I heard about this from a sleep clinic, they didn’t outright recommend it, but they told me that it existed because I was asking what can help people with early waking from being too hot. I was disheartened to see the price tag though, and didn’t buy it. After another hot summer of poor sleep though, I finally broke down and bought it. I was incredulous that it would help, but it actually keeps me cool through the night. I don’t use the coldest setting, but still have started sleeping with a thick cotton t-shirt on as the pad absorbs body heat extremely well. If you can afford it and can’t sleep because of getting too hot, I highly recommend it. I got the half bed model as my wife doesn’t have my problem.
I've been dying to get a Chili pad. I just haven't had the money. I love that they have a we setting. And the straps to get rid of slipping is a bonus.

Bought a ChiliPad in March 2021. I returned it twice last year because it sounded like a jet taking off (of course they wanted proof of this, so I had to grab my phone in the middle of the night to record it).. Then in May (2022), the pump stopped. It took me a week to receive a return label. Another for it to be delivered to them. And they've had it for 4-weeks. I've become so accustomed to sleeping cool that I looked at other options. I bought a BedJet and I absolutely love it! Didn't know if I would because I was accustomed to the cooling feeling coming up from under me. But the BedJet is so much better! It's whisper quiet. It doesn't stop working in the middle of the night because it needs water and you can also set up various Biorhythms. Wish I would have invested in the BedJet first. BTW..I purchased a ChiliPad for another family member and now that one is squealing through the night too! Save yourself the headaches and get a BedJet!
Omg this is amazing!! I would love to have this to control the temperature of my bed! I am always either too hot or cold! I like how it stays in place and fits under a regular sheet!
I HAVE TO HAVE THIS.. I LOVE IT, I love that it works to keep you cool or warm and I also really like that it looks comfy unlike some heating pads you can buy for your bed where you can feel the wires through your sheets. Its a little bulky looking but I think I can live with that or come up with something like putting a bench over them..this is a winner for me. thanks for the reviews.
Our daughter got a new bed, so we inherited their ChiliPad. Gotta say, it's a game changer. I like it warm, but don't like anything electronic within a foot of my body. My husband likes it cool, at least later on in our sleep cycles. He can start warm and cool it later. All the electrical stuff is on the floor-away from us. Have used it about a year and a half, and hate to not have it when we travel.
The ChiliPad Cube looks interesting. Michigan has some cold winter nights/hot summer nights and this could really help out in regards to that. I am glad that you stressed it was actually only one cube and not the two that you had. When I first saw the visual, I thought that takes up a lot of room space, but one wouldn't be that bad.
ok with summer coming here in Vegas really soon I definitely need to try out this blanket, love how easily I can change the temp with the remotes thank you for this review!
Great review! I am curious to know if you are using a moderate cool setting at night (say 65 degrees) how often are you refilling the distilled water? I dont want to be a slave to adding water daily to stay cool. Thx!!!
If you have the Chilipad temperature set on low which is 55 degrees Fahrenheit does laying on it lose its cool temperature from your body heat will it go up like 58 degrees or 60 degrees or will it over work to keep it at 55 degrees from heat around it
I'm very sensitive to any noise, so my plan is to cool it down to 55° before getting into bed, then switching it off. How long will the pad stay relatively cool after switching off?
This seems like cool product( pun intended). Anything that helps keeps me cool at night gets my full attention. I like that it comes with 2 remotes to make it that much more simple to uses. I like that you can get it to any temperature you desire. Its kind of too expensive though
This is a cool type of sleep technology and being a hot sleeper it may be worth me trying it out. I like the idea of the water cooling the bed down over a bed jet blowing air. Great review Sarah thanks for all of the details
This is a great idea...the dual cool or warm is awesome. The unit it self looks bulky. I don't have a space to hide it and really don't want to have it outside visible to the eyes.
I was able to get a Purple 4. It has made a positive difference. Do you think this pad will effect the comfort? I’m a hot sleeper and the most annoying part is my head on top of the pillow. Clearly the top of the pillow is not in contact, but do you think that heat will be mitigated indirectly with the chill pad. The other option I’m considering is a portable AC venting out a window. I may do both. Is winter now but when the summer heat comes I want to be ready. Thoughts? Other solutions?
Hi and thank you , my king size unit came with with batteries for both remotes and it also came with the Velcro straps to tie up the tubes when you need to wash the the mesh , we are use to and electric heating blanket and I feel like this unit gets nowhere near as hot as my $89 sleeping blanket i’ve been using for the last three years Maybe more . the one thing I don’t know is come summer If will like the cooling side of it that will outweigh the unit not getting as hot as a electric sleeping blanket I guess for over 1,000 you would expected to get really hot too lol Anyway thanks for your time that was a great introductory and review
After one year ChiliPad in my son's room still going strong. Very quiet when on. Make you treat/change the distilled water from time to time. The company has a product to add to the water on their website. All good.
How does the pad impact mattress feel? I just purchased a purple mattress to help relieve pressure points etc since I'm a side-sleeper. I'm hoping its temp-neutral design will help me keep cool too, but if not I may purchase a Chili pad, but I wouldn't want something to interfere with the mattress features.
