If you listen carefully you will hear the greatest compliment BTBRV can give. The unit was not merely nice. It was *absolutely*......nice.
I wish you could have shown more of what's inside. It's a beautiful rig. Probably larger than some homes.
Simply search the model here on youtube. The RV Hunter youtube channel did a very thorough walk thru of this “man cave” floor plan a while back.
I'm so disappointed you didn't show more of the kitchen and dining/work space!
This is so perfect. Love the colors. And the drop down bunk is awesome. Definitely a dream coach
That was nice! But I didn't like that strap thing hanging down. Is it always like that or did it not retract correctly. I'll have to back a rewatch
Great floor plan. Finally an RV that would be great for any weather while away with a family. Plenty of quiet area for kids to sleep and large family room for raint days
Wow! That’s a beautiful rig. I wish they would not put vents in the floor, it came with a generator and a larger inverter and solar, but otherwise, for me, this is a perfect unit!
JD you need RiverStone as a sponsor so we can see how your new half ton truck will pull it 😂😂. As well as your F450
We just brought this exact unit up into canada for a dealership in spruce grove..dec.13th lol
This unit pulls so well!! It’s -15 in canada & it was very icy. This unit was A DREAM TO PULL! The hitch has aN AIRBAG!!! The garage doors are so solid & were super durable!! Everything about this unit is so top end! The 3 air conditioners are sleek! Modern! & streamline. We knew it was a top end with the cam lock septic lines !!!
This unit is amazing !!! Simply beautiful!!!
This is one of my favorites !!! They have 3 floor plans with either front, mid or rear kitchens all amazing !!!
Beautiful. Not sure I'd want to tow this frequently but, for extended stays it's definitely doable.
LOL, I hear ya!! Stay Strong!!
Ouch. You'd probably need an International Sportsman pickup or a Chevy 454. I never understood why GM never offered medium block V10 engines. It would help. They don't have to be the size of an International semi. A 7.0 liter V10 would produce pleeeeenty of torque.
JD! I have a story for you about this unit the 442MC and the weight of this very unit (in fact I'm thinking it may actually be the one I ordered that went back to the factory). I am currently working with an attorney to get my "non-refundable" money back from the selling dealer. I questioned the dealer at order about the CCC. It came up because I separately ordered a $30K Lithium/Solar/Inverter install what was going to potentially add 900lbs to the rig. I was told it was going to be 2800lbs (not great, but ok). I actually learned from you a long long long time ago from your early videos to read those yellow and white stickers on the units. When my unit arrived it had a dry weight of 19832, a CCC of 1092 lbs with GVWR of 21000 riding on three Morryde 7K IS suspension components. I argued that 1K CCC is effectively ZERO because as you know, you can't put ANYTHING in the rig (and not be overweight) and so Riverstone factory got involved. They came back to say that they were going to change the pin box to a 24K Morryde and re-rate the GVWR to 24K. Honestly I was troubled by a few things: 1) I don't fully appreciate/understand how a trailer frame can go from 21K max to 24K max and no other engineering be involved. This does not instill confidence. 2) At a dry weight of 19.8K (published weight is 19131 for the 442MC) and 21K axles, a lot of weight needs to be carried by the tow vehicle to make the combination 'work'. I'm of the perspective that it's not safe and question the road legality of it since one would immediately be over the ratings of the axles as soon as you put batteries, propane, and water in the unit, much less anything else. 3) If we use the 'Brookstone' guidance calculation of roughly 20% of GVWR is on the hitch when using the under-rated axles, 4800 lbs is what could potentially be on the hitch, and I don't think there is a dually out there that can have that much weight in the bed along with a full tank or tanks of fuel, fluids, passengers and cargo. This is totally HDT territory. In the other video the riverstone guy said pin weight was 3500 lbs I think...if that was the case, then 1300 lbs would be carried by the axles and it would totally be well above axle ratings. 4) Luxe and DRV put triple 8K axles on their units for this very reason of the weight transfer.
JD it seems in the two Riverstone videos that you were tip-toeing when talking to Nick about the weights. What was your perspective of the weights?
NOW THATS A FIFTH WHEEL I WOULD WOULD INVEST IN!!!
