@@mhatrey GUY it is an honest video at the time of making it, don't be an ass and start questioning the honesty of something I've done just because you're seeing it now and not when it was made.
How do these devices cool the water? Do they have a thermoelectric or compression cooler? Or are they using water evaporation as the cooling method? I’ve heard other reviews that said the room temp dictates how cold the bed gets which shouldn’t matter if it’s using active refrigeration like thermoelectric or compressor cooling.
BE WARNED people, most free stuff on 8 sleep are NOW behind a paywall. You now have to pay monthly for scheduling, vibration alarm, sleep tracking, and autopilot. This subscription is such an anti-consumer move that make me regret even considering this company. Otherwise nice video.
Yeah they’ve always had a paywall but it does seem like they took something’s that use to be free and put it behind a paywall which is honestly kind of ridiculous
If you're happy with just the basic functions, ON/OFF and ability to set a temp, and don't need the AI and all that. Do you still have to have a subscription?
I've been using Sleep 8 for about a year and a half and it's been OK. The sleep tracking has not worked for what seems like at least 6 months. I should probably call them to troubleshoot - bother. The sleep tracking wasn't that accurate anyway. The app is not that easy to use and I haven't been able to figure out how to make the weekday schedule turn off the bed at a set time which means it has to be turned off manually using the phone every morning. Bother. It must be connected to the cloud to work which means if the wireless connection is lost or if Sleep 8 goes out of business, the system is useless. The good is the system has worked for the entire time (except for the tracking) and even living in the desert, it gets cold enough during the summer. The time to come to temp is not a problem for me. Does this vastly improve my admittedly not great sleep? No. But it does make the bed a lot more comfortable and probably saves on heating and cooling costs because the room and house don't need to be heated or cooled as much thanks to the mattress. Also, the pod is very quiet and does not use a lot of water. I think it tries too hard with the AI which over complicates the device and necessitates the cloud connection. If it just did a simple heating and cooling schedule, with local control which wasn't reliant upon cloud services, that would be better.
As soon as I realised this requires a cloud subscription for the device to even work, I discounted it immediately. I’m not going to be paying over £2K for a slightly more comfortable oversized brick when the internet goes down…!
I’m not sure why it would it’s like a soft blanked that goes over your mattress - I’m on my third mattress with it and it doesn’t effect a mattresses firmness imo
Hey Brandon, I'm just thinking about buying an eight pod sleep system, so I'm wondering if you're still using it and what your thoughts about it, are you still in favor of it, happy with it, did you had any complains after all?
Hi Brandon. Thanks for the video. Seems like 8sleep is better overall if you can afford it, but my main concern is the point you made about how it takes *a lot* longer to reach temp, and how there's a layer of insulation between thermoregulation tech and us. Does it eventually cool enough to make the bed go COLD ? i want your honest opinion on that. cause seems like Dock Pro is very efficient at cooling down fast. I currently have an Ooler, and it's so unreliable I need to upgrade.
Thanks for the Brutally honest comparison. I've learned a lot. Anytime I have to pay a monthly anything outside of paying for the unit itself makes me feel like I don't own it.
it seems like a paid membership is now required, this is from their website: "A membership is required for the first 12 months, and the cost covers two separate users per Pod."
Do any of them work without requiring wifi or BT to be transmitting from the COVER (after the initial setup is done)? I would prefer to not spend 8 hrs each day with the electromagnetic radiation transmitting so close to my body. TIA
@@DbeeSapphire I don't know first hand, but ended up getting the BedJet which doesn't have any wifi or BT in the sheets - all in the base unit which sits at the end of the bed. Don't know about the other models
Okay. I’ve had the old version of Chili Sleep for 4 years now. But I’m having problems with it. Today I took the plunge and bought the 8 sleep with your review and code. Thanks!
My bed articulates would that stress constantly break the eight sleep cover? Also what about weight on the cover and impact, my son finds it fun to wake up via wrestling slams and jumps? The idea of sleep tracking without using a watch or wearable is enough to catch my attention.