I know a lot of these youtube reviews show the cube at the foot of the bed, but usually the promotional ones show it at the head of the bed in a nice nightstand situation or something? Is it possible to move it to the head of the bed?
I suppose you could, but the cube is at the foot of the bed in this review so that it can have the tubes running into the mattress topper and not be near your head. May be a little uncomfortable to have them near the head of the bed.
Well how cool is this?!! Looks a tich cumbersome but I love, love, love being able to control the temp of my bed. I want to add how perfect it is that each person can control the temp. on their side of the bed. My hubby and I are always different in terms of comfortable sleep temps.
I don't know if you'll see this message cause this video is 3 years old but I just got my chili pad can you put a mattress protector on top of it versus then your fitted cheat or is that too much
Wow! I am really loving the idea of controlling the temperature of my bed even on the side. Me and my husband both need different temperature to sleep on. Chilipad looks perfect for us.
Wow this is pretty awesome, seems easy enough to set up and use, unfortunately wth my kids being so young they'd probably want to play with everything, I do really like this
I need this! Our bedroom is in the attic in an old house with no central air! Winters are cold and summers are very hot up here. But the price is unfortunately way too much. Buying this wouldnt happen anytime soon.
"WE" option is certainly better for us since my husband's preferred temperature is way too cold for me. ;) It may take a few days for me to get used to their "noise". I would love this but I'm curious how much my electricity bill would go up, especially in hot summer. BTW, thank you for experimenting with setting up the coldest for the one side and the warmest tempt for the other. Very helpful to understand the effectiveness!
O my that go on any mattress? Isn't it just a fancy mattress pad though? Lol i love it! So it is like a water mattress pad? Can u use it as a heated blanket?
Hey Sam -- The Chilipad comes in a variety of sizes, ranging from Full to California King (just pick the one that matches the size of your mattress). And, I suppose it is like a fancy mattress pad in a sense, lol. The network of microtubing throughout the pad allows water to either heat or cool the surface of your mattress. But remember - it does go directly on top of your mattress, beneath the rest of your bedding. So, no, it can't be used as a blanket (though it does kind of feel like an electric blanket when you crank the temperature up!).
I'm kind of lukewarm (pun unintended) on this. I think our bodies, though fairly predictable, still throws us curves from time to time. Just because you finally get it set to the right temp today, doesn't mean it will be the same tomorrow. I prefer to fall into my bed and ready to settle down. I don't care to be bothered laying there adjusting a temp setting until happy. I find if I keep my room temp the same, I have fewer issues with overheating or getting cold. And the noise would definitely be a problem.
How comfortable is this chilipad? I am looking at spending a fair amount of money on a tempurpedic mattress and do not want to sacrifice the comfort of the mattress.
Hey William! The chilipad is a thin layer of material that goes right beneath your fitted sheet. So, for me, I didn't really feel it at all. Especially with a high quality mattress like Tempur-Pedic, I doubt you'd be sacrificing its comfort!
I think this is probably too expensive for me, but I like the water circulation vs. the air circulation on the BedJet, I don't think I could sleep on inflated fabric!
Hiya! Looks like the Chilipad uses 170 watts of power. Based on the national average of $0.23/kWh it looks like it would cost around $0.32 to run for 8 hours a night. Doesn't seem too bad, right?
Complete garbage and the company is so terrible. Save yourself $1600 and buy the sleep eight add to your own mattress. In the morning it literally feels like you peed the pad from the condensation and doesn’t get cold. Worse product ever it should be like $200. Guys please don’t make the same mistake I did. Only good thing is it does get hot. But who buys a cooling pad for more heat?
I agree first one they sent me was broken from the valves and took a month to get, the second one looks like it was refurbished I'm going to sent it back.
They just dont work, no matter the hype. You body emits more BTUs in heat than the chili pad has for cooling. Thats just a fact. I could give you all the engineer speak. Like how much cooling the chili pad actually has, how much heat you emit, convert it all in BTUs. I measure temperature of water in, temp of water coming out, how much water actually moves through the unit, etc. I wanted mine to work. I needed it as a hot sleeper. I tried it, I sent it back. I wound up getting a Bed Jet instead. I still have it and love it.
So the chili pad makes noise... If only you were making some kind of a video where you could have let us hear that.. maybe one day we'll have that technology
Wish it wasn’t so ugly to look at. My bedroom is beautiful, restful and minimal. Unfortunately this looks like equipment for a hospital bed... not terribly sexy - glad there’s a good return policy!
Thanks for information about this product. However; I lost all interest in purchasing the product after watching multiple advertising ad's the same information being repeated redundant & very annoying! 10 min complete waste of time...
This thing is a piece of garbage and the companies customer service is utter atrocious. Within my second year the pad hose started to leak profusely. When I contacted customer care I was told I would have to replace the entire pad. That costs $450. After paying over $600 for this piece of garbage less than 2 years ago I now have to pay over $450 to use it or it is now just a $600 paper weight less than 2 years after purchasing it. I have never paid so much for something so poorly made with such absolute horrible customer support in my life. This company is garbage.

