely helped me

Finally! The weapon of the gods! Charge blade is by FAR my absolute favorite weapon, love to see the guide on using mechanics in MH Now! Its complicated to learn, but so rewarding when you can just swap around, and I love Guard Point! I main CB in MH World, Rise and will be doing so in MHN! Thanks for the great guide and analogies, Shawnzy!
Pro tip on Raw CBs : If the weapon has no elemental damage, like the Diablos blade, not only do the phials not have a negative modifier from the affinity, but they also do massive impact / stun damage if you smack the monster in the face with it. Especially with a charged up shield! Lock on in MHN and impact damage to the face = big win!
Great tip! I've heard about impact phials doing stun dmg but even tho I've tried it a few times, I just can't KO the monster.
Not too sure if they brought in this mechanic so I left that out. AED on the monster's head doesn't seem to have that KO starry effect so I'm not sure dude.
Supposedly according to a couple of guide sites I've read it does, I haven't mashed enough monster faces. I did knock a Deviljho down with a Diablos blade with an SAED to the face, but that could be anecdotal! Will play more and report back.@@shawnzyplays
@invaderxion8469 I'll try to do it too! It's either they didn't bring it in.. or the monsters die too quickly. cb is just too damn strong lol

When I just started MHN 3 days ago, I was suggested this weapon 🙄 and boy this tutorial video was sooo helpful in learning the combos. Right now, I am struggling to learn the Red Shield + quick SH-SAED combo (at the last part of this vid). Thanks!
Hello! I'm glad this helped!
For now, make sure you're really good with getting red shield. Once you've got that down, you can just charge up your phials, tap sp button to get to axe mode and have fun.
Then get used to advance technics after that

4:20 Oh I didn't know when you guard point that you can hurt the monster too. DO you know if that works by regular guard? and not necessarily a guard point? That paralysis weapon looks useful to switch to axe and stuff
Yo u know what. I think normal guard works too as long as you have red shield.

I wish they could add the ability to charge your blade after your shield is charged. I understand the mhn give you a small window to complete your hunt but why allow the shield charge if you can't charge your sword from it.

Note: if you swipe down when you have Red Shield before the SAED you can do an AED with red shield

Tip: both sword and axe is useful, sword is for mobility against aggressive monsters to chip away their health while axe is for hard to reach and when you got them right where you want them
wondering if red shield provide addtional 2 guard like in other MH games

I just realized this, when your phials are red(charged), tapping sp to switch to axe mode instantly convert them into the vials. I'm more interested at how Quick Work affected the cb animations.

after u charge your shield(Red), your axe attacks become stronger than before u charge shield. as of the main game. i dunno bout mhn. didn’t notice.

Whats the optimal flow u guys ended up with? Heres mine
1. Charge phial
2. Use AED without the 1st 2 normal swings
Somehow charging the shield feels like it takes too long ahha
Currently I think I'm doing okay with charging red shield. Still working on the next part.
Sometimes even with red shield and full phials, my stupid finger charge the red shield again
@@shawnzyplays can totally relate haha i think im not cut out to do shield thrust to AED/SAED.. the timing often clash with the mobs attack pattern so I often just change to axe mode and perform AED/SAED
now we just need the charged up blade so we can feel the full potential of CHARGE BLADE

I believe Odo helm and vambraces are two of the required armor pieces because of quick work skill

Trying to the gaurd isn’t easy it keeps making me do the one tap attack then the hold attack when I try
You can just tap and hold in sword mode. If you're aiming for guard point, a simpler way is to tap the sp button in sword mode and there's a guard point during the morphing animation

I guest AED might be better than SAED for dps since it consumes less phials and cost less time. (Big hate on 75 second limit)
At my current stage of playing, I'll accept whatever happen(aed/saed) because im still not very fluid in my gameplay hahahahh
I'm kinda unga bunga myself... and TBH MHN's early life was kinda Black Diablos bow or Elemental Builds.
This weapon looks like it's worth it to play. The fact that this game has detailed mechanics deserves recognition.
I've made a seperate account that will be Charge Blade only. Learning on 6-8 star monsters was too painful. I tried.
That said. The game is severely lacking a "learn" option.
But yes I feel the need to learn this.
Here is what all guides are lacking. Every guide goes phials/store/AED or SAED.
Dude I get stuck in Axe or SnS and fumble around switching. I wish more basic guides focused on how to transform clear and consise.

At the moment just stick with elemental attack lv 5. Or the usual crit build. It should tide you over until we understand the weapon a little more

Yeah some players don't even bother with the red shield. They just store phials, get into axe mode and go ham with it
This weapon does SO much damage, but the damage is locked behind the biggest execution hurdle in the game. I'm hoping that's enough to not get it nerfed into the ground now that I'm investing time into it
The pros charge up the shield in one sequence. It really requires great muscle memory. I'm still far from it because I had to think of what I should do next and sometimes I'll get mindblocked for abit lol

When u have red shield and just wan to do jipaboom(aed) not bijipaboom(saed) instead of hold and release do a hold and swipe back
so with red shield + phials, in axe mode, tap and hold. Once im in the charging stance, i swipe down = AED, if i release instead, it is SAED?

It has an awesome transformation and I've been watching a lot of videos, I still don't understand it.
I guess I need first person view like counterstrike how one swiping and tapping this charge blade, while half screen showing what happened to mhnow...
Just gotta break up everything into bite sized bits. I.e instead of looking at the whole sequence to get to red shield, how about you look at...
1. Charging your phials to red
2. Storing your phials
3. Getting used to shield thrust after storing phials
Etc

@@m2mdohkun don't give yourself too much pressure. It's not a weapon for everyone. If you like complex weapons and challenges, go for it. But if you find yourself hating how complex it is, drop it okay.

should be less complicated i guess. It's the kinsect part that worries me though. In main game we can move around and shoot out our kinsect to get the different buffs from different monster parts but idk how they will do it here. Do we realllllllly need to roll around here and there just to get the buff :/ i hope theyll simplify it for IG
