It appears to me that the Taube had considerable crosswind at landing, a bit more than it was designed for. In fact back then they would always take off and land into the wind. Always.

From a technical point of view both planes are amazing in their own way. Also the advances in technology in a very short period of time relatively speaking are amazing. But when you consider what they were designed to do, you realize how efficient society has become at killing and question if society has made any real progress over the years. Good background music would be Barry McQuire's "Eve of Destruction".

+Joe Fazzari actualy the Taube was not desinged as a military airplane. It also was considered by the Luftfahrt Truppe (Austrian Army Aviation Branch) as only userfull as a trainer and concideret obsolete by 1913. Very few of the austrian planes lastet till the outbreak of war. The german military versions where iligal copys of the original and it's hard to tell why germany used this rather basic cevilian aircraft for so long as an frontline plane.
