When it cools does it get to a point where you actually feel cooler or is just cooler then a normal bed. I guess I'm curious if I can actually get to the point of being chilly which is what I would love.

@@lovromedic2822 I would personally not agree. I can’t even feel it. Even on their more robust versions I haven’t felt it. That being said you could cover it with memory foam but you’re kind of rendering the cooling effect moot. Memory foam holds a tremendous amount of heat and if it’s more than a few millimeters thin you wouldn’t feel the cooling effect.

As a pod3 and now pod4 user, the pod4 is money. The tap to heat and cool is genius and I have found it super reliable. Before, I’d be cold or hot but not want to turn on my phone, so I’d just deal with it (usually awake for longer than I’d like). Now, I reach down, tap, and pass right out again. I really love the updates. (Also, yes, I am your wife, but I still would not lie for you. I LOVE this product, and it’s a huge upgrade from our old system.)
DO NOT BUY THE POD 4 if you were considering canceling your autopilot membership after the first year! I was seriously considering buying this system until I had a conversation with customer service. I asked them if filters for the pod 4 were free with autopilot membership. They confirmed yes they were and would automatically send you one ever 6 months. I then asked them what happens when you cancel your membership how much are the filters direct from them at that time. They came back and said they currently dont sell the filters with out an autopilot membership. Wait what??> A necessary maintenance item cant be purchased but you allow people to cancel their autopilot membership? Seems to me that someone in management has developed a way to ENSURE that people HAVE to keep their Pod 4 Autopilot membership always active because can you imagine how filthty and disgusting innards would be with contaminated water? Ill share the entire conversation I had with them if you want. just let me know. SUCH A SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE bordering on the ILLEGAL!

I’ve asked many many questions to several people on the eight sleep team from basic customer service people, my own contact that oversees partnerships and even the VP, and AT THAT TIME, no mention of this was ever given to me, after asking those people asking multiple times what comes with autopilot and what is no longer available after an autopilot is cancelled.
Maybe by the Pod 8, the company will figure out a very basic remote control that each party could leave on their nightstand. It's really not that complicated. The Bedjet (an inferior product) comes with two remote controls...and app control!
For me the cover changes seem like the best part. Seems like a cool upgrade. Not gonna upgrade as mine is a yer old but It's cool they are listening to feed back.
Sounds like you have a Purple mattress. I have the Pod 3 and I love it but it makes my Purple 4 less comfortable. Now this was worth it to me because of the temp control. Is the Pod 4 cover thin enough to allow the Purple to retain more of its comfort?

I don’t either on the subscription thing… that’s not true, it’s called reoccurring revenue, otherwise their ROI substantially decreases. The problem, which I’ve told them many many times, is it feels like a massive nickle and dime to their customer base. The unit itself is incredibly valuable if you value your health, but they need to do a better job of pricing, pricing structure and total value to a customer that’s paying the subscription on top of the premium price of the unit.

If you have back up power do you mean your wifi router, or do you mean internet access?? I can’t find this on their website - we have a split king and adjustable base already (Tempur-Pedic)…does pod 4’s (not ultra because we don’t need the base) new cover still flex enough to support an adjustable base and split 2 king mattress?
Unfortunately it won’t. You’d have to go with SleepMe’s DockPro, but I’d strongly suggest not investing with that company. They’ve got a pretty bad track record record of breaking at 4months and horrible customer service.
Hard to say with the Pod4 cause I’ve been sleeping with these systems for the last 5-6 years and I just won’t go back. Eight Sleep has data on their site from actual sleep studies. But I spent years being hot and uncomfortable taking hours to fall asleep and now I will zonk out within minutes.