I'm not sure on the breaking it would really depend on how much it articulates, but no worries on impact from a jumping son. It's not going to affect the bed at all:)
Nice review and very detailed, however a lot has changed since you released this video. I wanted to purchase the sleep 8 pod 3 after your review but it says you have to commit to a membership if you want all the bells and whistles you mentioned. $10/month includes Automatic temperature, vibration & thermal alarm $15/month includes Automatic temperature, vibration & thermal alarm, sleep & health reports $24/month includes Automatic temperature, vibration & thermal alarm, sleep & health reports, lifetime warranty And these are actually billed ONCE annually so $120, $180 or $288 but they break down what it would equate to so that you don't feel like it's actually a lot of money I don't appreciate that your lifetime warranty is only active if you select the most expensive membership You also cannot change between memberships or you probably can but I doubt you can suddenly add the higher one at a random time but the warranty is probably not included only at purchase in assuming? I have also read horror stories of their customer support with people giving up all hope because of their frustration I think I would be more inclined to purchase if the lifetime warranty was included on all models regardless of membership and if the customer service team had better reviews Other than that I wish I could try this product out but with such a high price and strange membership pricing, I would trust the dock pro system who doesn't push a membership since you can buy it at retailers like best buy. I didn't know they had a membership until you mentioned it here. I think for simplicity sake the dock pro sounds good if you do not invest in the added accessories. I would otherwise wait for future product launches but would invest and accept the imperfections of a simple standard cooling system that works at its main function 🤷🏻♀️ unless you're alright with spending $288/year for all the gadgets from the sleep 8 for that lifetime warranty although I guess it's not bad if dock pro has a 2 year limited warranty? But their customer service.... idk man 🫤 it's almost a flip of the coin if you think about it
I just saw this and it’s really really frustrating. The 8 sleep is a much better solution, but it was already priced at a point where it’s not accessible for most, and the paywalling of features now into a monthly subscription I think is a gross move.
@Brandon Talbot thank your for verifying the membership options weren't as they are today as when you released this video. I'm guessing members who purchased this product back aren't subject to this change. My husband says we should bite the bullet on the sleep 8 and hope for the best. You should review their customer service whenever you have any issues in the future and have to do an inquiry. Thanks again!
@@rebecarodriguez91 I’ll be diving into it again for sure. Both companies have had their issues but during the recording of this video 8 sleep had far far fewer.
Hi Brandon! Thanks for the review, it was great! I am very interested in it, thinking of buying the pod 3 cover: Still checking some other options. This might sound like a “silly” question, but is the cover “Delicate”? I mean, if there is “rough action” on it, wouldn’t damage the cover, mechanism or grid that is used to run the distilled water? Thanks for your answer! And once again, thanks for the review!
Hey Brandon, so I have/had the Ooler with the Chilipad. I found the pad to be uncomfortable and u could feel the pipping. I understand that the new system you’re not supposed to feel that? I’m leaning toward Pod3, however I have an adjustable mattress. Do you have any feedback/knowledge on how that carries over to the Pod3/pad?The Chilipad was horrible. It got all crumpled. Lastly which system water cleaning is easier? I hate the Chilipad/Ooler powder and system cleaning. Thx
We have an adjustable bed now and with the Pod3 I can feel no shifting. The pod3 also has a much better fit than the oolers pad. Cleaning is far far easier with the Pod3 and it’s far less often of an occurrence.
The mattress is great - life changing in fact. Their customer service leaves something to be desired, which is unfortunate with such an expensive product. I signed up for the app, which is almost $200. I get a lot more value out of my Oura ring at a fraction of the cost. When you sign up, it’s clear that it’s auto-renew. I get that. But companies who offer excellent customer service will send their subscribers a reminder about their annual membership renewals. A great example is the Clear airport membership of similar pricing. They just sent me a reminder that my card will be charged. I saw a pending charge on my credit card on Eight Sleep, contacted their customer service to cancel, and after several emails back and forth, they still won’t reimburse me for this year’s membership. So bye bye almost $200. Most other companies will reimburse you if you catch it early - not Eight Sleep. For the price, I'm asking Eight Sleep to give excellent customer service - they didn’t. Get the mattress, skip the app.
i’m fairly certain you need to pay for the app for 1 year…i hate this crazy off monthly service charges and you can’t get away from it for the first year
With other sleep systems you can’t schedule by the hour or atleast the last time I used SleepMe’s scheduler you could set by the hour but not for every hour just 3-4 time changes. But to answer your question I’m changing the temp using the AutoPilot FAR less than the hourly scheduler
What worries me about buying one of these is how dependent they are on their respective cloud service. Here in Australia for example the Pod3 cover is AUD$3,995 and then AUD$24 a month. Additionally if the business were to close are you then left with a mattress cover that will not function as the cloud service is closed. I guess what I'm hoping for is any assurance that if you are off grid (or the business folds) you can still use the product.
Would you recommend waiting for 8 Sleep to release a new version, such as a Pod4? I’m not sure how long the Pod3 has been out, but hate to buy Pod3 and 3 months later Pod4 releases with significant improvements.
