Congrats Emily! My first VR device was the Valve Index, i was in the first batch of people who got it on 6/28/2019. Careful though, if your like me or many people once you start playing beat saber you can't stop, i still play it several times a week since i got the index, does help with some exercise though, especially as you get better and playing expert+ levels :). I also recommend checking out the free experiences on steam, those are awesome for new VR users since you get to experience how amazing VR can be without too much fiddling with controls, most are sit down experiences, for example search on steam, "Google Spotlight Stories" and there a handful of very fun experiences for free. Also a very very fun first VR experience for a game i would recommend a fisherman's tale, it's an amazing experience of a game that was made possible with VR and really shows off the amazing possibility of VR gaming, and the environment and story telling in that game is just amazing.

While DCS in VR is ridiculously cool, it also requires ridiculously strong hardware to run it properly.. currently running a Ryzen 5 2600X with a 1070Ti, both cause bottlenecks in certain situations.. For example the 8v8 BVR instant mission for the F18 becomes a real slideshow for me when missiles start flying around.. Considering an RTX 2060 as mentioned in the description I doubt it'll make a big difference, and on top of that the CPU may also be inadequate to have a decent experience on DCS.. but yeah it's pretty much a must to check it out since DCS is still (and will probably stay) king of the hill when it comes to (military) flight simulators 💪👌
@@buddiechristlovesyou3667 with a 3080 you shouldn't have too many problems running DCS, given that your CPU doesn't cause a bottleneck... for a simple flight with nothing going on I can manage a steady 40 FPS, sometimes going to 80, so with a 3080 you should be at 80 FPS all the time.. it all depends on the situation, and obviously your settings... if you can manage to run the 8v8 BVR instant mission for the F18 at 40+ FPS, then you shouldn't have any trouble in MP 😉
Big learning curve...screw the GA flight sims...You are a VR fighter pilot at heart...try DCS for military jets and WWII aircraft, and IL-2 for WWII aircraft...best of the best for flying VR!
I played Aerofly FS2 in VR earlier this year and it's pretty damn good - really feels like being in the plane. Can't wait for MSFS VR! (Oh, and I drive an EV too! ;) )
@@Pilotemilie Word of warning - if you start to feel queasy while using VR, stop immediately! When I first got VR I tried playing Skyrim, started feeling a bit nauseous and tried to push through. BAAAAD mistake. I spent the next two days feeling like sh*t!
@@Pilotemilie the uneasiness goes away if you use it more. I originally used vr for sim racing and in the beginning I couldn't do more than one lap without feeling off now it doesn't affect me at all. Going up and down in a plane will definitely make you feel weird at first. I'm jealous, that's the headset I want to get.
@@bujin1977 Hmm. This might* be what I'm feeling? I'm now onto Day 2 of feeling....off a little. I thought it was a slight head cold, but maybe that's it?
Now you have VR, you should check out DCS it's free to play if you stick to the Su-25T Frogfoot. But if you want an amazing experience I'd suggest Elite Dangerous, not free and a steep learning curve, but very rewarding in the long run.
Games to try: definitely DCS, Elite Dangerous: Horizons, but no scary games! Nobody should have to go through that in VR! XD My brother loves Half Life: Alyx, though. It is a bit of a masterpiece.

What a Great review Emilie 😉👍 since u are a real pilot and a flight sim gamer- RUclipsr/flight instructor i will definitely suggest u to try DCS World in VR and a JF-17 or and F-18 Hornet or F-16 aircrafts before MFS Vr comes out. You shouldnt regret about that 😊 In the near future comes ' VR HEPTIC GLOVES' its gonna be a big thing for planes with instrument panel switches.. By the way its a good comperising Xplane 11 on Vr before MFS Vr too..
1000 thumbs up Emilie. Great video and yes the unboxing of products are awesome..would like to see more. I'm might have to look into getting one. Really interested in how well it works with FS 2020.
