I can see a subscription for the most advanced features they are presumably always spending some money trying to improve, but not basic things like the alarm and option to just manually tell it when to cool/heat.
The BedJet is NOT a cooling machine like the Water ones. The Bedjet will ONLY get as cool as the temperature of your bedroom. I know this cuz I bought it and the first night it would only get down to 77 degrees even though I had the temperature on the unit set to 66 degrees. The message on the bedjet remote stated "the temperature cannot go below the ambient temperature of the room". I called customer support and they said this is not an air conditioning type unit and since it pulls in the air from the room, the room would have to be at 66 decrees. So basically the Bedjet is just a very expensive bed FAN. So I am returning this unit. I think you should have included this KEY fact in your review. Thankfully Bedjet will be returning all my money!!!
Thanks for this insight! I was considering buying this as it is the cheapest one but now knowing it is just an expensive fan, I will not be buying this!
You forget that the sweat on your skin is evaporated more quickly as air passes over you…so you cool yourself from the top down. Vs the EightSleep which cools you from the bottom-up, which is a much better approach, but much more expensive. My point is that the bed jet will feel much cooler than ambient air, even when it’s hot.
Dang, I just got mine today and it sucks. I wished I would have seen your comment before I bought it. Yea the guy should have mentioned the room temperature needing to be low. I will be returning it . I can build my own using inline tube fan with a hose.
Eight Sleep subscription plan is just ridiculous, I'd like to buy this but kinda having the prospect of maybe being poorer/unemployed in the future suddenly I can't afford this thing anymore is such a bad perspective.
@@sdspecto honestly I have a dock pro and laugh every time a review struggles with the lid. It looks like an infomercial trying to sell you a product so it’s easier to pour milk because normally it’s “so difficult.” The 1st time can be harder but then you take 3 seconds to look at the container and realize there are clear large notches that fit very obviously into the unit…and the “handle” part of the lid faces out so you can open it as needed. 8sleep looks awesome too (minus the subscription) but they don’t offer ½ king which is what I needed.
I owned the previous generation of Chilipad. The water pump broke after 2 years. I took it apart, and the pump was easy to change, but the company did not offer replacement parts. The water was easier to change/add than this model.
I tried the eight sleep but found it to be uncomfortable. Maybe it’s just a sensory thing for me, but I can subtly perceive the plastic and water underneath my body. It feels unnatural. Instead, I bought the bed jet. I’ve only tried it for one night but so far love it. It’s very refreshing and doesn’t feel artificial. The other bonus is that I save a ton of money and don’t have to deal with subscriptions.
You didn't really get in depth with the subscription on the bed 8 which is crazy expensive on top of that 2k price tag. Otherwise you answered all my questions I had 👍
@@ShervinShares I would love to see an every six months update from you on what products you are actually using in your daily life. It might also be nice to see what your parents or your close friends, based on your suggestions, are actually using.
I'm upgrading from their older model ooler, had big problems with it. Got 2.5 years out of it.. Seeing the dock pro only comes with 1 year warranty. $150 for another year doesnt show lots of faith in their product. Sucks paying 1.3k and it breaks in a year and a half again.
@shervinshares you did another video on a 1000 days with the 8 sleep. Did you have a leaking issue? Have you had other people reach out to you about the 8 sleep leaking? My wife and I have owned the Chilisleep system for about 3 years now and have had to replace our units 4 times! We’re ready to call it and buy the 8 sleep but now I’m hesitant.
Hey what about how to set the temps. I think 8 sleep with adjust your temps over the night with your sleep cycles. What about the other ones? Do you have to set it do you sleep as well on them?
Great video. I have a tempurpedic matress with a power base, and would have tried an eight sleep, but they say it is not compatible with any power /adjustable bases that can raise/lower the bed. The doc pro does claim to work fine with any adjustable matress/base so I got that. Shervin can you ask eight sleep about using the sleep pod with an adjustable matrress base?
Really seems like even after a few years of the market, these all suck. Seventy decibels while I'm trying to sleep?? Lmaooo. 8sleep seems almost serviceable but with a borderline criminal subscription charge. As soon as somebody puts one out that doesn't have a membership 8sleep will remove theirs, they're literally just being greedy. Anyway thanks for the non biased review this is probably the most reviewer compromised product I've seen in a while 😂
"For less than your daily cup of coffee (~ $0.50/night), the membership provides a personalized suite of services - which are constantly improving - to give you the best sleep possible." Yup...$15 a month after I paid thousands of dollars already = some greedy a$$ mf-ers
I had an 8 Sleep and it was great until it got leaks, which nearly ruined my new $4K mattress. I moved on to the Perfectly Snug system and it's been going strong for 2 years now. It doesn't cool all the way down or heat up like the 8 sleep, but it works for me, I don't have to worry about water leaks. I have peace of mind.
I would really like to see you mention how the units might change the feel of the bed. Does the eight sleep change the firmness since water is running through the unit? Also, what about the controls? Can you adjust them easily in the middle of the night or do you have to interact with your phone all the time?
@@ThanksJanie I have a Purple RestorePlus mattress and the eight sleep has about ½” - 1” of foam to make it so you can’t feel the tubing. In effect, it’s a foam topper and it completely removes the comfort/feel of purple’s gelflex grid. So yes, in the specific case of purple mattresses, it makes the mattress firmer.
I have a purple mattress as well and 8sleep does for sure make the mattress firmer very discomforting but I love to stay cold. I guess you have to pick do you want cold or hard bed
Appreciate the review, but these really need to be live tested during the night. I had a chilly pad originally and yes, it definitely feels cool when you get it. But very soon the temperature of your body warms the water and it never gets back to the level it started at. The bedjet, which I have now, does not cool but using a fan. This "feels" cooler but is never going to be as good as a dedicated AC. But its better enough that for a lot of hot California nights we don't need to put the AC on.
I've heard SO many horror stories about the Eight Sleep leaking and getting moldy. I'm so nervous about this! Would love to know if it is a loud few who had problems, or if this is a common issue.
wait so i sleep under the bedjet sheets or on top of them? so the bedjet doesnt have any "cooling" function aka an AC built in, it just blows air straight from the room into ur bed?
You sleep under the Bedjet sheet. If you're using the cloud sheet, you should also put some other comforter on top, to help keep the air under the sheet and keep it from puffing up so much. You can also use Bedjet without the cloud sheet just under your own sheets, but then the air doesn't distribute as evenly so you kinda just have it blowing at your feet lol. Bedjet doesn't have any active cooling, it just blows room temperature air (or it can heat it up). But it does pull air from the coolest part of the room by the floor under the bed. I find most of the time it's cool enough for me. Just the air movement helps me from getting sweaty at night.
@@ShervinShares Thank you for saying it. It would be even better if you show the email. But sure, we trust you... And not so much other content creators... And not so much this borderline scammy company.
