Quick tip, if you wanna charge your phials and switch to axe mode without using a phial (swipe down, tap) combo Simply press the SP button, if you have yellow or red bar you will charge and transition with a normal axe attack instead of using a phial after charging, so also keep this in mind, if you like to guard point by pressing the SP button before the attack, if you have yellow/red bar, the animation will NOT have the guard point as your char will charge then change to axe
One cool thing I learned If u guard counter into aed there’s a brief window after where u can do the ultimate, as ur technically in axe mode for a little bit. It really saved me a couple times when I miscalculated the window of attack a bit. cool vid!
I’m finding that elemental CB is just ridiculously strong. I’m able to take down 7* monsters with a rank 5 weapon. I could never do that with my lances. Hope it doesn’t get nerfed
Charge Blade is by far the strongest weapon i have tried in this game, the damage is so high, you can block, have guard points and good reach. and its not actually that complex, because you can ignore half of the mechanics to deal good damage. just like in the clips: dont charge shield, just get phials, switch to axe mode and either hit 2x->roll and repeat, or hit the full combo into AED. going for SAED is almost always too risky and charging the shield takes too much time. since this game has such short hunts its just not worth it. ofc if you fully script a fight, there might be better dps with more advanced gameplay, but on average sticking to the simple method seems better.

@GurenKitsune I thought so myself but I did a saed while odogan was down and immediately when the phails exploded was when he became paralyzed. I'll keep checking to make sure I'm not tripping because the game does do things like double attacks with longsword with one hit which I'm not complaining
With how the game is, it may sound heretical but red shield just ain’t worth it lol. Not as beneficial as it is in other games at a baseline as well as the time limit, plus it locks you into SAED punishes only which WILL get you killed. AEDs are just better all around

I just hate feeling like I'm locked into/invested in other weapons and don't want to waste zeeeennnnniiiii and other resources in a new weapon till I'm finished upgrading what I've got. Really would be nice to be able to dismantle weapons and get mats back to try out stuff without feeling like I'm taking steps back. 😂
SAED is that one big signature move where you expend all phials in a huge explosion. AED is that overhead smash attack that uses 1 phial and it has 3 follow up burst. Personally using elemental discharge 1 and 2 then roll n again deals a faster dps imo
You Forgot to Add..( Guard Point )...😅😅 it Takes Zero Damage... When Perfect Blocks...😅😅 it Glows Blue Sparks...

Did anyone know and I just found out that status weapons phials do apply status effects as well
No status phials only elemental and impact (impact phials don't help apply status either its just bonus dmg)

I don't think the 20% bonus from the red shield is worth it. It's better to just spam AED. Remember, you can't deal damage if you can't survive!