I've been looking at these chilipads, they're so dreamy and sound amazing. I would love to stay cool at night. Wow impressive.
What a thorough, competent review! Thanks.
Great review...thanks for the information!
You are amazing. Helped me realized I want this over bedjet

Wow this is pretty neat! No idea about this kind of tech sleep things without you guys. I like the dual temperature!

I could see this being great in the middle of summer when you could set it to a cool setting.
Our daughter got a new bed, so we inherited their ChiliPad. Gotta say, it's a game changer. I like it warm, but don't like anything electronic within a foot of my body. Interesting product! Never heard of this before---I generally don't sleep hot, but I could see this as being useful for someone who does.
I can see this being useful to people who are always cold or always hot.
ok with summer coming here in Vegas really soon I definitely need to try out this blanket, love how easily I can change the temp with the remotes thank you for this review!
On the cool setting did you feel like you could sleep without ac?
Great review! I am curious to know if you are using a moderate cool setting at night (say 65 degrees) how often are you refilling the distilled water? I dont want to be a slave to adding water daily to stay cool. Thx!!!
Do you know if its okay to use it on an adjustable bed frame?
If you have the Chilipad temperature set on low which is 55 degrees Fahrenheit does laying on it lose its cool temperature from your body heat will it go up like 58 degrees or 60 degrees or will it over work to keep it at 55 degrees from heat around it
I'm very sensitive to any noise, so my plan is to cool it down to 55° before getting into bed, then switching it off. How long will the pad stay relatively cool after switching off?
Can you use purified water as a substitute for distilled water?
This looks very interesting, first time seeing this product. This would be great for our hot summers.
How sturdy are the tubes? Will a pet's claws cause them to spring leaks?
This is such a neat idea! I would have never looked into this without you guys!
I've been interested in Chili Pad. Thanks for the review! This is definitely great if you have trouble with your temperature while sleeping.
This is a great idea...the dual cool or warm is awesome. The unit it self looks bulky. I don't have a space to hide it and really don't want to have it outside visible to the eyes.

