I take enough warfarin to kill several rats every day. If it really was a small dose of rat poison, then it should have been unnoticeable. If it was a large dose the symptoms wouldn't have been as described. Warfarin is a blood thinner so a large dose would cause internal bleeding. Additionally warfarin isn't that fast acting. It would have taken awhile for it to set in.

The biggest evidence it's fake is the poison used. Rat poison? It's almost certainly was a warfarin based rat poison. And warfarin is used medically. I take enough warfarin to kill several rats every day. If it really was a small dose of rat poison, then it should have been unnoticeable. If it was a large dose the symptoms wouldn't have been as described. Warfarin is a blood thinner so a large dose would cause internal bleeding. Additionally warfarin isn't that fast acting. It would have taken awhile for it to set in.

When you marry, you also bring in the partner's relatives, crazy idiosyncrasies, and all. You can't demand they stop contacting the ones you don't like. Knowing I had a crazy MIL or SIL would drive me crazy. The partner also has internalized trauma that they don't recognize, and as a new partner, it would be something you have to navigate, often alone. The partner may not see the madness around them, and you are inadvertently sucked in.
If someone that bullied and bothered me started acting like they've changed and claiming therapy, I'd need to see a receipt. No way that heathen even set foot in a mental health office.
