Marie Bejarano the bugs and mosquitoes were nothing like Florida, especially homestead! I believe because most of the country is an intact natural ecosystem everything is in balance.
@@PeteKanarisGreenDreamsFL -That's been a concern for me too, Pete. The mosquitoes, sand midges, etc beat me up bad. I seem to be almost allergic to them and get painful huge welts. They are nothing like northern mosquitoes. I'm researching as fast as I can and am excited about the prospect of moving there. Amazing to see all the ex-pats who have done it.

Thank you for taking the time to document and share. Me and my wife are always excited when we see that you have a new video. We make a movie night together and enjoy. If you are ever in California. We would love to have you come visit and give us some pointers. I’m working on making our 3 acres a full food forest. I have wood chips and all organic material delivered daily. To build the Forest floor.
"Reasonable" priced land for foreigners that come from a much wealthier country.. I stopped watching the video halfway through when "real estate" popped on. Coming from an island in south america that has become almost unpayable to live on for locals/natives thanks to so many Americans and Europeans (who have a way higher income than us) buying "cheap land" as a second vacation home my heart truly aches for the native/local Costa Rican population as this foreign permaculture/yoga/reteat land selling trend continues to grow.. hope they can get the strength to stop it on time because we sure couldn't.. 😔 I am a huge fan of the content of this channel and of you, Pete but I'm not sure I can continue to support the channel when it puts local/native populations in disadvantage for foreign investment. Hope you really manage to meet Ernst Gotsch in Brazil he has a wealth of knowledge on this subject as well. Wonderful man who used his knowdledge and privileges to uplift and enrich the local/native communities where he decided to settle. Truly working WITH them and not just hiring them. Peace 🙏🏾🌺🌻
SO JELLY...those kids...how lucky to live in this environment, what a beautiful, lush, landscape and family...just AWESOME, didn't you just hate leaving...!!!

This is healthy, natural lifestyle : crime free, stress free, pollution free, etc. Is this planet earth.? You and your family are very blessed to live in this environment. I must admit it is hard work though.
Wow! If I could have described the perfect setting for where I'd like to live and produce food, this place you've created would be the ideal! I think you should adopt me and I could be help on the farm :-) I'm 55 but I'm adoptable :-) LOL I lived in florida for 3 years and grew bananas, papaya, citrus etc but it wasn't anything like you're showing here. I hope you have an amazing life where you live! I'm so happy for your family... Living the great dream!

Nice work ! Love my career and interior metro Phx Arizona plot but I can definitely live more vicariously thru folks like this...look forward to further updates :)
not sure if you will see this post, but how remote is a plot like this ? (ie, is it easy to source construction materials ? Closest town nearby ? Easy to find like minded peeps & make friends nearby ? Each time I see a post like this, I wonder about those ancillary items...obviously, being somewhat remote in a food & tropical paradise like that with family is one of the allures...
Jeff compared to some places we visited in CR this isn’t remote at all. It’s 30 minutes from the second biggest city in CR, San Isidro. No 4x4 required either, the roads are good in this area. My favorite part about this area is the climate, not much humidity and very cool because of the higher elevation and being further from the beach. To make things even better you can take a flight from San Jose to a small airport right outside San Isidro just 20 minutes from the site.
Not necessarily.. It doesn't take a fortune to build a house and plant a garden in Costa Rica. Once you've got that set up, you can earn a nice income from that garden. If you actually manage to sell it all..
Great stuff guys, You are great parents. We buy PlayStation for our kids. By the way, yesterday 1 lettuce, only one head, cost 4$ at Superstore in Kelowna BC. It wasn't organic. Just the regular shit has grown with chemicals. 4 dollars!!!!!! for crap food
Thank you, Romeo! We believe children should be outside connecting to and learning from nature. It is time we all grow our own food so that we are eating nutrient dense food without the chemicals :)

This is motivational. I couldn't be able to contain myself if this was my garden. I have 5 raised beds and I think I'm doing something major.
Thank you! Always good to start somewhere - even at a small level of sprouting and micro greens! Great work. I bet your garden is incredible :)
Katrina Harvey thanks! Keep up the good work! Most people have no garden.

I love how involved and knowledgeable the kids are. That is so nice to see

I going to ask a question that I have not seen asked here as of yet. How did they finance/afford all of this? They look very young.
Costa Rica is cheap. Maybe they sold their house in America at the top of the market.
