S2:E23 An Amazing Secret Place Outside Rome, Ostia Antica

We leave the Amalfi Coast in Italy driving past cities built into the side of the cliffs with beautiful sea views and beaches on our way to Rome. We discover the amazing, underrated hamlet of Ostia Antica, a walled village with a castle that is the penultimate of Renaissance Military Design.
In the 32nd episode, our exploration of Italy sees us exiting the Amalfi region. We leave Positano and complete our drive down to the Amalfi Coast passing through Praiano, Amalfi, Minori, Maiori, Erchie and Cetara on our way to Salerno. We make brief stops to see the scenery, but we're hampered by the bad weather.
We make a brief stop in Cassino and see the Abbey at MonteCassino and then continue on to Ostia Antica.
We check in to an amazing hotel, La Casa nel Castello, and we are amazed at all that was included in the villa. We have a great time walking the cobblestoned streets of the hamlet and we explore the Castello di Giullio and the Cattedrale di Sant'Aurea.
This village is very surprising indeed, and the best part is that it is only a 10-minute drive from Fiumicino International Airport (FCO). If you are looking for a hotel near Fiumicino Airport then you should seriously consider staying here.