Wow what an interesting and unique channel. The YT algorithm got me here since I've been waiting on my G2 as well but your channel truly has lots of cool content to stay for - even as someone who wasn't interested in flights sims, there is quality content around the niche. Keep doing what you do!!
Will be amazing in flight sim, I have an oculus rift S and use it with xplane and although the graphics aren't in the same league as flight sim it really puts you in the cockpit! Can't wait for the update!!
X-Plane supports VR fully, including using the motion controllers to adjust all the dials on the instrument panels, and you can still use physical yoke and rudder pedals. My flight training sim is gonna be all about that. Half-life Alyx is the greatest VR title of all time, in terms of games. Definitely check that out!
Still waiting for my Reverb G2 since Europe didn't receive a single one so far. But I looooove to watch people using it for the first time. I'll probably act the same way when trying VR for the very first time. :D Really can't wait.
Welcome to the VR world, as others have said DCS is amazing and the feeling of flight is pretty cool. I just got my HP Reverb G2 specifically for flight sims! As for free fun stuff, try to find Nvidia's "VR Funhouse" on Steam, and if you are a Star Wars fan, check out the Trials on Tatooine. Enjoy, and be sure to make some space so you don't break stuff in your house :)
Hello Emilie, is nice to see your videos as usual , but I miss Ninja playing in the boxes! hahahahaha. Well, on a serious note , that is so cool, i like videogames and I believe that is so immersive to some titles....so for a flight sim should be even cooler , maybe you can try DCS in that, just for fun....and you can try the scary ones...but be ready to take those VR goggles quickly....I am not kidding...if in a regular screen with headphones you jump, I can't imagine with those...but have fun , ahhhhhh by the way ,I love the FX sounds you add when playing! so funny! keep the great content!
If you want to try flying in VR "War Thunder" (Free) and "IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of...(pick whatever version/battle has the planes you want to fly)" Are fantasticly immersive. I think X-Plane has VR support as well but not quite yet for Microsoft Flight Sim
This was great! A part of me wants to watch you play DCS World and blow things up on VR. Even the free planes are fun, although a bit less interactive.
Great video really loved it. You asked for suggestions don't know if it's available for computer but there a way to fight with a lightsaber in VR. It's available on smartphone not sure about computer.
Hi Emilie I have a Oculus Quest. The HP VR is very similar. Also You can Play Xplane 11 on the VR Oculus Head set. Maybe Your H P set up can use it also The HP set up is impressive. Jeff
I'm definitely repeating the lists you'd have seen already, but Beat saber, Half life alyx, and superhot vr are my all time vr favorites so far. Most of the recent driving sims support VR too, if you're into that
Pumped you got VR, wait till you try to flight sim stuff. For the castle defense game, few tips (that game is awesome). You can pull back the bow about 50% further then you were. The red balloons add health to your gate and the TNT and targets are as you kinda noticed your oh shit buttons when the gate gets crowded.
@@Pilotemilie Yeah, you want your left arm straight, and bring your right hand back to underneath your jaw on the right side of your face. By bringing your hand back to the same position each time, your shots are more consistent and the arrow trajectory is a lot easier to estimate. (It helps that when I played this game, I'd been doing archery for nearly a year... ;) )
Try out DCS World in VR. There's actually a sale on right now btw! Worth getting the F/A-18C Hornet!! =) And you need to pull back the bow a bit more lol :p And don't ever let sunlight go into the lenses... it will destroy the screen.
Wow, amazing. Should be super fun. I have the Reverb G1, and it is a great headset. The G2 is a decent improvement. I've thought about selling my G1 to get a G2. You need a pretty hefty GPU to drive it properly.