This unit is also a great model for a full-time RV lifestyle. It's nice to see that Forest River made a change to put 2" tube steel on their back bike hitch instead of the 1.5" tube steel we have on our 2020 Riverstone Legacy 38RE hitch. I've seen this model in other RUclips videos, but, along with the Forest River Rep, you've added the extra details necessary to demonstrate that this is a very well-built fifth wheel. Another thing that wasn't mentioned is that the extra bed in the MC is actually attached to a vertical rail so that the bed won't wobble on the flexible strap when someone's getting into/out of or sleeping on it. 24K, WOW. That would be at the upper safety end of using a 25K FW hitch to tow it with.
How ya feeling wild man?? Hope all is well!!! As always awesome video!
A beautiful rv. Amazing how many things the Northwoods Arctic Fox line has in common with the Riverstone. Of course it still doesn’t compare. Love the hidden bunk. Absolutely amazing floor plan.
That’s a sweet layout, I like the separation as opposed to just seeing everything at once.
That's the first thing I noticed. I'm not an open layout type of person. That's why I always liked front/rear living room layouts. When I'm in the kitchen, I don't want to be bothered so I like it being separated. This layout is two separate rooms, and I love it!!
I absolutely love this layout!
Great unit and review. Don't see something new very often but the bunk was unique. JD this weight is serious. Although my Ram 3500 DRW can pull this you have also taught us that it is not your actual weight that state laws look at but the combined GVWR of the truck and trailer. My truck's 14k and this 24k puts it in an area that some states would require an upgraded driver's license.
Beautiful build for sure. My Only concern (and if you can address that, it would be great). Hydraulic slides are preferred for sure, BUT if there is a failure there is no way to close the slide. We have had that happen twice on our Class A Diesel with hydraulic slides. If you are in the middle of no where, no one can come repair the slide. Personally I think all manufacturers should have a failsafe means to retract slides in case of a failure. Even if you have to hand crank it manually. But this is a gorgeous rig very well done. On my short list.
I personally am not a big fan of the drop-down bed, simply because it seems to be on straps. That seems like it would probably swing back and forth as you’re trying to get in. Maybe it would swing around every time I turned over as well.
I saw a Spacecraft customized model that had the whole bedroom in a toy hauler drop down. Then they covered the sliding area with magnetic columns and covered the ramp door with a big nice magnetic cushioned headboard. It was very sturdy and spectacular. It also had a full bath, dresser with telescoping TV and a desk. It was big enough to transport a Volvo SUV, but they were working with, I believe, a 57' semi frame, so quite the difference.
This one is on rails not just straps
I want this rig!! It's the one in my dreams! Thanks for all the great info and giving me stuff dreams are made of.
i hope your feeling better!
I’m a woman full time Rv’r, I would have liked to see more of the kitchen and the closet in the bedroom. I’m always interested in storage inside, you didn’t touch on any of that.
I have to admit that the guy doing this video made the other guy look like he didn't know anything or that he just didn't feel like talking, so thank you to the gentlemen who was doing the interview, great job!
We need more man cave RV's. I got a Cedar Creek literally because it had an office in it.
I’m looking at this model right now to relocate and retire to Florida with.
The one thing I noticed, correct me if I’m wrong, I don’t think you can get the moreride slide out for your storage compartment because it’s not straight
Nice trailer. The production models are really improved with their standard offerings. We built a custom trailer to meet our needs as fulltimers.
Beautiful fifth wheel. Would be a great match for one of the new upcoming 2023 King Ranch F-450's, or whatever trim package you want!
I just started in the industry and it's crazy to hear "out of Hershey" because I worked that show
gorgeous rv
It’s really interesting and has a lot to offer for people who are either living in their motorhome or staying for long periods of time. It’s not just a hop in and go in my opinion. It’s designed for longer stays and fully equipped for more than two people.
I have no idea how much it would cost to buy but it’s certainly appealing for living in.
If you need to buy a truck for towing this would be a non starter for me.
Great video 💫
Monthly payment and maintenance costs may be pretty high on something like this. But, if we sell our regular homes minus property tax and maintenance, it is definitely cheaper to live on this RV. This reminds me of the toy. Minimum asset of the family who gets this type of RV should me 40m or higher in my opinion.