I had the chili cube for like 6 years and it finally crapped out on me! But it’s been brutal sleeping on a hot memory foam. The 8 Sleep is an outrageous unaffordable price which literally is the cost of my 2k airpedic mattress. Idk why they justify this price! What’s your thoughts on Duel Temp from sleep number? It’s air based vs water without all the AI stuff.
Having owned both an Ooler and an 8 Sleep system, I find the 8 sleep is worth the price difference. The ooler matress pad also ended up with burn marks. 👀
My dock pro started leaking about a 2 months ago. After weeks of emailing and calling, I find out here they are out of business. Well heck. It was nice while it didn’t leak, hope the 8 sleep is as good as you say. After a year of cool sleep I’m going into debt before I go back to sweating.
How much energy does it use ? I plan on doing solar power. Also side question. Have you ever found a good weighted sheet for very hot summers ? Ie. I thought about chain mail. But I think it might shift too much without being tapered down in some way. Weather stitched to some good bamboo sheet or elastic cords tethering it to bead. Any suggestions ?? Subbed.. Love know you expertise.
Since you have both, would it be possible to connect the 8sleep cover to the Dock-Pro system? My Dockpro cover started leaking (I think one of the cats got at it) and since Chilli sleep is out of business getting a new cover is not an option but currently spending the 2700 on an all new system is not really in the cards right now, from what I have seen the connectors look the same but its hard to tell from pictures.
My 8 sleep leaked, and they got me a new pod and mattress in about 2 week. I had the last one for a little more than a year. I love 8 sleep. It was a little expensive but great.
The sleep me is a fraction of the cost and doesn't require any monthly subscriptions. I feel like these two products are intended for two different consumers.
I mean they’re intended for the same customers since they do the same thing but I see where you’re coming from. Since I’ve owned both I can only share my perspective and experience. That being said, somewhere down the line chilisleep got new ownership, and everything went down the tube. The DockPros had horrible QC and after 3-4 months most of them broke. On top of that their customer service was non existent. Many people were out the $1900 they paid for them (not really that much less when compared to the similar Pod3). I too hate the EightSleep subscription. I’ve told them many times, it feels like a bunk reason they’ve stated why it’s mandatory. I don’t buy it. I don’t know why they can’t offer it as an add on like they used to. But unquestionably it’s a better unit and experience than the SleepMe DockPro
Thanks for this. My Dock Pro has been my favorite thing I've ever owned for the last 7 months. It transformed my sleep in the best way. But it recently started leaking badly and now I'm learning that this is extremely common. It has caused damage to my floor. And now I have to send it in. They say I will get it back in 1 to 3 weeks, but I am skeptical based on what I'm hearing. I hope they are working hard to fix the mechanical problem that makes these units leak so often, because other than that it is a brilliant product. Cools and heats so effectively and so quickly. And quietly. And looks nice. My other complaint is that it took forever to receive it after I ordered it last summer and they gave me the run around on that. The Dock Pro is a splurge. The 8Pod is completely out of reach.
I went dock pro because my wife doesn't have temperature issues and I do. She also didn't want to deal with a cooling system on her side. It comes tomorrow and I know that not waking up hot is gonna help me a lot
@mrantisocial1 so far so good. I actually need it hotter because of the cold weather now. I dosleep tracking through my garmin so I have not subscribed to sleepme's stuff. Now the only thing interfering with my sleep is my bad havits
So the biggest problem I see is that the eight sleep products CANNOT be used on an adjustable bed whereas the sleepme products can! I confirmed this by calling each company and speaking with their respective representatives. So I will have to go with the Sleepme Dock Pro!
Thank you for the review. I just got the Dock Pro system and have been pleased with it. I have not had any issues connecting to it, unusual temperature changes etc. However, I have to fill the water daily, which is not an issue for me yet, but I am sure it will eventually start frustrating me. I have not considered the AI subscription yet as I have my temperatures and schedule set up for my sleep cycle, (My sleep times are very consistent.) Having said all the above, I wish I had seen this review earlier, as I probably would have bought the 8 Sleep system instead. I will continue to use the Dock Pro for now, and as long as it works for me, I will live with the cons; if they become too frustrating, I may consider getting the 8 Sleep system at a later stage. Overall, the most essential factor for me is that it works. My sleep has improved, making it one of my best investments. Thank you again for the review.
