yea I love that the people asking for money on the streets at least put on a show for you before asking for money. here in Florida they are all pissed off just standing there at the lights asking for money and kicking glass bottles in the streets.

I was born in San Isidro I used to go to that market with my Grandparents. We would wake up at 3am to get ready for market day every Thursday. My grandmother used to believe that she had to be there at 5am because she will get the fruits even fresher. She was very particular about her fruits. One of my favorite things to do when I lived there. The Farmers will travel from everywhere to deliver their products. It's very competitive for them so they try to deliver just the best.

If the guy at minute 5+ keeps mixing fruit he'll get a loose stomach...
That happened to me at the market of Tingo María, selva alta region, when I got a little too enthusiastic with the fruit variety of the tropics...

Hi, a Tica from San Isidro Pérez Zeledón here.
Randomly I found this video and I think to myself mmmm I think I recognize that place... And the truth is that I was delighted with the animosity that the long-haired guy talks about the fruits and the people who sell them.
I highly recommend visit our little community (Pérez Zeledón) in your next trip to Costa Rica, we are about 1 hour from Cerro Chirripó the highest mountain in Costa Rica were if you are a little lucky you can see both oceans, and also we are just 35 min away from the nearest beach Playa Dominical in the pacific side of C.R.
But above all of that we are simple, friendly and Pura Vida people.

And for the moment I am just a normal guy with few thousands in my bank account... a working class hero....

oranges, apples, and grapes are all imported in PH.
The only relatively cheap fruit you can get are papayas, bananas and watermelons, and they are not nice looking. Mangoes are expensive, so are pomelo, avocado and others.
Been in Thailand this January, and the difference in abundance, quality and price is huge (in favor of Thailand). Very strange as both countries have similar climate and cheap labor.
Something is broken in the food chain in PH, not sure what, but it's clearly not working properly.
