The only thing I would have added to the agreement in the end, where OP dropped the charges in exchange for getting reimbursed for repairs and attorney costs and the no contact clause; the BILs and sisters cannot trash talk OP and his wife to anyone, neither publicly nor on social media. Because you just know that since the BILs and sisters lost every round of this fight they are seething with rage and will 100% guaranteed trash talk and slander/libel OP to get back at him.

And the BIL’s are just plain stupid. How were they going to explain to the hunting party for the damaged gate, the doors, and the water being shut off?
I’ve not talked to my toxic sister since 1982. The last time I saw her was in a courtroom in 1995 when she was being handcuffed after her and her husband were found guilty in the death of our mother.
I am so sorry that you have had to deal with such horrible people. My mom makes me want to pull my hair out most days, but I'd never hurt a single hair on her head. I hope that you have a strong support system. I know that you need it.
Incredible how far that little harmless stupidity went. Risking all your belongings, your social ife, your marriage, your freedom, just because your kids fall into a poll by themselves ?
Sometimes while listening I wish I had such entertaining stories to tell...but then I am: Nah, I'll stick with my perfectly good family, thank you very much
David's job is like a dream especially being a knowledgeable tradesman and law enforcement. But yeah, he should've sold the property as soon as his parents dropped it on him. Sister should get jobs during school hours.
I am 100% certain that the sisters and BIL would have paid for OP's phone (sarcasm) if he had fallen in, since they also expected the OP to pay for their own phones after they allowed their kids to run around with it and attempt to push people into pools more than once, which implied they didn't stop them after the first time. It would be weird to have a double standard like that, where damage their kids caused to other people's property was not their responsibility, but damage their kids caused to their own property was other people's responsibility.
Idk man. It is one thing to just listen to a story like this and it is another to live through it. That shit takes a long ass time. And again, OP’s lawyer said they’ll likely not even get any money from it and this process could take 2 years.
@@theanominous It certainly would. But imagine dealing with this shit for 2 years while knowing you would not get a lot of money. That's 2 years of stress and stuff being dragged out because the BILs were being stupid while there was this other, quicker solution available to you. You know what I mean? I get why OP took the route they did. It might not fulfill this justice boner readers tend to have, but if it was my life, I would just want it over with, man.
What matters to you more? Pressing charges which will take 2+ yrs to accomplish to ruin their lives while you likely won't get any money OR a few months of dropping charges, getting recompensed for the damages, all while cutting them out of your life? Because that's the choice the OP had to make.
My petty as hell sister disappeared when I left, right around the same time her super chill and laid back doppelgänger arrived and took over her role as my little sister. Seems her short time playing the role of eldest (and only) child changed her viewpoint.
Consider reporting the unreported income to the IRS. Your sisters & BILs turned your property into a BnB, opening you up to incredible liability. This is no light matter

I bet OP is going to really appreciate that place in the future. A lot of people when they get older either want to live by the beach or in the woods/mountains. Sounds like OP probably isnt the biggest people person and will like to live a slower, less stressful life in the future so my bet is he will grow to appreciate that house
Umm, the sentiment of it being the parents’ choice for who can go to the house is lovely. But also makes no sense, if the parents paid the bills sure. But they aren’t so he would be paying for his sisters which they dont deserve
I am astonished at people’s audacity. SIL nor BIL paid not one red cent towards the vacation home yet they feel entitled to have access to it. People have truly lost their minds! WTH????
So sad when a family has these issues. The sisters are jealous and narcissistic. If they had just enjoyed the vacation home and not been greedy life would have been wonderful. But most can't be happy with what they have. Just so sad.

Tbf, it's not even a big deal. The kids are just being kids having fun. The problem is that the parents didn't take responsibility that their kids were getting a bit out of hand and trashed their phones, yet blamed the OP for them falling into the water.
Uhh dude, the kids were aged 7-11 I'm very very very sure the average kid knows not to push pepole into pools by the age of 8 (I know because I had many cousins at that age range and they all knew from 7 not to push pepole, especially into pools) What do you mean it's not a big deal? What if that neighbour who was pushed off couldn't swim due to being an elderly or disabled or something?
@@DaBaseBallZ I agree with you that the average kid should know better, but I really don't have an issue with kids playing pranks and being kids either. There's a fine line though. If the kids are pulling pranks on strangers, then that should be corrected quickly by the parents. But if it's to family and friends, it should be alright depending on the prank. The problem in the original post is that the parents got mad for their kids being brats and rather than scolding their children, went after OP. Also, you're being pretty hyperbolic to point out that the person who was pushed could have been someone who couldn't swim. What's you're point? The person being pushed into the pool could've also been an Olympic swimmer too for all we know. We could speculate with hypotheticals, but that's all they are: hypotheticals. What matters is what happened. And what happened is that the kids pulled a prank and they were outplayed and their parents were mad at the wrong person.