Awesome! Happy to see u doing vr. Small FYI ... Xplane 11 has vr support and it's amazing. Really worth checking out. Need steam and steam vr installed. Run xplane via steam. U won't be disappointed with the immersiveness. Xplane 11 scenery isn't like Msfs, but the vr in xplane makes it worth it. Download the icon a5 for xplane and have fun! Oh, xplane has a 'landing on an aircraft carrier' flight too 😀
Emilie you seemed to be able to use this pretty easily.Would you compare the intensity of the VR to actual flight experience? Do you think your reaction timing was pretty good? I enjoyed watching your reactions and hearing them too. Thanks for sharing your video with us. Ed
Hopefully you can try out the closed MSFS 2020 beta. Wish I could share my thoughts on it here but there's an NDA atm :( . Also, Get beat saber. It's number 1 for a reason! For an added experience get The Blu season 1 and for more flight, DCS. I love the F-18 and the A10c. but there's usually 2 free aircraft that come with it if your just looking to try it out in VR. cheers
Hi Emilie - Christmas festivities start on September 1 in the Philippines - so no, your not too early. So glad you avoided the Occulus and the Facebook account farrago.
I would go with DCS / and get the f-18 module. There is a steep learning curve for the systems, the flying you have obviously. The systems in these things are a beast to learn, yet fun!
Great to see you've got a HP Reverb G2. Highly recommend checking out the VR Flight Sim Guy YT Channel videos. Like you he was sent the Reverb G2 from HP @ beginning of November and is in the MSFS VR Beta testing program. For those who are susceptible towards having Motion Sickness. He recommends starting off with small steps, like with doing a light 5 minute flight session wearing a VR headset then having like an hours break, then come back for another try of a longer 10 minute flight session. Then take a another break away from the VR Headset and re-try longer and longer VR Flights each time to help ease you into VR Flying and getting use to the immersion of VR. DCS is terrible in VR. It is completely not optimized for VR. DCS is a mess in general now. If you want to try flight siming in VR, you want IL2 Sturmovik Great Battles.
So happy for you. Getting into VR is just a gamechanger on so many levels. ^_^ MSFS has launched its VR mode by now and I guess you've already tried it. I'm in love with it myself, though I wish they had included controller support. One recommendation: Try out "VTOL VR". You can buy it for a relatively low sum on Steam and it is such an awesome game. It may look a little cartoony, but after just a few minutes you'll love it. The sense of flying is absolutely fantastic!
Suggest an immersion into DCS. "Anyone can fly an airplane but the weapons systems are the difficult part." he said knowingly.... More unboxing opportunities with Thrustmaster F/A-18 HOTAS et al.
Awe Miss Ninja you're so gorgeous ❤️ Yes, more unboxing videos! Any video that you post is awesome, honestly~ HP reverb G2 awesomeness 👌 I could just begin to imagine flight simulation while wearing the VR . Blessings eternally 💫 Infinant love and gratitude! Namaste ✨ Tytytytytytytytyty
👋 Emilie. That looked really cool it will be interesting to see how it would be for a flight sim. BTW it would be pretty funny if someone saw you through the window with your arms flailing around like that.🤣
Small note if you aren't aware, everywhere I look people are saying to make sure if you go the rechargeable route (why these cant be usb charged I will never understand) to get either 1.5v or 1.6v AA as they for some inane reason work substantially better for longevity and tracking.
Good Video Congratulations on the new VR headset. Fun to see 1st time VR user's. Good Tips. 1.) Remove all Mascara eye makeup before putting on the VR headset. Scratches lens if it gets on them. 2.) If (not all people do) I did. You start to get any motion sickness. just stop using the VR till you feel better then go back into it But put a fan in front of you blowing into your face. It helps with letting play longer before having to stop. It worked for me then I just didn't need it after a short time. 3. GET DCS WORLD flight simulator. You will understand after seeing it in VR. Your life will never be the same. Have FUN. Good Videos.
Since this is your first VR a couple of tips if you experience VR sickness (VRS). With more use, you'll eventually get your "VR legs". Having a fan blowing towards your face can help reduce nausea as well as ginger candy or ginger ale. It's your first step into a much larger world! Have fun!😀
@@Pilotemilie You're welcome! Also, take breaks as soon as you feel uncomfortable. I know people have recommended DCS World. I do too. But if you want to try flying using the VR controllers a more simple arcadey VR flying game is Ultrawings and a bit more sim-like would be VTOL VR.