I love the 1/2 ton gag at the end! 😂
So sick !!
Good thing you knew about this RV ~ the salesman didn’t know anything
Awesome
wow!
Love your channel, thanks for all the great info. We just bought our horse for towing a couple months ago, we are going to be shopping for a 5th wheel in the spring. I was wondering if you do any consulting with people in person to help guide people through finding the right RV for them. We are in Texas and willing to travel to meet you at a dealership if you do. Thanks, Matt
GREAT VIDEO ,
THANK YOU.
1/2 LOL.😂😂
We looked at the MC earlier this year. At the time it had the smallest basement storage and lowest Cargo Capacity of all the Riverstone Plans. Nice to hear they are upping the capacity - but looks like it still has a smallish basement storage. Hope that changes when they make the GVRW improvement.
The storage is actually very big underneath very tall
Hey JD have you ever tried to look at the lux brand I know they're not sold through dealerships they're factory direct but I live in the Tampa Bay area and whenever the big Florida rv show starts they are always within several miles of the show they have their own area and they usually bring down about 6 units Would love to see a review
haha its a nice show, the biggest rv show in the world. the only thing my hometown is good for is making rvs:) let me know if you're still in elkhart, i'll head out to the show
Nice review keep up the good work what's the asking price
Hope you are feeling well.
My 2009 carriage cameo 35sb3 is built very well great quality compared to most
I like it...
I would really like you to go thru this again without the help … your normal format of how you start and finish a review is one of the things I like about your channel. Thank you for your hard work
When will they upgrade those cheap marker lights, I do like the mid ship turn signal, now follow it through to the whole trailer
Beautiful rig. Will the slides leak like my current Forest River? At this point I don’t trust FR enough to buy one.
there is a washroom in the mancave i noticed that was not shown
They r just incredible!! Do they sell or rent !? Or is it a tourism?
Six slides!!
Wow... Just... Wow.... :O
But half ton towable right? lol (sarcasm) XD
Beautiful! What is the upper deck height?
Wow that's very beautiful but my question is they want to make it like a home in a home when you get to somebody's house do you walk right through the kitchen why don't they have it till you walk right into the front room
Yes this is it no more looking .now i need. Too find that money tree
Does this compete with a Jayco Pinnacle or DRV?
I hope you did the toy hauler too?
Can this be optioned with a full bathroom in the den area? That would be my teenage son's bedroom, and he needs his privacy and his own full bath. I don't know how some families share one bathroom when they are used to having 4 or 5 in their home. Also, I would not want a side-by-side refrigerator but rather a French door residential with freezer on the bottom. I hate side-by-side friges because they can't hold a pizza or a sheet birthday cake.
Just bought a 2022 Riverstone 42FSKG. It was delivered to my property in Oklahoma two weeks ago. I’m driving there to see it for the first time this weekend. Next up, a big truck.
my next trailer
Are there any links for this and other Legacy models?
Looked like the belt or something come loose on the drop down bunk if you look to the left when the bunk is raised back up. Or it's not hidden very well
That's a power cable.
Love this. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on Riverstone v Beacon v Redwood. We are about 6-9 months out from buying and these are the top contenders. We will be Full Timers. Going to hit the Austin Expo and hoping to walk through our first Riverstone there in a week or so.
I have looked thru all 3 pretty heavily and in my opinion the Riverstone is a step above the Redwood and Beacon from a construction standpoint. Its the little things like all hardwood vs laminated MDF in places like the trim and cabinet boxes and the quality of the other finishes and as mentioned the stuff you don't see. Riverstone is more in the DRV territory....
Riverstone was one of our top contenders as well but in the end it all came down to layout. Since we need a toyhauler we were looking at the 42fskg but in the end we were not super fond of the bedroom or the garage space. I loved the outside storage but the interior is more important to us. We need space for 2 people to work and without a normal garage that was going to be hard in this model. We chose the DRV JX450, It had the best combo of layout along with construction we found without having to go to a NH or Luxe. The plan is to make the garage into an office for 2 when the motorcycles are out.
If we didn't need a toyhauler for motorcycles the Riverstone 39RKFB would have been the one.
Curious to see what JD thinks as well.
