Good morning! Thanks for your video on The Riverstone legacy you bought. My wife and I bought the Riverstone Signature Series 41rl last June 2023. Since we were going to go full time, I researched the different brands for probably over a year. Our picks that we liked were DRV, Luxe, and Riverstone. So far our coach has needed 2 things fixed. They added another cold air return on each Truma A/C unit, and they updated our Firefly to the 3.10 version. Riverstone, Firefly, Truma, And our selling dealer were excellent to work with. And the communication from them was Great! Other than that, we Love our unit, and have had no other issues.
It definitely turns heads with the beautiful paint! 😊
So happy for you! Enjoy the Riverstone - such a beautiful unit! Thanks for commenting!
For the vent I've seen magnetic covers for those. If your pressure when it's running is low enough that should seal it up. If you need a stronger seal what I would do is get a piece of thin acrylic and glue some rare earth magnets to the corners and also have a seal around it if you want it completely shut off. If you want it to NEVER be there just go in the basement and put a block off plate in there or damper or something or if you can fit something inside the cover then a piece of acrylic might be a semi permanent solution.
Thank you for the information and thanks for taking the time to comment and watch our video!
As for as your door goes ,I undone the bottom hinge on ours. Works 100% better. I agree where the controls are for the jacks, the controls are in a treible place , We've had some trouble but we would not leave the Riverstone 42FSKG ,
Agreed
In regards to your vent by your loveseat. We found replacement covers that have adjustable louvers so we can close them off when we're sitting there. They are also metal instead of the plastic. We found these at Walmart for, I believe, around $13.00. We also purchased these netting inserts that stops things from falling into the ducts. I also hate the shades. They work when they want to and bang around in the wind. We put felt bumpers on them to quiet them.
I will give that a try because I don’t want to spend another winter with that heat blowing up when you’re trying to watch TV so thanks for the advice. And I appreciate you taking the time to comment on the video.
You need to go see Orvan in Topeka Indiana his service shop is the best for Cedar Creek Fifth Wheels make an appointment if you need something fixed.
So I see you dont have any complaints !
If used rain ex on doors works great to keep spots and soap scum off or easy to remove
Thanks for the info!
@@TheRiverstoneLife I wonder if automotive ceramic might be even better? My buddy did my windshield when he did my Highlander and that's the absolute favorite thing about the ceramic job is how easy the bugs are to keep clean, wipers actually work, use like a third of the bug spray going over the plains to have a cleaner windshield, I literally didn't scrub it the first 6 months after he did it, it's finally needing to be touched up again.
The thermostat is in the front bedroom because it get the 12 volt power that it need from the circuit board that in the front AC.
Love the new camera!
Thank you!! It’s a work in progress but we are loving it toooooo! 🥰
I just need to get better with it
I have a 2019 39RKFB and almost everything you have an issue with was changed in the newer models. They need to go back it looks like! Spray your door mechanism with WD-40. Every time mine starts to close hard I use WD-40 dry lube and it works fine for a long while.
@amazon needs to be your paid partner because you guys endorse them a lot 😂
Agreed! And I just gave them two more gadgets to look into! Lol
We have 2021 same unit and have the same problem with the door!
It’s so frustrating. I’m definitely feeling your pain. It’s one thing that just irritates me. Lol
For cleaning your shower glass use a squeegee. I would also suggest that you frost the glass instead of stick on paper that will eventually come off with humidity. The frosting for the shower glass is a spray on. You would have to do a little prep work for over spray or take the doors out and do it outside.
I was thinking about frost in the glass causes stick on PaperWorks like crap. Lol
Squeeze after every shower. They are easy to remove and clean well
Could you please tell us the model and make of the you installed in your bedroom? Ty I love it
If you are talking about the heater on the wall I attached a link for you 😊

we have a 2022 42fskg.... have the same door .... I've found that there are two causes for the hard to close issue .... one is the friction hinges on the door ... to check them open the door ... look at the trim around the door and then move the door back and forth a few inches if you see the trim on the outside of the door " pull away " or expose unpainted area under the trim .... this means the joints in either the door frame internal to the door are loose or the rivets going through the hinges into the door Frame are not tight and causing the door to not seat in the frame the same way every time .... the other issue is the door strike plate ..... the thick one on the door frame ( it's a lippert part) sticks out about 1/4 inch from the frame .... I found the door handle will actually work loose a little and then cause the latch to not be able to push in easily with the strike plate .... 2 ways to fix .... one find a thinner strike plate and replace it so the latches hits lower on the slope of the catch ..... or two Dremel the slope to a smoother slope so it doesn't hit the strike plate so high on the latch .... on ours I took the lower friction hinge apart .... ground out the friction part with a Drexel and reinstalled ( works like a regular hinge now ) this took the flex out of our frame .... then I dremeled the catch down to make it smoother and easier to get the latch to push in when closing
I appreciate all that information Jim. I will keep playing with it. It’s just frustrating when it’s brand new and it’s been doing it since we first picked it up I could understand if it was a year or two old and these issues were going on but I’ll keep playing with it I do appreciate the comment.