Unfortunately, I purchased the Pod 3 and have had issues with it for the past 7 months. It doesn't work very well. It is a waste of money $2400 for a product that consistently doesn't work. I doubt the pod 4 will be any more reliable.
I was so mad when I got the email today about the Pod 4 because I bought the Pod 3 two months ago, and paid MORE $$. But this is the most comprehensive review that helped me understand the trade-offs. Unlike many reviewing the Queen/King versions, living in a small 500sq foot space, the trade offs for the Full are not worth it. Though it's 2x cooling (which is essential when it gets +30°C/86°F in my bedroom), the bigger unit takes too much space, and the touch pad realistically needs a small visual display to be of any value (like perhaps a small imbedded hybrid EightSleep dimmable alarm clock/remote control instead). No one wants to be blindingly tapping their bed half-asleep in the middle of the night.
The touch control works pretty well, and I get where they’re going with the haptics. They don’t want you to have to look at anything but it does need some refinement

Great questions, personally I do think the upgrade is worth it. The performance boost is so so nice. Plus it’s much quieter, the tap control is also great, and the new cover is awesome. I have seen very little difference in fit
Yeah I’m not sure on that one. Only time will tell. My dog is on the bed all the time sometimes sleeps on the the bed and I haven’t had any issues even with the pod2 but I know some have had leaks.

hey man - i've never had a 8 pod, but I did use the sleepme pro dock something. It cooled really quick and I liked it, but I sleep naked and my skin felt really uncomfortable against the cover because it felt like a fabric covered plastic bag in the sense that my skin couldn't breathe when laying on it. Do you sleep with clothes on? Have you or any of your viewers expressed this sensation? Is the 8 product better with this particular issue? Or does everyone just sleep with clothes on and I'm the only one lol

The taller and bigger Doc is NOT an improvement. Not everyone has a huge bedroom and for me there is NO place for me to put the unit that I will not trip over. Pod 3 is already to large to fit under the bed. The newly designed cover is definitely an improvement. Especially since there are many mattresses these days that still need to be rotated and taking the Pod 3 on and off multiple times a year is a pain in the ass. 8 Sleep still has not addressed the REQUIRED APP SUBSCRIPTION. That is a BIG issue and I cannot afford the additional monthly subscription fee. It should be OPTIONAL. 8 Sleep should consider making a BASIC, No Frills, Non-high Tech Quality Sleep solution. I think they would sell a lot since not EVERYONE wants or needs all those high tech features. Since SleepMe has shitty service and support, and 8 Sleep is far to expensive and large, this leaves me withOUT any cooling solution. So very SAD!!!

I was given the product they did not pay me for this video. As stated in the video. Yes it’s expensive, and yes they’ve continued to offer less value to their customers. But we’ve actually lessened our power bill in the summer.

Unfortunately no. Both sides move together That’s a limitation of most adjustable bed frames,and because the cover isn’t split into two sections.

Manual temperature adjustments. That’s what you can control if you don’t have a subscription.

No worries, we already had one when we purchased our purple mattress. A purple brand one. So it didn’t really make sense to get the ultra one.

As someone who’s owned the chili pad, Ooler and like 3 dock pros, hey if it doesn’t break on you go for it.
Overly complex. WAY too expensive. Should have a temp. display. ON/OFF, Temp. Up and Down. That's it. NO SUBSCRIPTION EVER.
There are models like that, this is not one of them.

The taller and bigger Doc is NOT an improvement. Not everyone has a huge bedroom and for me there is NO place for me to put the unit that I will not trip over. Pod 3 is already to large to fit under the bed. The newly designed cover is definitely an improvement. Especially since there are many mattresses these days that still need to be rotated and taking the Pod 3 on and off multiple times a year is a pain in the ass. 8 Sleep still has not addressed the REQUIRED APP SUBSCRIPTION. That is a BIG issue and I cannot afford the additional monthly subscription fee. It should be OPTIONAL. 8 Sleep should consider making a BASIC, No Frills, Non-high Tech Quality Sleep solution. I think they would sell a lot since not EVERYONE wants or needs all those high tech features. Since SleepMe has shitty service and support, and 8 Sleep is far to expensive and large, this leaves me withOUT any cooling solution. So very SAD!!!
It is an improvement because it improves so many other important components.True it doesn’t work for you but FYI you shouldn’t be laying your dock pro on its side (if that’s what you’re doing).

Yes it’s expensive, and yes they’ve continued to offer less value to their customers. But we’ve actually lessened our power bill in the summer.