@@TDub_ADV thanks for insight. A DRV is #4 on the list. The 39rkfb and the 391FSK are contenders for us. Need a desk as I will be working. We don’t have toys so don’t need a toy hauler per say. We do have 2 Labs and a cat tho.
@@Atxjrdguy 3 inch walls is hard to beat. Neither of the other 2 can match that. The Riverstones are so heavy though. It's good as it's because of their construction. Bad because they are a lot to handle.
We have a Riverstone Legacy 39RBFL it is absolutely the best fifth wheel we could find
@@Atxjrdguy We actually bought a 2022 Riverstone Legacy 39RKFB about a month ago and absolutely love it!! We wanted an RV with a desk and they are hard to find in higher-end fifth wheels. The construction is amazing and pulls like a dream and stops like a champ with the disc brakes. I highly recommend one.
Lippert frame??? 15k or 13.5k air conditioners???
No door to cover that washer & dryer?
What kind of insulation is in the walls ???
What is the weight limit on the new “lowerator bed”?
500lbs
in Florida, people had these and could not evacuate quick enough. Too big
What is the subfloor?
Please in future show more of the interiors rather than so much of exterior. Thank you.
I wish you said something about that awkward vent in the floor of the bathroom. Looks like it’s in a very bad spot.
I agree with you. It’s either badly designed or in the wrong place.
Hope you're doing well, brother
Was that a 1/2 bath in the living?
The doorway to the living room looks a little tight but good unit
Is this RV built to withstand hurricane force winds?
Where is the wet bay?
Nice, but for me it's too much white (especially if you have kids/pets) it looks clinical. I'm an earthquake tone girl, to see some of the outside gray or navy stains on the inside would be awesome.
I do not like the vent on the floor in the bathroom
How much I want one
You can tow anything with a Ranger JD because it's a Ford F****n Ranger 😂
Would have liked a bit more on weight and length.
I hope forestriver has fixed some of their quality issues. If the same people built that as my XLR you are going to have an electrical nightmare
I think a Ford Maverick would haul that no problem😂😂😂
Maybe you could lash together eight Mavericks, like Santa Claus 🎅🏽
Half ton towable 🤣 as long as its properly equipped.
To bad it depreciates as soon as you leave the lot with it.
Yup. By THOUSANDS
Buy it at end of year after it depreciates
This model looks high end with the living room fold out couch as a great idea but not a fan of the ceiling bed. I would not want to be sleeping with wires ran for lights right below where I am sleeping. I also would not rest easy knowing that only straps are holding me up.
I am in this "high end" model but am sleeping in a laundromat ? No way do I want the laundry smells right next to my bed and I couldn't do any laundry if someone was sleeping.
Bigger than my house
Does this guy have eye shadow on 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Prefer you doing the walk through’s….the reps slow it down and make it clunky.
Retirement home
Wish he let Rep. Talk more
This RESTROOM DOES DISAPPOINT!! Yes it does! NOT A SHOWER PERSON, WHERES THE DAMN BATHTUB????
If they put the same fit & finish on the ones they sell as the ones at this show, maybe they wouldn’t be so bad, but they race them through production and then expect the dealer to fix the thousands of little issues in 2-4 billable hours… such a joke, I’m not the Lone Ranger in this situation either, a simple Google search will tell you all you need to know about Forrest River products…
Very nice unit, too bad it’s related to forest river, the worst customer service organization in the country. I say this coming from a CS background of 30 years too. Took me 4 years to get my unit fixed and now I cannot even sell it!!
Nice but prices are ridiculous. I understand they have to make profit but they rip people off. I've seen nice new motor homes for sale 150k.i understand this might be bigger and better but not 10 times bigger and better
Great unit, however, the side mounted faucet in the bathroom is horrible. The medicine cabinet sits out to far to brush your teeth or wash your face without scraping your head on it.
This is 2022. For that kind of money it should have a battery bank to support a 3000w inverter and maybe a generator. The 1500w inverter is a joke for anything in this unit. Just my 2 cents.
Geriatrics aren’t boondocking with this high end model. No need for generator and large inverter. This is made for staying stil for a long time
You do a much better walk through please redo this unit
What truck can safely pull that? I bet it would require a HDT truck for sure. Your 450 would grunt under that thing.