You're right, when they work it's amazing and I can't see not having one the rest of my life. BUT what a pain in the rear my Chilisleep DockPro has been. It has never been able connect to wifi, as if it doesn't exist. It has never been able to connect to BluTooth. Oddly my phone sees it but the unit won't connect. So it runs in "airplane" mode, meaning you do all the controlling using the buttons on the top of the unit, which is fine by me. Luckily I didn't trust putting something with a water tank on my hardwood floor. I put it in a big Rubber-Made tub. The unit worked fantastic all night, but sure enough after being turned off, sometime during the day it emptied the tank out into the tub. This is something it does on a fairly regular basis. Even when it doesn't, you have to add water every day. In fact today I followed the instructions of a RUclips where they showed me how to replace the water check valve with a valve from Amazon. So I'll see if that changes anything. Another problem is that for some reason at least 3 days a week it turns itself off in the middle of the night, I get uncomfortable enough to wake up sweating and have to get up to turn it on again. Around the 3 month mark the mattress sprung a leak, but I had read reviews telling me to put a water proof cover under it just in case, so no damage done to my mattress and customer service was very pleasant and replaced it quickly. But man o man , when it works it's really great. I hope when this one finally dies they have upgraded to a newer more reliable model because I absolutely will get another.
Do they not give you the option to just set it to certain temp like the old cubes and not have to mess with any of the wifi issues? The last thing I need is another app to keep tabs on me.
Hey Brad. Well you can still buy the old Cube if that's what you want but because these have wifi it allows you to start/stop and change other parameters if you're not right in front of the machine. The DockPro has physical buttons like the cube but the pod pro does not. And in my experience since I've used the Cube, Ooler, DockPro, Pod2 and the Pod3, the Pod3's AI is so good there's no need to even set a temperature it does everything for you and it keeps you asleep longer, so you're not waking up in the middle of the night because the temperature isn't where you need it.
If the option to buy the eight sleep without the app or wifi requirement, I'd buy it tomorrow, im looking for a good bed, I'm willing to spend up to 5000. The fact I have to connect it to wifi and have an app is a hard no for me. I dont want nor do I care about any of the fluff or information. I dont need an app to tell me how well I slept. When I wake up feeling good, I slept well, when I wake up feeling bad, I slept poorly. I want a bed that will keep me cool. I sleep extremely hot on top of living in the desert. There's a 99% chance I'll be setting it to the lowest setting and keeping it there the entire time. I also work a rotating 4 week dupont so having a bed trying to "calibrate" and decide what's best for me when I work days and nights with rapidly changing sleep schedules is an irritant. I have 5000 dollars for a comfortable and firm bed with a cooling system, no app, no wifi, no nonsense... where can I find that?
Whoop HRV is a metric that evaluates how suited or adapted for stress and it can increase or decrease depending on a ton of different factors so really hard to run a control just for devices like these. Usually you’re biggest increase of HRV is correlated to improving capacity and fitness
@@BrandonTalbot The 8Sleep HRV is a different metric then Whoop? I don't see how you can't compare the 8Sleep HRV vs the Whoop HRV as you have both numbers in the morning? My Whoop HRV has increase by 20% while using 8Sleep and I don't sleep on it every night. What is strange is how my deep sleep and REM has not increased while using 8Sleep. I do have a better recovery while sleeping on 8Sleep vs sleeping at work.
Hey! Any chance in asking your sleepme contact for an at home cleaning solution option since theirs isn’t available anymore? Really hope 8sleep removes their forced 1 year subscription! And starts to offer half-king options!
Points for having 5ghz? Less range and higher bandwidth, which is useless for a mattress cover… Pod 3 adding subscription is an automatic loss for me. Who needs a monthly fee for a mattress cover. All data can be processed on your phone, it’s not like it needs to be sent to their servers for processing. Just a cash grab
I send 8sleep a screenshot of every one of these messages. At some point I’d love for them to realize they are losing lots of customers for a subscription model.
Doc pro does NOT require wifi, needs wifi to use the ap but you can manually control the device from the interface on the front. I have a sleep number so the sleepiq app does all sleep tracking for free. SO i dont use the addon tracker. Also I had the first cube for 10 years before I upgraded, and had many iteractions with the company and had no issues what so ever.
Howdy Brandon. Appreciate this review. My experience with the doc pro has been similar, and overall positive. In addition to being less expensive, the doc pro has a single side unit for about half the cost. So for an individual, even with the flaws, the dock pro, unless you just have thousands to spend, maybe a better choice. I'll also add that initially we got the whole king size dock pro. But my wife didn't like it. I returned and sleep me took care of everything very well. Lastly, as I experienced the issues with the docpro turning on that random times, I found that there was a stealth time zone setting; it didn't look like a time zone was set, but it was actually set to... Well I can't remember, but it wasn't set to my time zone. Fixing that fixed the seemingly random start and stop and wake times. Overall, it's hard to imagine going back to non-thermo regulated sleep, and for me the dock pro was worth the investment, and this is a large part to your work in this area, so thanks again.
