Cons: My ooler lasted til just after warranty ended, then stopped heating or cooling. They said to send them 180 dollars and the unit for repair. Sent it in, 3 weeks later they emailed and said "we can't repair it, sorry" and wouldn't refund the repair cost. Now my wife's unit is broken too and I'm out 1200+ dollars
great review! I was looking to actually get either this or the bed jet and I'm so glad that I found both your reviews. I am definitely not getting the bed jet because I also like the covers on top of me and you said that it doesn't really cool that well. I had a few questions about the ooler 1. this is not supposed to replace an AC unit right? when you tested did you have the AC on or off? did it actually cool to a desired temperature to sleep comfortably? sorry to hear that you didn't sleep well with this 2 also I was actually looking to get this product to save on my AC the electricity bill do you happen to know if it actually did save money on your electricity? thanks
Thank you for the kind words!!! 1. Correct, the ooler does not replace your AC. The pad is designed to keep the area in contact with the pad cooler. If the room is 90 degrees, it won’t cool you off. My house struggles to stay below 72 degrees in the summer (AC running frequently and the heat/humidity of Florida). The ooler worked well to keep my body cold despite the house staying warm. I was lying in bed, awake, but nice and cool (insomnia for other reasons I suppose). I could see the ooler dropping your energy bills, however I didn’t track this on my own. If you usually set your thermostat to 68 to stay cool, you could potentially bring that up a few degrees thus saving on energy bills as the unit doesn’t have much of an energy suck. If you are on the fence, I would say get it and give a try. If you don’t like it, shove it back in the box and get your Monday back (90 day money back guarentee). Hope this helps and have a great day!!!!
The first night that I used it was a bad experience. I woke up and when I got out of bed, I forgot the unit was on the floor. I stepped on it, fell into my nightstand knocking my lamp to the floor (that broke). As I was turning to gain my balance, I reached out for something to grab and pulled my tv off the wall (that broke). I tried to save my tv, but threw my back out. I then fell onto the floor, ass first onto the broken bulb from the lamp. I had to get 8 stitches in my ass. Luckily, it didn't hurt when the glass when in, because my ass was still numb from the ChiliSleep. Other than that, it's a great product!
If the room you are in is over 75 degrees, it’s not going to cool you off nearly as well as the air pulled into the unit cools off the water in the pad. If you would need an AC unit (or central air) to get the temp in your room down to 75, so be it. Hope this helps!
Great question! There is no cooling system in the ooler unit, it simply pulls air in from the room and blows it over the top of the water in the unit. If the room is too warm, then the water will not be cooled off. Hope this helps!
Hi, I know the new Chilli model is an improvement with a more comfortable and efficient pad, but still, just got to ask, back at the time of this upload, if not finance, maintenance or sound annoyance, was there any real reason not to just hang onto it and use it as and when desired. You look like a fit guy, would the heat sink benefits after an active summers day not have been reason enough to use it some nights whilst figuring out any/other sleep issues also, regards Jim
Great question. Personally, I don’t want the hassle of taking the pad on and off my bed, which takes 2-3 minutes each time. I’m the evening, I am out of the bedroom until I lie down to go right to sleep. If I had to set it up on nights when I was particularly toasty, it wouldn’t be very practical (fiancé goes to bed before me as well). That being said, it wouldn’t be the worst thing to get setup if you were looking for relief on particularly warm evenings. Hope this helps!!!!
Consider buying a portable AC to go with it. LG makes a top of the line dual inverter AC. I use one in the summer and it cools my entire 900 sq ft apartment. Small but not tiny, 2 bedroom, separate living, dining kitchen, and bath and 1/2, I use a couple of fans and ceiling fans but it can cool the entire house down to low 70’s when its over 100 degrees outside. I have the bedjet which so far works great, but considering getting this bed pad for the summer months as it will keep my bed even cooler.
I have had the same problem in addition to sending both units back because they weren’t cooling. Then one of the new units started leaking water. Now the hose from the pad leaks water. But when it worked it was great!
If you are trying to keep yourself cool, then it’s only going to be as cold as the ambient temperature of the room. Basically the pad is a heat sink, pulling your body warmth into the pad and then recirculating the water back into the pad. If the room is warm, it’s not going to keep the rest of your body cool. Hope this helps!
I guess the best explanation is that my insomnia didn’t improve with the implementation of the ooler. I was cool, but my sleep didn’t improve. Hope this helps!
My first thought was, now you're sleeping with a wireless device under your bed. Have you tried sleeping without any wireless devices powered on? I know this is a bit controversial, but it helped me - many others have said it helped. I have on my phone on airplane mode at night, and the WiFi router turned off. And put the smart watch away. Worth a try. 🙂
@@jaeshasway the heavy metal detox was for me. I had a urine test to assess my levels and the tool a few different supplements to coax it out. If you think this would be beneficial to better understand, let me know!!!

Hi I great reviews and thanks for your videos... witch sleeping system after many tries will u recommend as the "winner" ?
The ooler is solid. Bedjet sucks. Need to try the sleep 8
Great review! Thanks for laying out the pros AND cons.
You are very welcome Cody!!!
Nice honest review. I want to use a bed cooling system so I don't need to run an AC. I'll keep looking for one that facilitates that.
Please let me know if you find one!!!!

Sounds like a disasster 🤣🤣🤣
Well done my boy!
Just to confirm; I would need to have air conditioning in my bedroom for the Ooler to work?

7:58 what, why? If I sleep in a room with no AC... the chilipad is PERFECT for me? Why wouldn't it be?

Why do you have to take the pad on and off everytime between uses?
@@dubv62 You don't. I've had mine ~ 2 years and no need to take it off every time between uses.
I live in the tropics, it's 90 F in my room at night. Will this keep me cool?
I would think no. Hope this helps!

Is the pad comfortable? It looks stiff like a heating pad and would wake me up with it not being comfortable/soft/flexible
I thought the same, but I have to admit it didn’t really impede the comfort of my mattress. Felt fine to me. Hope this helps!
Do you have to use the app? is it connected to wifi/bluetooth or can that be turned off?
There is analog buttons on the unit, but you have to use the app for programming. Hope this helps!
How do you clean the pad?
I bought both the chilipad & chiliblanket for my couch & both have had leaking probs. So disappointed
That sucks!