I have glasses. So, I prefer the Natural Point Tracker IR5, that has the camera on your monitor and the three points of reference clips on your headphones. Lighter, cooler and you have your peripheral vision and can see the reality around you, rather than total immersion in a game. The HP will work, but the NP Tracker IR5 works better with FS2020, with all your gear you have. It is compatible with FS2020. With the HP, if you have money and want total inversion, but you may not be able to see your flight column and controls. I like your sweater. Festive! Try X-Plane 11, and land the Space Shuttle.
He HP reverb 2 has got all to do with the Fs2020 Tho, it’s gonna be the first VR gear implemented by FS2020, at least for the demo and probably first day release.
it will first work for all WMR devices, not just Reverb G2 (as opposed to also supporting Steam or Oculus on Day 1). But it won't be a one-headset feature, that's not how Windows Mixed Reality SDK works.

Its never to early to be festive and rock a sweet sweater, love it. Spread your wings and fly!
I laughed so well and so bravely at "Collect these orbs... and don't die, basically." Totally awesome.
Cat!
+ 1 for Elite Dangerous, the best space flight simulation.
Yes, Elite Dangerous is built for VR and you can use hotas, I think.
I don't want to play scary games but Half Life Alyx is never unfair to the player and is never unfairly scary. It's very well rounded and worth a try.
@@juhakork Sure can. I use Virpil throttle and stick in my setup.
@@HD41117 to run Elite Dangerous, you'll need two Virpil Alpha Grips and two WARBRD bases (in additional to the Virpil CM2 Throttle), gets expensive but it is necessary to play ED
You shouldnt regret about that 😊
In the near future comes ' VR HEPTIC GLOVES' its gonna be a big thing for planes with instrument panel switches.. By the way its a good comperising Xplane 11 on Vr before MFS Vr too..
1000 thumbs up Emilie. Great video and yes the unboxing of products are awesome..would like to see more. I'm might have to look into getting one. Really interested in how well it works with FS 2020.
Thank you 🤗
Great Vid Emilie! Looking forward to the next Live Stream Flight!
Yay!! Next one should be in December! 😁
@@Pilotemilie We Shall See You Then!!
Wow what an interesting and unique channel.
The YT algorithm got me here since I've been waiting on my G2 as well but your channel truly has lots of cool content to stay for - even as someone who wasn't interested in flights sims, there is quality content around the niche. Keep doing what you do!!
Awesome, thank you Henry!!
Well I've had my tree up for a week already so no it's not too early, just discovered your channel... Love it! 👍😁
Yay! Thanks Andrew!
I had the HP G1, you are going to love it.
DCS works with VR and its free. Yes play more VR games!
"free" Unless you want to do anything useful with it.
Ninja is a cool cat ....Black cats are always cool ...
Right?? I think so too!
We def need more of this!!
Thanks Chris! :)
Cheers, congrats on getting it your G2 early. Still waiting on mine. Can’t wait...
Hope you enjoy it!!
Most of the recent driving sims support VR too, if you're into that
I’ve had the headset a week and didn’t realise the headphones slide up and down also. Cool.
Excited for my G2 to arrive as well! Fs2020 is going to look nuts
Right?? I actually am most excited for that!
Emilie, you are getting very close to 100k subscribers. That is amazing growth in a very short time. Maybe that will be your Christmas present.
Or my birthday, on the 1st! lol :)
Why weren't you in my ear during me playing this??? lol thanks Greg!!
@@Pilotemilie Yeah, you want your left arm straight, and bring your right hand back to underneath your jaw on the right side of your face. By bringing your hand back to the same position each time, your shots are more consistent and the arrow trajectory is a lot easier to estimate. (It helps that when I played this game, I'd been doing archery for nearly a year... ;) )
At 18:58 - our own personal MRI! Amazing!!
Hey Emilie. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! Will do!