Shout out to the parents for doing the right thing by their son and dil. As for the younger bil, I feel like he's painted in a bad light due to the rest of the family. Don't get me wrong guy seemed like a dick, until the end. When he told everyone else to "shut the fuck up" tells me that he was pressured. I dunno, I've done some dumb shit to stay on the side of the fence i was on. I think once everything hit the fan he finally had enough as well. I may be wrong but something tells me I might be right.
I cannot stand the graphics for the story and have had to place opaque books in front of the screen so I didn’t have to look at it. People who have vertigo would probably understand what I’m saying, and it just makes me kind of sick to watch the stuff going in like circles and squares and up and down and everything, so take out the graphics and the story is just fine
what the literal heck is wrong with the sisters? The solution to their issues are just so straightforward. 1. live within their means. 2. Work harder if their family wants more 3. discipline their kids. Envy is not going to get you anywhere. If you want the good life, you work and plan for it!
My front door cost $8000 and it is a basic double door. Add in sterling and security features and I think he is getting a deal from repairs and not having to replace the whole thing.

Ppl ain’t worth a shit nowadays especially family that guilt trip and expect the world whenever they choose but contributes nothing. Record everything from every conversation family or not.
Nowadays? You think this kind of thing is new? It's definitely not. The only thing that is new is our access to so many people's lives and so much "news"
WOW 😮 Sorry you and your wife had to go through that unpleasant experience. Prayers 🙏🏾 that all is peaceful now. You are better than me. They would have received the reverse from me🔒
But how shameless can someone be honestly? The guy bought the house and did it for his parents, not his siblings. Its not a common house, its the guys house. It's not going to end up on an inheritance, even if it did(which it wont), it doesn't mean they'll get it still, these people are ridiculous
Im watching from the beginning just for u buddy, take my watch time some of the new stuff was old to me but I hadn’t heard anything about the lawyer yet!!!!!
I know some people are like this, but I just can't understand how you could treat others that way, especially family, but jealousy can take over, if we let it. I wouldn't even dream about destroying someone else's property or renting out someone else's property without their permission. They sisters and BILs need a rough awakening about their character. They need to look in the mirror and grow up. Their brother may be a lot younger than them, but he seems to have always been more mature than them. My youngest siblings are a lot younger than me and I had a close relationship with them growing. We were pretty poor and I did my best to fill in any gaps I could. I got a paoer route when I was 11. I started baby sitting them for free when I was 12 and started babysitting out of the house when I was 13 and spent most of it on them. I took them somewhere on the weekends for a treat and I bought our first game system on lay-a-way when I was 12. As adults, we aren't close but I lived away for 25 years. I am close to my sister's daughter though. I am glad that I moved back live in the same town before my stepdad passed and get to visit with my niece more than a week a year when I would take her on vacation with me. Too many people rely on just their feelings and allow their feelings to take over their common sense or care for their family. Too much emphasis has been place.on just feelings instead of their character. Feelings are normal and have their place, but when they control our actions to others and our detriment, we have to have some self reflection and self control. It can be easy to become selfish if we just focus on our feelings. Feelings can lead us to dark places and hurt others,. especially those closest to us. Character used to be really important in society, but now it seems that feelings often out weigh doing the right thing.
My goodness these sisters are crazy and entitled. They chose to get married and have children so young without getting their finances in tact. Jealous of the younger brother who is financially well off trying to make from him in an unauthorised manner
Your two sisters have access to a pool but they didn't teach to 10-year-olds to swim they're unfit parents They need to be sent to parenting classes and those kids need to be in swimming lessons immediately

