One time we had a bomb scare, and literally, everyone had to stand outside, IN THE COLDEST DAY OF THE YEAR, IN MAINE, NEGATIVE TEMPERATURES WITH A HORRENDOUS WINDCHILL!!!
For 45 minutes.
It was a miracle none of us got frostbite, and they GUARDED YOU so you couldn't leave the grounds. I was considered "special" *disability* and was unfortunate enough to have a study hall in that period with special education. They literally kept us away from the rest of the children, in a separate area, with no interaction with no one else in the school. Whether they thought we were delinquents or didn't want mass panic, god only knows. But I developed more of a severe hatred to those teachers for not letting me bail for the seven (out of eight) hours that school ran that day because of that bomb scare. Because they locked us in the gym, they refused to let me call my parents, not even a five-minute call because I knew if my mom knew what was going on, she would've raised hell to pick me up. This was before cell phones, and not even the disability teachers would let me call, even pulled me aside for a "comfort lecture" on how scary this was and I needed to be strong. I just wanted to get out of there, I didn't care what they thought. Also, since they didn't let us carry our stuff outside, a lot of kids had money and expensive things taken out of their backpacks. I didn't even have time to grab my jacket, as did a lot of the other kids.
I also had a test on the final period of class, and yes, that was the only class that ran the whole time that day. And yes, I didn't study for it and failed. I was going to study during the study hall, that the bomb scare started in. Oh yeah, the kids not in that study hall, the teachers didn't watch as well, at least five kids I knew told me later they walked off campus and walked home.

@@johnmcauliffe8824 There were five kids with me in the study hall, and three teachers watching us like hawks during the 45 minutes. I would've been instantly nailed as the culprit, even if I was that type of kid. (Yes, I was a sweet kid, though that day tested me.)
There were also ten teachers lining the hallway, about 15 feet, from the restroom to the gym. They literally treated the day like a prison sentence. The payphones were less than five feet after the bathrooms, and they watched it like hawks and escorted you to the bathroom.
And some kids did actually incite a riot. We were so tightly packed in the gym kids were freaking out trying to get out because they were claustrophobic. A friend of mine was screaming at the teachers to let him leave because he was scared to death of how tightly packed we were and said he had a condition. They sent him back to sit with us with suspension. They also let a bomb-sniffing dog in at one point.
I'm sure my mom wasn't the only one to call and raise hell about how that day was treated and what conditions the kids were in. She slapped down every argument that the school had on an explanation of the conditions and threatened to sue. As did a lot of other parents, I'm sure. They never did it again, they cancelled school after the first bomb scare when more came.

In the UK skipping classes is generally taken pretty seriously but i went to a "not so great" school. You could skip classes easily and a lot of people did. The reason we actually still went was the fact that truancy is taken pretty seriously. We sometimes got in trouble for skipping class, but not going to school entirely meant your parents would be in trouble with the police. So, it boils down to either a good-hiding or detention/isolation which we skipped too. At that point you get labelled as trouble so the teachers would take it easy on you to avoid a headache.

skipping is difficult because you have to do it mid class and make sure the teacher doesn't notice you left

I remember so many times I would be sneaking through the halls when an administrator would "get suspicious" (read: see the back of my leg as I turn a corner) and immediately I would have to find the nearest place to lay low until they stopped looking for me. There were so many days I skipped and had to hide in the drama department. I would act like I was part of that class learning about some play.
After having the most out off body experience on psilocybin, I feel my outlook and plan for my life has changed. I got so much work done in my head in those 6 hours, I really wish it’s that easy to get them here in Texas, I'll be very glad

I remember once I was sitting in media studies and it was coming near the end of the lesson. I got to a catholic school (wasn’t my choice) and we have this thing called “stop and prey” which is a 5 minute prayer starting from 12pm every 3rd period. I hated doing it so they stupid way I think of getting out of lesson is by giving myself a nosebleed. I sit at the back and when no one was looking I dug a nail into my nostril and scratched. (I know it’s gross). The. I put my hand up and say “sir I’ve got a nosebleed”. He tells me to go to the bathroom and no teacher questioned me because they saw my nose bleeding. So I get to the bathroom and clean myself up then get my phone out of my blazer pocket and just wait 10 minutes then go back. Where am I going with this? Giving yourself a nosebleed to get out of class may work but I won’t suggest doing it

This is so true bro. At my school, skipping became the biggest problem not only this year, but last year as well. So now, if you ever skipped a class, not only would you get detention and have BOTH of your parents called, you would have an additional punishment of the 3 choices below:
1. 1 or 2 weeks of suspension (In School Suspension or Out School Suspension).
2. Weekend lectures (Friday and Saturday) of next week's lesson.
3. Cleaning under the bleachers, lockers and bathrooms during 1st, 2nd and 3rd Period for 2 weeks.
"I was never friends with the popular kids...........butttt you get the idea.." That sentence, it spoke to me.
That describes my life perfectly. Not friends with them, but still hang out occasionally
the one that spoke to me was when he said 'My mom is gonna beat me with a fridge'. That is Caribbean parents for ya.

