- Grecia, Costa Rica - Even though we are retired, we still live a life where we pay attention to how much we spend and how we can save. Living in Costa Rica we have access to so much fresh fruits and vegetables, that we visit the farmer’s market every week. We support the local farmers and community, get the fresh produce and save money all at the same time.
So I wanted to take you along on one of our trips to a farmers market here in Grecia. Be sure to watch till then end to see how much we spent on our shopping trip. Also there is a surprise purchase we made and will show you that too.
The exchange rate for colones to dollar is calculated by the daily google exchange rate. So by the time you view this video, the rates may change.

Awesome video. I keep hearing Grecia has the biggest farmers market in the region. Another nod for moving to the area.
We love farmers markets! So Grecia would definitely be on our top 5 places to live in Costa Rica.

I've never been to Naranjo, so can't give you much feedback on that area. But Atenas is a nice small town, with a small town vibe. Has a good grocery store for expats to get US products and Maxi Pali for Walmart type of stuff. They do have a farmers market, but not as big as Grecia.

just checked the exchange rate for today $1 = 672.51 , it used to be $1 = 500 Colones in 2015 , when i was there .

I typically google the exchange rate, as it changes daily. I see it is now 669.18 colones to dollar today. The produce is the best and getting fresh eggs is amazing.

This farmers market was huge. Most veggies and fruit I've seen at a farmers market in Costa Rica.
That's a really nice market. It's much bigger than our local market in Escazu.
There is a large farmers market in Escazu, but this one is definitely bigger.

コルバーグズ家のモジョ君を初めて見た時から一目惚れしてとても大好きになり、名前もとても気に入り、いつか犬が飼える時が来たら、名前をもらおうと勝手に決めてました😅
そしてついに飼える時がきて、2020年4月にイタリアングレーハウンドのオス犬を家族に迎えました！
もちろん名前は『モジョ』です！
お伝えしたかったのですが、その時はすでにRUclipsを休まれてしまっていて伝える事ができませんでした。

Nice video, If you haven't tried fried yucca you should do it, also pejibayes, I don't know if they are in season.Yuca frita the best of the best much better than french fries😊

Is there a reason so many people are wearing shoes instead of sandals or flip flops? Is it dangerous to wear open sandals there? Just curious
Some areas are not good for flip flops, as you don't have a lot of paved roads and level side walks. I guess it depends on where you visit in Costa Rica. But for the most part, I think you can wear flip flops.