I was debating both of these products, but ended up choosing the Pod3 instead. However, my wife likes her old bed jet more because it heats her up faster. Lol... Did you experience any bunching/shifting issues with the DockPro SleepMe? It's basically half the price if I buy the ME version only. Also, the MAIN reason why I didn't go with the DockPro is because I've read a LOT of complaints about leaking with it. I haven't read a lot of leak issues with the Pod3. Curious your thoughts on the leak issue with the DockPro.
Great review! I appreciate you covering the customer service aspect as I have been diving in on Reddit, but did not check the BBB. Would be interested to hear how your partner (don't want to make any assumptions) feels about the systems? Any insights on their release schedule for new models?

Great Vid Brandon. Love my Dock Pro. Unfortunately one of the units has an issue of water overflowing the cannister. I have reached ut to Sleepme and just got an automated response. Researching - there's been a lot of complaints that they are not responding to anything. The BBB has them now in an "F" Rating. Many are saying they are going bankrupt. Dude…. I bought the DockPro based on your previous videos recommending it. I regret it. I’ve had a horrible WiFi experience with two faulty units. I have replacements and them seem to be working much better now. Also, the subscription price is a joke! 40 bucks a month is insane.

Thanks for the input on the sleep tracker, Bryan. I was thinking about ordering it but I'll hold off for now. I've had the Dock Pro a few months. Initially I was tracking all the wifi disconnects to write to customer service if I had an issue. But I haven't had a disconnect in over a month now! Good video overall by Brandon but this "unbiased" video did not come off as unbiased lol. Still, gave some good insights on the hyber AI which is what I really wanted to know. I can't comment to the 8sleep (and I'm sure it's great) but some of the complaints against the Dock Pro seemed like a bit of stretch. I do agree that anyone who uses either of these will never go back to not using this sort of technology!!! Life changing for me!
I would love to see you cover ongoing maintenance in your review. Seems like Dock Pro maintenance is way more involved/time-consuming/ complicated than Eight Sleep.
My question is from an engineer prospective not having owned one yet. 1) it seems that evaporative cooling will eventually pose a mineral problem. 2) traditional poly tubing is pretty hard to break. But gettiing my memory foan mattress wet would destroy it. I presume they are simply making the pad with openings moldedbin and not using sperate tubing encapsulated?
What stats specifically would you like? Sleep duration, HRV, Recovery percentage, you want a hypnogram, RHR, do you want these stats from the 3 different wearables I’ve used or straight from the bed? How do I quantify in numbers “I was so hot and uncomfortable, but my bed stayed cool all night and I didn’t wake up covered in sweat.”? you want all the details to the studies go to look at all the studies done on how temperature effects sleep.
Thanks for this video Brandon, great as always! Glad to finally see someone discuss the quality issues these devices have. I hear about these devices constantly on podcasts from respected biohackers I trust but have trouble finding non-sponsored reviews. I’ve been ready to purchase these 3 times in the past couple years but then return to the Reddit reviews about terrible quality & customer service experiences and abandon my cart. Hoping these companies get better QA & CS as they grow so potential customers can feel confident in their investment. Until then, it just doesn’t make sense for me to get one, no matter how much it could improve my sleep.
Sleep monitoring sounds like marketing nonsense rather than engineering reality. For the money it looks like their playing the odds of finding enough suckers. I'd sooner go down to Home Depot and getting some ducting hooked up to a blower fan.
Interviewed with 8 Sleep was more than qualified for the job even though it was low-paying. Made it through 9 interviews. Entire company was essentially CEO worship and as soon as I met with the CEI was clear he was not interested in me because of my weight. He kept stressing it was a fitness company and that someone would need to be a "representative" of that. Definitely would not recommend if you choose to spend your money with reputable people.
Weird none of these people would actually pay for either product. Hard to remain unbiased when you don't drop over the 2k I just did. Good review, just an opinion of an individual.
In my case, I didn’t pay for either one so one company doesn’t have more leverage than the either. And I think you’d be surprised how hard I am on these companies and communicate with them when they make dumb decisions that affect the people that did have to pay for them.