I may do both.
Is winter now but when the summer heat comes I want to be ready.
Thoughts? Other solutions?
does this actually chill the water? or is the coldest water temp just room temp?
I feel the micro tubes. So far it is not cushy and is uncomfortable. Am I just too sensitive and will I eventually adjust?
Oh man, being able to control the temp sounds awesome!!!!! I'd go for around 60F
Which one the bedjet or the chilipad would you say works best for a hot sleeper?
I really like this cooling pad plus remotes. It seems like a perfect solution for hot sleepers like me. Great review!
I got two units is I have a split bed with him at different times one was 150 watts one was 170 what ,which is the newer one?
After one year ChiliPad in my son's room still going strong. Very quiet when on. Make you treat/change the distilled water from time to time. The company has a product to add to the water on their website. All good.

🤔 this is so cool ❄
I may have to consider this for my husband. He likes to sleep super cool!

I really like this idea. I love to sleep cool :) I like the dual control version. Great information for sure!
I don't know if you'll see this message cause this video is 3 years old but I just got my chili pad can you put a mattress protector on top of it versus then your fitted cheat or is that too much
Love how you can adjust the temps on both sides! Pretty neat. But I feel the noise would bother me at night😐

This is super cool! Literally! Hahaha I would love to use this with my husband!
You just had to say it.
Just ordered mine!
I love the idea of controlling the temperature of my bed, but the size of the units would be a factor for me, but it seems pretty awesome.
I love sleeping cold but probably out of my budget. I have a buddy duvet cover and a silk duvet insert that keeps me happy.
Does she mention how it feels? Does it feel plastic or like a waterbed or anything different from a regular mattress pad?
I need this! Our bedroom is in the attic in an old house with no central air! Winters are cold and summers are very hot up here. But the price is unfortunately way too much. Buying this wouldnt happen anytime soon.

Sach S the chilliest used about 50 dollars a year in electricity
wow what an eyebrow raiser. This would be game changing for the summer.
This is great for the hot sleeper!
How interesting. I get night sweats on occasion so this might be just what I need!
O my that go on any mattress? Isn't it just a fancy mattress pad though? Lol i love it! So it is like a water mattress pad? Can u use it as a heated blanket?

Sounds nice during the summer, I'd probably keep it between 55-60F. Can't imagine who would want to have it at 115 outside of those who are ill.
my question is can this be used inside a mini van while I sleep overnight?
and can I power it with a battery bank?? tnx
the control unit produces heat. not good for a camper/RV IMO
How comfortable is this chilipad? I am looking at spending a fair amount of money on a tempurpedic mattress and do not want to sacrifice the comfort of the mattress.

I love mine. I set it to 64 or 65 degrees every night and I sleep much better.
Very neat
How safe is this?
It's very safe, what worried you about it?
Go SARA!
A bit pricey but would love one
How much electricity does this use while running for 8 hours 😢
Hiya! Looks like the Chilipad uses 170 watts of power. Based on the national average of $0.23/kWh it looks like it would cost around $0.32 to run for 8 hours a night. Doesn't seem too bad, right?
@@Sleepopolis not bad considering my cost is .12, far below the national average. Thank you!
I love the technology of the Chilipad, but not sure I like that huge piece of equipment.
Shame there’s no app or feature that allows you to set it automatically
Buy the newer Ooler
Complete garbage and the company is so terrible. Save yourself $1600 and buy the sleep eight add to your own mattress. Does is make sex uncomfortable? if you're too rough, can you break the Chilipad?
Sounds like it could be good other than thee "price" point. I thank thee for all...
chilli pad cube vs dock pro
In not sure if the sound would be soothing or annoying!
So the chili pad makes noise... If only you were making some kind of a video where you could have let us hear that.. maybe one day we'll have that technology

That’s not the Authors fault. I pay for RUclips Premium. No add. You don’t pay- so you get adds. The author does not control the adds.
doesn't come with distilled water lol....wow
Get a generic one on Ebay. Save $1,000 +
This is really "cool" 😀
I see what you did there
This thing is a piece of garbage and the companies customer service is utter atrocious. Within my second year the pad hose started to leak profusely. Was awesome for 2 nights then stopped working. Hard to recommend.
Did something break?
As interesting as this product is, I think it’s too high tech for me lolol