I bet the IRS would be interested in the income the sisters got from those rentals! LOL
You don't try to screw the IRS over. They will rake you over the coals like they did to Al Capone. Even Joker knows not to mess with the IRS, and he's the Clown Prince of Crime.
Moral of the story… teach your kids that it’s not okay to push people into pools and teach parents how to act like adults
That story feels 85% hyperbolic. I’d imagine it’s complete cap for Reddit karma as most AITA stories are. Guy sounds bitter that his BILs and Sisters live a better life than he does tbh
@@alfiehaslengthHe lives a great life. How can he be bitter? It's clear from this that he's the one better off (unless some information is undisclosed).
@@Moravian_Mf I commented this too early to be honest. The first half or so made the guy sound like a miserable childless bore but the second half he because a little more sympathetic…
Where OP said he won't be able to talk about it but around it, I'm guessing this deal has an NDA.
I wouldn't be terribly surprised to hear in a future update that Middle BIL divorces his wife and dips out.
is that something that can even be demanded
@@turzillaYes, yes it is. A certain 45th President is on trial now for violating an agreement to not defame a certain woman after losing his case. He left the courthouse and on the courthouse steps started defaming her AGAIN, and is back in court AGAIN.
@@turzilla Probably maybe not but it depends for country and legal system
Just love the dad didn’t even bother to leave the pool. He was there to chill and party not to deal with drama 😆
proof the story is real. dads of adults really dgaf anymore they just wanna vibe and drink a light beer
Based dad.
"They can go pound sand" will never stop being funny to me 🤣
Op is a good son, parents are good parents. Sisters are spoiled.
I'm so sorry; what a horrible thing to happen.
Sorry to hear that. I hope you're coping.
I am so sorry that you have had to deal with such horrible people.
My mom makes me want to pull my hair out most days, but I'd never hurt a single hair on her head.
I hope that you have a strong support system. I know that you need it.
That’s terrible I hope you are fine now
I'm sorry but how old even are you
What a conclusion to a "let my sister's kids run into a pool" beginning.
Incredible how far that little harmless stupidity went. Risking all your belongings, your social ife, your marriage, your freedom, just because your kids fall into a poll by themselves ?
Sometimes while listening I wish I had such entertaining stories to tell...but then I am: Nah, I'll stick with my perfectly good family, thank you very much
hits different when you have your own shit and not in a good way
Oh, it's fun having your own stories, you just have to be a really detached person and to not hold out much love for people that try to walk over you.
😂😂😂 the OP side stepping the kids and letting them dunk is a beautiful image.
As is the image of the little turds wailing after getting pulled out of the pool!! LOL!
“I thought the sh- had hit the fan before, but it was more of a fart compared to what’s happened this week.”
I gotta remember that one. 😂
So exquistely worded!
Very epic wording!
Thid had me chuckling 😂
David's job is like a dream especially being a knowledgeable tradesman and law enforcement.
But yeah, he should've sold the property as soon as his parents dropped it on him.
Sister should get jobs during school hours.
"If ya don't know how to swim, don't be pushin' people in the pool!" - Grandpa
The lawyers wrote the apology and remember op, they aren’t sorry. They’re sorry they got caught
That part and the part where one Sister demanded that OP- *her brother* - pay for her kids' college tuition had my blood boiling.
Considering where the rest of the story goes, frankly having double standards is the least ethically shady thing these guys do
I am 100% sure your sarcasm is on point! 😂
I would have gone ahead and met BIL’s in court because their stupidity should have been enough to get them jailed.
Idk man. It is one thing to just listen to a story like this and it is another to live through it. That shit takes a long ass time. And again, OP’s lawyer said they’ll likely not even get any money from it and this process could take 2 years.
@@RedPanda391 I know that OP most likely would not get much. But it would certainly teach these entitled idiots that actions have consequences.
@@solidsnake5644 this guy gets it. Well put
I’ve been no contact with my toxic sister for five years and it’s been the greatest thing ever. I forget she even exists. 😌
My petty as hell sister disappeared when I left, right around the same time her super chill and laid back doppelgänger arrived and took over her role as my little sister. Seems her short time playing the role of eldest (and only) child changed her viewpoint.
Can’t belive it went from harmless teasing to a criminal investigation
Consider reporting the unreported income to the IRS. Your sisters & BILs turned your property into a BnB, opening you up to incredible liability. This is no light matter
Says they’re not toxic and are good people, just petty…then they proceed to break into his property and threaten to assault him…that uh, that’s not what “good people,” do…
If my kids tried to push my brother into the pool and fell in themselves, I'd laugh then push them back in when they tried to get out.
SAME!! 😂
My older brother demanded that I took care of his three daughters because I am wealthy. He does not even pay child support to his ex wife nor help her with the kids in any way.
I was going to help them but they stopped talking to me as I stopped talking to my brother because he is a deadbeat dad.
They are no my responsibility, they are on their own now.
This guy has way more patience than I do. Minute they said I had to start saving for THEIR children college fund I would have thrown them out my house laughing hysterically.
If the kids drown doing this then that would have been on the parents.
So all of this basically happened because you guys went to a barbecue.
Wanna bet that there was never taxes paid over the rental money sisters and BIL's earned. If they make any more crap, get the tax collector involved!
So this whole thing boils down to jealousy. smh
doesn't it always??
I First read the part about the pool incident and found it funny, and left it at that, never thought i'd be seeing updates on it, much less on this scale. Holy Molly.
Man…I would probably sell the place. I know the parents want to keep it but I would get so VERY tired of dealing with all of that drama.
I bet OP is going to really appreciate that place in the future. A lot of people when they get older either want to live by the beach or in the woods/mountains. Sounds like OP probably isnt the biggest people person and will like to live a slower, less stressful life in the future so my bet is he will grow to appreciate that house
Wait it’s your property .
Umm, the sentiment of it being the parents’ choice for who can go to the house is lovely. But also makes no sense, if the parents paid the bills sure. But they aren’t so he would be paying for his sisters which they dont deserve
Middle BIL said he wasn’t going to jail for nobody😂😂😂
I am astonished at people’s audacity. SIL nor BIL paid not one red cent towards the vacation home yet they feel entitled to have access to it. People have truly lost their minds! WTH????
Holy shit was this a long rollercoaster. Your sisters families are nuts
So sad when a family has these issues. The sisters are jealous and narcissistic. If they had just enjoyed the vacation home and not been greedy life would have been wonderful. But most can't be happy with what they have. Just so sad.
op : my sisters would Air bnb the place and would make 2-4k each week
also op: not worth putting it up as an air bnb.
my brother in christ if i made 4k a week i wouldnt have to work a job ever again.
Taking proper care of an AirBNB is a pain. The sisters were stay at home moms and probably had the time, plus it was to their friends.
Story 1:Very very very irresponsible on the parent's end, allowing kids to attack pepole is just scummy,NTA
There's only 1 story bro
Tbf, it's not even a big deal. The kids are just being kids having fun. The problem is that the parents didn't take responsibility that their kids were getting a bit out of hand and trashed their phones, yet blamed the OP for them falling into the water.
Uhh dude, the kids were aged 7-11
I'm very very very sure the average kid knows not to push pepole into pools by the age of 8 (I know because I had many cousins at that age range and they all knew from 7 not to push pepole, especially into pools)
What do you mean it's not a big deal?
All went to hell because the bil wants op to pay a few hundreds for a phone, and ending up with 6 figures loses 😂
I already know this is finna be exquisite