I have and paid for the dock pro. Love it but obviously it has the big issue of no being available anymore lol. The tech is life changing if you are a hot sleeper (like, you’re losing hours of sleep a night because of it). I’m already putting money aside in case my dock pro breaks one day (since the company seems to be out of business).

I've been using Sleep 8 for about a year and a half and it's been OK. The sleep tracking has not worked for what seems like at least 6 months. I should probably call them to troubleshoot - bother.
Thanks for your time and comment. I know those who read it are appreciative.
As soon as I realised this requires a cloud subscription for the device to even work, I discounted it immediately. I’m not going to be paying over £2K for a slightly more comfortable oversized brick when the internet goes down…!
It is kind of a huge oversight
Hopefully new products will come out just like these that are a fraction of the cost.
Check out Bed Jet Tyler:)
Have u tried the sleep number 360 climate? Please make a review
I have not.
Can you please comment on 8sleep firmness? That seems like common complaint about the pod pro cover turning a soft mattress into a firm one
Love it, bought a second for our guest room. Far far less maintenance with it compared to the DockPro
If you don’t need sleep tracking from the cooling pad and you only need one half of the bed cooled, is the Ooler still a good option?
NO. Unfortunately the cooler had more problems than anything. I'd stick to the DockPro, or the cube. but not the Ooler.
Oh yeah still very cold. It just takes longer to get there. But the cooling is also more even you don’t get cold spots like you do on the dock pro.
Thanks for the Brutally honest comparison. I've learned a lot.
Anytime I have to pay a monthly anything outside of paying for the unit itself makes me feel like I don't own it.
Well said!
Its like renting something after buying it
it seems like a paid membership is now required, this is from their website:
"A membership is required for the first 12 months, and the cost covers two separate users per Pod."
Do any of them work without requiring wifi or BT to be transmitting from the COVER (after the initial setup is done)? I would prefer to not spend 8 hrs each day with the electromagnetic radiation transmitting so close to my body. TIA
Once past the initial setup both do.
Did you get an additional answer or information? I would assume it hope the WiFi is in the tower, not in the bed cover.
@@DbeeSapphire I don't know first hand, but ended up getting the BedJet which doesn't have any wifi or BT in the sheets - all in the base unit which sits at the end of the bed. Don't know about the other models
@@cgott42
I hope if I get one, it also doesn’t have a wife in the sheets 😁 I know you meant WiFi. Couldn’t resist. Sorry 🙂
I am a bit confused. Are you able to control both sides independently (on the 8 Sleep) without the membership?
Me too. I’ve sent them an email to clarify
Okay. I’ve had the old version of Chili Sleep for 4 years now. But I’m having problems with it.
Today I took the plunge and bought the 8 sleep with your review and code. Thanks!
Hey hey thank you for the support and I hope you love it as much as I do!
If you are going to do a sound comparrison - can you turn off the backing music.
$10/month includes Automatic temperature, vibration & thermal alarm
$15/month includes Automatic temperature, vibration & thermal alarm, sleep & health reports
$24/month includes Automatic temperature, vibration & thermal alarm, sleep & health reports, lifetime warranty
And these are actually billed ONCE annually so $120, $180 or $288 but they break down what it would equate to so that you don't feel like it's actually a lot of money
I don't appreciate that your lifetime warranty is only active if you select the most expensive membership
You also cannot change between memberships or you probably can but I doubt you can suddenly add the higher one at a random time but the warranty is probably not included only at purchase in assuming?
I have also read horror stories of their customer support with people giving up all hope because of their frustration
I think I would be more inclined to purchase if the lifetime warranty was included on all models regardless of membership and if the customer service team had better reviews
Other than that I wish I could try this product out but with such a high price and strange membership pricing, I would trust the dock pro system who doesn't push a membership since you can buy it at retailers like best buy.
Nope it’s incredibly durable
How does this affect the comfort of the bed on luxury mattresses?
We have a luxury mattresses and it hasn’t effected it
Hey Brandon, so I have/had the Ooler with the Chilipad.
The mattress is great. But if you haven’t tried what 8 sleep is really good at, the thermoregulation, you really need to.
I've seen your comment spammed across videos, what's going on?
i’m fairly certain you need to pay for the app for 1 year…i hate this crazy off monthly service charges and you can’t get away from it for the first year
Without an EEG how much more accurate can the sleep phases change of temperature be than by the hour anyway?
Yeah the DockPro you could, I’m not sure about the future off grid solution from 8 sleep though
Would you recommend waiting for 8 Sleep to release a new version, such as a Pod4? I’m not sure how long the Pod3 has been out, but hate to buy Pod3 and 3 months later Pod4 releases with significant improvements.