Try out DCS World in VR. There's actually a sale on right now btw! Worth getting the F/A-18C Hornet!! =) And you need to pull back the bow a bit more lol :p And don't ever let sunlight go into the lenses... it will destroy the screen.
oooooh shiiiit. That looks so cool
Wow, amazing. Should be super fun. I have the Reverb G1, and it is a great headset. The G2 is a decent improvement. I've thought about selling my G1 to get a G2. You need a pretty hefty GPU to drive it properly.
Totally agree!
Ed
You should have gotten a sponsorship you did such an excellent job selling their product.
Hopefully you can try out the closed MSFS 2020 beta. Wish I could share my thoughts on it here but there's an NDA atm :( . Also, Get beat saber. It's number 1 for a reason! For an added experience get The Blu season 1 and for more flight, DCS. I love the F-18 and the A10c. but there's usually 2 free aircraft that come with it if your just looking to try it out in VR.
cheers
Hmm.. 21:19 "Oh! I got his helmet!" Is this extra points? I need to know! Laughing so hard right now I can barely keep from choking on my popcorn!
Hi Emilie - Christmas festivities start on September 1 in the Philippines - so no, your not too early. So glad you avoided the Occulus and the Facebook account farrago.
Can’t wait for the Flight Simulator VR update and for you to try this out!
If 2020 VR has half as many troubles as the base 2020 product, make sure to get some soothing eye drops prior to testing it out.
I am waiting on my unit to arrive. DCS world is amazing. You are going to love it
Agreed DCS is a free intro to VR flight sim and its amazing.
DCS is terrible in VR. It is completely not optimized for VR. DCS is a mess in general now.
If you want to try flight siming in VR, you want IL2 Sturmovik Great Battles.
You definitely had WAY too much fun!!!
Always!!!
looks like a lot of fun!
So happy for you. Getting into VR is just a gamechanger on so many levels. ^_^
MSFS has launched its VR mode by now and I guess you've already tried it.
Awe Miss Ninja you're so gorgeous ❤️
Yes, more unboxing videos!
Any video that you post is awesome, honestly~
HP reverb G2 awesomeness 👌
I could just begin to imagine flight simulation while wearing the VR .
Blessings eternally 💫
Infinant love and gratitude!
Namaste ✨

👋 Emilie. That looked really cool it will be interesting to see how it would be for a flight sim. BTW it would be pretty funny if someone saw you through the window with your arms flailing around like that.🤣
I mean... they have me as a neighbour so i'm sure all bets are off at this point lol!
Seeing the inner child emerge was very entertaining.
Have fun!😀
Yea - I think I'm actually feeling it today too! Thanks for the tips :)
You wanna impress me...get Ninja a Christmas sweater....
never too early to be festive, gorgeous :D
🎉
I have glasses. So, I prefer the Natural Point Tracker IR5, that has the camera on your monitor and the three points of reference clips on your headphones. Lighter, cooler and you have your peripheral vision and can see the reality around you, rather than total immersion in a game. The HP will work, but the NP Tracker IR5 works better with FS2020, with all your gear you have. It is compatible with FS2020. With the HP, if you have money and want total inversion, but you may not be able to see your flight column and controls. I like your sweater. Festive! Try X-Plane 11, and land the Space Shuttle.
I Luv your special Guest!
Thanks Jeff!
Excellent Émilie and Ninja
Get Aerofly FS2. Is is great for VR plus there is a dash 8. Also War Thunder works very well. Both are super smooth.
I demand that Miss Ninja is featured at every video intro.
Love your videos! As a pilot are you worried about vision strain VR can cause?
I've used it for about 1hr at this point - I think I'll be ok 😅
I have MSFS installed but still using X-plane 11 and DCS due to VR. Hopefully not too long before MS add oculus support.
Fingers crossed!!
These are supposed to be great for driving sims too, maybe check some of those out - though without a wheel that may not be practical.
Hahaha, you had way too much fun. Looks cool. Thanks for sharing
you should try fpv , i think you would like it piloy emilie