no worries, I do understand the frustration and the issues your having especially with a new rig. we are also full time ( my wife is a travel nurse) and we have found some of the same similar things you have but ours is a 42fskg.... I do know you can contact firefly and there is a way to hook the furnace to the center ac ... if I remember it's moving a wire on the g12 panel ... then a update to the firefly ... contact them they are happy to help .... but if ya ever need help just reach out I will be glad to help in any way I can
Be prepared for potential frame flex unless Riverstone’s frame specs are much stronger than the Grand Design Momentums. It apparently isn’t unique to just Grand Design though. We are also amazed to what these RV design engineers are thinking when they design these RVs. Did your rig not come with a generator? We got the Oman 5500
I forgot you guys were out of Colorado! Woohoo! We finally got our first video out today (12/23) even though we have been on Facebook and Instagram since the beginning.
I’ve watched a frame real close I don’t think we have any issues as of right now. I’ve already hauled it 20,000 miles across the country.
Everything seems to be OK there but I’ll keep an eye on it. Yes I could’ve got it with the generator but I wanted that compartment for more storage because living in this thing full-time, we needed all the space we can get that generator was a better deal. It’s propane and gas and it will run all three of the air conditioners with no issues of any kind and being on the back right there takes two seconds to plug the cord in so it makes it simple And I like it being outside where there’s no fumes in those compartments. Well we’re in Colorado again. Just landed didn’t see anything on my phone. DIA spent a few days with the kids and then we head back to Pennsylvania. I’ll check your Video out
We have the same model but a 2021 and our auto level control is in the wet bay on the left side and it works good there, I can see my hitch when hooking or unhooking. You could probably move fairly easy if the wires are long enough, just a thought.
I wonder why they moved it 2023. Crazy
@@TheRiverstoneLife-Have you thought about using the app on your phone for the Level Up system?
Well, the app they had me install lets me control everything on the RV but it does not have the leveling system, so unless you know of another app that I don’t know about.
@@TheRiverstoneLife I can't control the leveling on the APP either.
In your travels check out Amish Family Rv, you will find more info on him, on the forest river forum
Will do. thanks
How about a Luxe. You won’t have those issues 😊
You can reprogram furnace
Thank you for the suggestion - we’ll
have to check into figuring out how to do that.
Power shades another thing to break
So true BUT when you spend this much $ you'd think they would have them lol - wishful thinking - I suppose 🤔
@@TheRiverstoneLife well everything break eventually….just replaced all manual shades in my DP about two years ago…not bad for 21 years of service though
@@richardbelisle4807 WOW - not bad at all!
Our door was bowed from top to bottom.
Did you replace it ?
Did you get the shower plastic thing on?
We tried BUT it didn't work 😑
I wouldn’t buy any unit from any manufacturer who puts HVAC vents in the floor. Power shades for sure!
Could you explain why?
All N
200k and your generator is on a rear carrier?
Well, when you truly live in a 5th wheel full-time driving across the country, you need all the room you can get so I turned my generator compartment upfront and into storage and put the generator on the back. And that was a custom carrier built in Florida to withstand the weight and it works absolutely perfect and it’s outside in the air where I don’t have to worry about any fumes getting into the fifth wheel and it’s on the backside of the fifth wheel by the kitchen so even if I had to boondocks somewhere and run my generator, I would never hear it inside the fifth wheel sleeping area, so yes I really thought this out and yes it works absolutely perfect and it’s been hauled across the country 20,000 miles and it’s still on there perfectly

I get the level up complaint. Don't understand why they put the controls there but I've seen it in the same place on other models. Bought our Cedar Creek last June and so far no issues plus our level up controls are on the front side of the camper where they should be.
Yeah, it’s crazy. You would just think common sense would put it right up there where it should be but I’m waiting to hear the reasoning behind this. Lol