Yeah I have no inside information on a new pod on the horizon
I had the chili cube for like 6 years and it finally crapped out on me! But it’s been brutal sleeping on a hot memory foam.
The 8 Sleep is an outrageous unaffordable price which literally is the cost of my 2k airpedic mattress. Idk why they justify this price!
What’s your thoughts on Duel Temp from sleep number? It’s air based vs water without all the AI stuff.
I’ve never used it so I wouldn’t be great at giving you a recommendation on it. Sorry.
Having owned both an Ooler and an 8 Sleep system, I find the 8 sleep is worth the price difference. The ooler matress pad also ended up with burn marks. 👀
Good to know!@@JaimeBlanco666
My dock pro started leaking about a 2 months ago. After weeks of emailing and calling, I find out here they are out of business. Well heck. It was nice while it didn’t leak, hope the 8 sleep is as good as you say. After a year of cool sleep I’m going into debt before I go back to sweating.
Wait till at least Tuesday - got a new video going out about both companies
they are definitely still in business, quick google search confirms you can still buy off their website
Great review. I will buy one of these units. Do you have phone numbers for these companies so I can speak to a live person? Thank you, Barry Walker
I wonder if someone can make a larger reservoir for the dock pro.
Well they went bankrupt so I’m not sure it’s worth anyone’s time
can this be used in an adjustable bed?
can you make 2 profiles for a king one side me, one side her?
Two profiles? yes. Adjustable bed? I’m not sure.
Hi where do I find best discount code and for how much for 8 sleep? Thank you
All the best codes are in the description :)
The SleepMe brand offers a thermoregulated weighted blanket!
Hey Oliver I actually have a new video coming out Tuesday that I think can help you.
This was super helpful! Thanks so much for putting this out there.
So glad to hear man.
My 8 sleep leaked, and they got me a new pod and mattress in about 2 week. I had the last one for a little more than a year. I love 8 sleep. It was a little expensive but great.
Thanks for sharing!
Hello Brando
Thanks for the video it was helpful
Do any of those 2 works with adjustable bed?
Thanks
The SleepMe does IF you buy the ME option.
Is there ANY product like this that doesn’t require Wi-Fi? I hate that they require Wi-Fi
I don’t believe bed-jet
Does that include 2.4GHz remotes or specifically wifi ?
@@AndyMcBlane No clue I'm just pretty sure Bed-Jet doesn't use wi-fi
@@AndyMcBlane Just wifi
Just need to cut your background music during the noise comparison
Yeah the QC is my only concern. Which sucks cause it’s so damn powerful and quick
Do you check the BBB before purchasing a product? What about Reddit?
Reddit for sure!
Reddit 👍
Nicely reviewed. Super helpful. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I went dock pro because my wife doesn't have temperature issues and I do. She also didn't want to deal with a cooling system on her side. It comes tomorrow and I know that not waking up hot is gonna help me a lot
I hope you love it!
How do you like it?
@mrantisocial1 so far so good. I actually need it hotter because of the cold weather now. I dosleep tracking through my garmin so I have not subscribed to sleepme's stuff. Now the only thing interfering with my sleep is my bad havits
So the biggest problem I see is that the eight sleep products CANNOT be used on an adjustable bed whereas the sleepme products can! I confirmed this by calling each company and speaking with their respective representatives. So I will have to go with the Sleepme Dock Pro!
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!
It
Thank you for the review.
Dennis clad you had a good experience so far! Thanks for watching.
Don't, the 8 is not better in any way
You're right, when they work it's amazing and I can't see not having one the rest of my life.
Chilisleep has shit the bed unfortunately. They used to be somewhat good, but they had an ownership change and they've gone the way of Boeing.
How cold does this get?
55 degrees
Then I'd recommend the BedJet. You don't need wifi, but I have no experience with how cold it gets, or how reliable it is.
@@BrandonTalbot thank you, I'll look into that one
What’s the 8sleep data vs your whoop? And have you seen an increase in whoop hrv with either device?
Bought them all, sent them all back. Ended up with the BedJet 3. Sometimes low-tech is... just better.
Making a video on that right now
Hey! Any chance in asking your sleepme contact for an at home cleaning solution option since theirs isn’t available anymore?
Really hope 8sleep removes their forced 1 year subscription! And starts to offer half-king options!
They were fired months ago unfortunately. The solution is just distilled water and hydrogen peroxide.
@@BrandonTalbot on man!
