Agree. And also, don't reward these companies that are ruining our country because they are slowly taking away the option to own anything and instead renting it to us.
I can't believe they're making beds require a subscription now-NO THANK YOU. What a bunch of jerks 8-Sleep must be-money-grabbers. It's so unnecessary for a bed that already costs more than the others. I hope this company miserably fails. The influencer model is getting boring, and if something has an 'influencer' peddling it, I already know it's a garbage product, only paying the most to whoever says it's awesome. The internet is broken.
Big nope on the subscription from me. Easily doubling the already pricy cost over the lifetime of the product. Plus if they ever go out of business then say bye to all the features.
@@RichardKohbergerappreciate such an honest review my dude!! I wanted one til the subscription service 🥲🥲🥲 please do a whole vid about how subscription services are ruining the world and why tffff they exist lmaoooo.. no but really.. I’d love to see tht vid 🤣
Those are the reasons we bought the Dock Pro. It has an app that controls the temp, but there are also manual buttons on the device to control temp. So if the company goes under, which they almost did a year ago, you can still control the device. That being said. The Dock Pro has its issues too.
They really would make more money if they just changed the price of mattress from 2500 to 3000. And no subscription. That would cover almost 3 years of their monthly revenue. And they would sell more because very few people want to deal with a subscription to a product they already own.
I looked into getting one of these, but then noped out when I saw the subscription. As soon as I saw this video’s title, I knew what the infuriating part was.
If i buy this product for $2100 and live for another 45 years it will cost me $10,200. I'm still waiting for objective data that this actually helps you get better sleep. So far there's 0 evidence it does. No thanks.
Everyone is differnt i know people who literally cant sleep if its to warm or to cold. Personally i feel you could achieve the same affect for a lot cheaper by just cooling or heating your room. Definitely dont need to drop 2.5k and a subscription to achieve that.
On the data side, you can measure your sleep quality with any fitness tracker for 21 days, then get this thing and measure another 21 days with it and see if it makes a difference for you. There is 30-day return policy. But fully agreed with the sub model.
going down through the comment section already shows how people are willing to pay for such an expensive product yet everyone simply backs out after that subscription model. I was excited to get one of these but it's just offensive. subscription makes this product really variable in the long run. they can increase the prices after purchase and all these features could also be taken away from you if they decide to change the ToS. idk man. just wonder how many of these they aren't selling cause of that sub.
Something fair to justify the subscription would be to make a huge drop to the matress cover price. That way you get as many people as possible into your ecosystem and have them use the subscription model. But paying almost 3k in order to even have the product and then paying them monthly that is simply a robbery
My roommate has one of these and swears by it. It sounded great and I was really interested, especially since my room is upstairs and in the summer it can get very hot, even with register fans and a ceiling fan. Shortly after he purchased it, they instituted the membership and there's now no chance I'd ever consider one. I'm not paying a subscription for my bed.
I mean if it gives you even 10% more energy each day for the $280 a year over a 5 year lifespan of the product? That seems pretty worth it to me lol. Poverty mindset dude. $280 is pennies Use the extra energy to just creat a company with this same product with no subscription

This would be great for renters or areas with insane summers to keep electricity costs down. I know as a renter, window AC units just can't out pace the summer heat. Good tech, I will wait until another company come out without a subscription
i was seriously thinking about get one. but that subscription... no thanks
The only reason I’m not getting this is the subscription model.
Sounds like a scam to me… big no no with the subscription 😬
Would never ever support this product due to the subscribtion
Basically buying another mattress I don’t understand
Bruh i got an eight sleep ad before the video and i legitr though it was the video
Well damn, I was sold on this thing until you got to the subscription.
Subscription is a deal breaker. I would boycott.
How is there not a solid alternative by now without a subscription??!!