I'm from a really huge School (Well in terms of like university-size it's quite small, but for a High school, it's like a university basically.) and the thing is, I'm a new student, oblivious to my surroundings, lookin' super innocent, because I was relatively-short and I had good grades and I was introverted.
The principle/Grade director never even bat an eye, the only only time She ever called Me in was because of my hair being too long, which was very common for me and my classmates. And mind you, there are CCTVs all around the damn campus so nearly no one skips.
But it's hella easy to skip, why?
Here are a few ways you could skip in my school without anyone questioning you.
A: You go to the clinic and ask to go home, You can literally just say you have a headache, of course they have to prove it with temperature, but my dood, just do your best to tell them that your head's hurting in any way, and they'll be sending you home, no questions asked, and you get the excuse of having a letter in your hand saying that you were sick, and had to go home.
B: Our lunch lasts for an hour long, and We get to roam around the whole campus if We need to, We just can't get out because Guards will not let students out. So.... Around our classrooms, there are about 7 escape routes, and We have a total of 4 gates around us along with that, all of them are closely-guarded... One at a time.
So everyday during Lunch or Recess, We use that opportunity to track when the guards switch and when they are out.
We perfectly-calculated that they would switch every 4 hours from the beginning of classes, which was 7AM.
So that's 11AM, then 4PM, then 8PM.
So what could happen is, at 11AM or 8PM (If your class reached that long) I could always ask to go to the bathroom, but the thing is, if I escape school, (btw after 7PM all gates are fully open since at 5:30 grade school and 7th to 8th grade go home) I would ruin my reputation. So what I did was, and this was only an occurance every few months or so, or at least when it's a different teacher, since around the 3rd to 4th quarter it was a very very common occurance, In total of 4 times, I said either my head hurt really bad and I had to go home, or I had a nose bleed.
If I had a nose bleed (Which is easy to happen since I am for some reason sensitive to the sudden change of Hot to cold, from outside to inside the winter-like airconditioned classrooms), I would easily have an excuse to go out.
But coinciding with the times We calculated the guards would go, sometimes I completely don't have to do this,
what I would do is go to the clinic (But not directly say I had to go home, but just ask for some medicine, because they provided medicine to us.) then I, myself, would go to class, and tell my teacher that I was told to go home, this usually doesn't work on experienced teachers, since they would request a sort of slip that came from the clinic, but usually that isn't the case, especially in times like these when it's very common to see someone come home due to a fever of some sorts because We all pulled many many all-nighters every day with new projects and assignments every day even on weekends.
or lastly....
C: I'd call my mom and ask her to pick me up if She's around town (Since Her office is very far away, but sometimes She would hold meetings where my school was near so She would be able to pick me up.)
I could either say I had a headache to my mom, or.....
Which this is kinda bullshit but I mean....
I would say that I was let out early because my work for the day was finished.
Seriously! There were times (not even trying to skip) where I was just let out and did nothing just because I completely-finished everything earlier than everyone else. (Which was a common occurance seeing as I'm the type of person who wants to get the job done without thinking about it.... Yeah nah) and so...
I always asked the guards if I could go out, they said no, and also Buses couldn't pick me up because they're scheduled. But! If I called my mom and if I simply was patient-enough to wait for Her and endure a little more of the class, I could escape the class at around 3:00 when everyone else leaves at 6... Muahahaha...
That's what selling your soul for studying efficiency is kids!
the first time i skipped class during school, it was 1st period piano class, and there is this vending machine that is right next to it with these brick borders around it. i decided to sit in between the vending machine and sit on the ledge to try to just wait it out. at first i was worried i would get caught, but my plan worked.

LMAOOO in my school there used to be this tough bulk grown ass security guard watching your every move in the hallways. Like when i was going to the bathroom, he would stop me and interrogate me saying "Wheres your pass", and bro if you didnt have a pass or paper, "Office NOW!". Man i was able to skip 3 or 4 times successfully when he was still there for 3 years lol.

MyAwkwardAzn I did that too. What was different was I would never get to school. Instead of taking the school bus, I took advantage of my public bus pass (the one issued because I was a magnet student) and went to the library to study for my exams or do whatever hw. Sometimes i did this for the whole week.
MyAwkwardAzn I'd do that shit with French, art, music so I'd do them with classes that don't benefit me and me and my friends have French then math and there would be a test so I would pass since it's a 45 minute difference instead of studying at night and forgetting it by the morning lol when you sleep for like 7-10 hours

In my school we have a team called *Pastoral care* which basically deals with arguments and student problems. Basically full of learning mentors. Every math lesson I’d just say ‘Oops, sorry I was at pastoral care’ or I was in the ‘sick room’ or a ‘music lesson’ I got caught at one point when I was behind a building outside with my friends on our phones and every single one of us got 1 week suspension. I’ve skipped a couple of times since then but now I’m more sneaky instead of laughing loudly in a place next to people working

Back in highschool, I remember skipping gym swim class for a whole semester, because i didn't like swimming at school 😀 When i came back next semester, my gym teacher thought i had changed schools 😲 I told him, nope i had a doctors note to skip swimming. Which was a complete lie! 😏
Surprisingly, the teacher kinda went with it and nothing ever happened to me after that. For the missed semester, i got a n/a grade for gym class, so it didn't affect my average! 😂