Thanks! Probably similar to what 8 sleep recommends.
Yeah it was just a way for them to try and make more money
Points for having 5ghz? Less range and higher bandwidth, which is useless for a mattress cover… Pod 3 adding subscription is an automatic loss for me. Who needs a monthly fee for a mattress cover. All data can be processed on your phone, it’s not like it needs to be sent to their servers for processing. Just a cash grab
I send 8sleep a screenshot of every one of these messages. At some point I’d love for them to realize they are losing lots of customers for a subscription model.
Great review! I’m just relieved that our butts are still intact! 😂
hahahaha
Doc pro does NOT require wifi, needs wifi to use the ap but you can manually control the device from the interface on the front. I have a sleep number so the sleepiq app does all sleep tracking for free. SO i dont use the addon tracker. Also I had the first cube for 10 years before I upgraded, and had many iteractions with the company and had no issues what so ever.
I will double check with SleepMe but I am almost certain it requires Wi-Fi for the setup process but then yes you can control it externally after
Howdy Brandon.
Stoked to hear that it's been a good experience!
Where is your shirt from? Thing is mad drippy
My buddy David Manning makes it.
I explain the leaking in the video, it happened once. they updated it and I haven’t had that issue since. pros and cons to both systems
Great review! I appreciate you covering the customer service aspect as I have been diving in on Reddit, but did not check the BBB. Would be interested to hear how your partner (don't want to make any assumptions) feels about the systems?
Any insights on their release schedule for new models?

Yeah I’ll circle back around for sure in the near future.
8pod required a stupid ass subscription on top of costing so much. Insane
Agreed
My question is from an engineer prospective not having owned one yet. 1) it seems that evaporative cooling will eventually pose a mineral problem. 2) traditional poly tubing is pretty hard to break. But gettiing my memory foan mattress wet would destroy it. I presume they are simply making the pad with openings moldedbin and not using sperate tubing encapsulated?
Generally when these things leak, they leak from the unit and not from the tubes
Show us your stats of how it has improved your sleep? Otherwise this is just heresay and doesn't show us that it actually improves sleep
I appreciate your accurate, honest non-biased review. Got my sub
Thanks for the sub!
Excellent review. Thx for the honesty.
Thanks for watching
thanks for the demo and info, have a great day
Thanks for watching!
Glad you enjoyed the video. I know they are trying, but the delayed customer service times are just not acceptable at this point.
Only review I've found of the AI systems, much appreciated.
Thanks for watching!
Great video and review. Thank you!
Thank you🙏🏽
Thank you for the review!
My pleasure Andy!
Any reviewer who doesn't provide info in both Celsius and farenheit is annoying. Just put them on screen if you're too lazy to say them out loud
Didn’t think about that, I’ll do that in the future: thanks for the help.
8 sleep can suck it. Absolutely no way am i gonna get into a subscription just for a damn sleeping pad. You cant even buy it without a subscription.
Yeah I’m not sure why they made it mandatory 🤷🏽♂️
Great review!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it
1500 dollar water heaters damn
Hahahaha - yeah it would be great if there were a few more companies doing this to drive prices down.
Thanks for the review, like this idea for a product but price is too high for me.
Yeah they are very expensive@@HighlanderRside
8 sleep required subscription is a terrible idea
Didn’t used to, now it does and it sucks.
Sleep monitoring sounds like marketing nonsense rather than engineering reality. For the money it looks like their playing the odds of finding enough suckers. I'd sooner go down to Home Depot and getting some ducting hooked up to a blower fan.
It’s not - it works. The autopilot has been awesome. Good luck with the blower fan
@@BrandonTalbot Thanks. Elon inspired me to be a innovator. In 2 years it will be the hottest father's day gift in the US.
"Brutally honest" 😂 those clickbait titles are out of control
I don’t think you understand what clickbait is.
@@BrandonTalbot I do. Have a brutally nice day 😜
AKA LOTS of free product. You KNOW HES GOING TO LOOOOOVE them. So stupid, youtube sucks for actual REAL reviews.
Did you watch the whole video?
Interviewed with 8 Sleep was more than qualified for the job even though it was low-paying. Made it through 9 interviews. Entire company was essentially CEO worship and as soon as I met with the CEI was clear he was not interested in me because of my weight. He kept stressing it was a fitness company and that someone would need to be a "representative" of that. Definitely would not recommend if you choose to spend your money with reputable people.
You say, "ai", a lot. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Cool.
@@RUclipsdarek Yeah if you're a Hot Sleeper it really is life changing.
