oh to be absolutely brutally honest I don't think op overdid anything. I mean her mother was a terrible person for the majority of her life. what was she supposed to do? expose her when she was already married? I think it was a good idea to do it at the wedding. her future husband deserved to know the truth. also did she really think she could just take all of that money and not have any consequences? I think he was just one of those women who thought that the world belonged to her. at least now she is going to pay for her actions. I mean she had the basically give up most of her life to repay her debt and has now lost every single person in her family. she is truly on her own now.

Trust me, unless your Joker level psychotic, anyone is still going to have lingering feelings about things like this. It's only natural to be human in this sense of action, but in the end, the hardest choices comes with the heaviest consequences, and it just so happen she's lucky enough to just feel a little guilty.

First most of the trust funds are set up to where parents have no access to them if they set it up to where you didn't have access until you're 18th birthday then you would not have needed your mother's signature or your mother's name on the account or any other adult. As for needing her signature to remove her from the account after you were 18 know you can do that without her because your name would be in the primary.

The only thing I would do differently would be to go to the cops sooner. If the wedding was cancelled soon enough then much of that money would not have been wasted. Court ruled in her flavor but her chances of getting it all back after she spent it were not great.

Now there are trusts with stipulations on them, but a college trust should transfer over on their 18th birthday or upon graduation of high school. Mainly because it was setup for the exact purpose of paying for college.
