After the price hike I was going to wait until the day and see how the weather is. Today I heard that the wilds beta test is happening that same weekend.... So, yeah, I think I know what I'll be doing that weekend and I'll be saving £15
It needs to be at least half price. This game's monetization isn't getting any better. I don't think they have released anything compelling at all so far.

I am watching this video about the game within minutes of it being uploaded, and I am logging in daily for almost a year now. I have only ever purchased the first season pass with money on my google account from surveys. I skipped PoGo but I did play Ingress for a long time. Pax Australia was just on and there were only 11 people at the most playing and that was while waiting in line to get in. This is what is wrong with focusing on just the whales. I am actively turned off by the monetization to the point I feel encouraged to disengage with it and almost with the game entirely.

Since I’m at the point of getting close to maxing my Teo CB where needing 20 more tails, I can’t really see myself justifying purchasing the ticket for the event even when EDI’s are unlimited. Sure, there’s the crit element and poison exploit builds to jump on. But Nerg doesn’t seem great right off the bat to get for what he gives in skills, and if you already have all your elemental builds set, then there’s not much incentive to do this event. For over double the price of the last event the least they could’ve thrown in were special driftsmelts for all the hunting they’d want players to do. I can honestly wait just fine for silver/gold raths. I don’t think two days feels good enough to get in decent mats either, even with the faster 30minute field cycle.
I haven't made up my mind about it either. The main thing for me is the exclusive chest but I'm sure it'll be power crept by something else eventually and If you can't farm enough parts to make the new Slos, Gian, Nergi weapons and armors then you're stuck with all those mats eating up inventory space until they release them in season 4. Meh.

Going to work towards the carnival chest and LBG (super easy to upgrade the armor to grade 8, and then stockpile enough tickets to max out LBG eventually), Grade 8 the silver helm and boots for crit element sets…then probably start the silver LBG. Also, FYI, the Monster Hunter Wilds beta is four days and starts two days before this event…it *is* possible to do both with good time management?😉
I was fine with $5 USD for the sleepy squirrel event but $15 for this event seems a bit too much. It'd be worth only if I didn't have any responsibilities and could play all weekend. I'll just wait until Nergi and the metal Raths come out in a few months.
Hard pass on this one. During the Japanese event you can create the blast weapons set exclusives with weaker blast element with stronger raw attack.. but not sure if this isna thing for global.