Didn’t this all start with some kids trying to push someone in the pool?😅😅😅😅
That guy better adopt a smart promising kid and leave everything he owns to that kid.
My younger son says he not getting married but will adopt a preteen boy to inherit all of his stuff! I told him yay! I will get a grandson from him yet! Any kids my kids get by birth or marriage will be my grandkids no matter what!
This guy seems to have a great r/s with his wife. He mentions her in every post no matter how minimal her involvement was. Its kibda sweet
It's better then those spouses who side with there In-laws instead of there partner. At least his wife had his back and didn't turn against him during his time of need. She sounds like a keeper.
TLDR: sisters kids tried to push me in the pool but I didnt let them. Which opened a can of worm that they can not close.
and to think this all started from kids pushing people into a pool & getting a taste of their own medicine.

Shout out to the parents for doing the right thing by their son and dil. As for the younger bil, I feel like he's painted in a bad light due to the rest of the family. I dunno, I've done some dumb shit to stay on the side of the fence i was on. I think once everything hit the fan he finally had enough as well. I may be wrong but something tells me I might be right.
The part that sucks is how close the sisters are but he is not part of that all. Sucks as a sibling. Also crazy that all this is for a house
The nerve of these people stealing from their brother then have the balls to demand they have access to it for their income people are ridiculous

😂😂😂😂 they're feel sooooo entitled
not the OPS fault as the kids ran at him
what the literal heck is wrong with the sisters? The solution to their issues are just so straightforward.
1. live within their means.
2. Work harder if their family wants more
3. discipline their kids.
Envy is not going to get you anywhere. If you want the good life, you work and plan for it!
Most of $4000 dollars is for the front door? Was it made of white rhino horns and gold?
My front door cost $8000 and it is a basic double door. Add in sterling and security features and I think he is getting a deal from repairs and not having to replace the whole thing.
"BMI & BAC made this impossible." 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Honestly the OP should start renting with those profits they would make good money.
Also if anyone is in this situation as soon as some pos in your life starts bothering you about some form of property IMMEDIATELY get camers on it.
He should only start doing that once the matter is settled with family. Otherwise, he's just adding kerosene to the fire.

I kinda hope he wills it to David! lol!
Im watching from the beginning just for u buddy, take my watch time
some of the new stuff was old to me but I hadn’t heard anything about the lawyer yet!!!!!
