I can't imagine how painful this must be for John's family. I never met the man, but his music has meant so much personally, I feel like I'm experiencing the loss too. Please stay strong Fiona, Jody, Tommy, and Jack. John will always be with you.
John Prine is simply amazing. I found this guy Brett McDaniel, he is good too. Not as well known. I think he plays out of Alabama. So much talent out there you guys. ruclips.net/video/nWpwnKcJzrY/видео.html RIP Prine. Thanks for all the great music.
When John last played Perth in Scotland my dad and I drove 2 and half hours to see him. We had a few hours in Perth and were walking up the main street and there was John Prine walking toward us. So my dad stopped him to say Hello. They had a good chat about the gig later that night. I took a photo of them together. My dad was so happy. He needed that as wasnt long after my mum passed away. After being together with my dad for 65yrs. They met age 10. A year later John played Glasgow and I managed to get centre from row seats. I had the photo printed on tshirts for dad and I. John walked on stage, was waving to everyone and then seen dad and I and recognised us! And then smiled, pointed and laughed at our tshirts. My dads passed away too now. I have wonderful memories. My dad was always happy with family and with music. Thank you. John will be sorely missed. He was a great singer and songwriter. A storyteller xx

@@jayweir6375 How many years was John and Fiona married? Did they have any kids of their own or did was John a step-father to them (which I think is great because I had a stepfather, and I went to court to have my real father severed from my life). But it sounds like he was crazy for the kids and he probably taught them all how to pick the guitar and play the piano.

Bless your heart Mrs. Prine. Your husbands music has lifted me off the ground of depression for years and years and years of my life. I wish I could have thanked him for the way his words always reach inside me and find that place that needs a tickle or a hug, somewhere near where the heart and the soul unite. I know we all wish you never had had to feel the pain of losing him. I think we all lost a dear, dear friend.
What a beautiful Irish lady.I loved John Prines music.I only heard at the weekend of his passing.I send my sympathy to his family and his beautiful wife from Ireland.☘️
My Dear Mrs Prine, I am unable to truly put into words just how much I miss John your beloved husband. I am a very long time fan and I love my life every day by asking myself “ what would John have written about my situation”. You see he resides in my brain. No lyrics or melody move me as he did ! Because he resides in my head I respectfully listen to a song or two and then put him back in the corner of my brain that keeps him safe and available for my next few words of inspiration. When I first listened to “hello in there” I loved the song but did not relay as I do now. Very few pas by sand ask hello! I have compared John to a Fine bottle of wine, a ·stradivarius violin, but even they do not compare. His passing from Covid infuriates me because he could have been saved if we as a nation acted faster and stopped our devision. And acted faster instead of denials of this pandemic. If there were an award for the best of the best lyrics John would win hands down. I am sad but walk around with him in my head and he continues to keep me centered. I so miss him but cherish his legacy and gifts he has given to us all. I prey for the world to be a better place and listen to John Prine’s advice! In Spite of Ourselves
I truly loved John Prine. Every time i listen to his music he puts a smile on my face and makes me forget some of my pain. He will be forever missed. A great American Treasure. My heart and prayers continue to go out to his lovely wife Fiona and his wonderful children. Many Blessings Prine family.
I lost my husband to the coronavirus last month. She and I are in that horrible club now. I felt I needed to watch this because she knows what it's like God bless her.
It’s plain to see how much Fiona is hurting and how much she misses John. If only everyone had that kind of love and unselfish devotion. I last saw John in concert in Orlando on 12/06/2019. As I watched, I somehow had the eerie feeling it would be for the last time. It’s sad to think there will be no more new John Prine songs, but he left an amazing legacy behind him. God bless John, and God bless his family. I hope they never forget how much he was truly loved by his fans, and how much we will miss him.
"Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all." He is not gone, Fiona as long as he lives in your heart and you feel his spirit in the breeze as it kisses your lips. Remember this, "Death cannot sever what love has made eternal". I wish you peace and strength during this difficult time.
Ok ...heres my tribute. When I was 15, I set up a sound stage for John. Although he was a touch ... inebriated, after the concert he gave me a guitar lesson. Fast forward ... 40 years, at a winery in Seattle, in front of a crowd of 3000 people, under a blue spotlight ... John walked up to me and my wife, and serenaded us by singing my favorite song in the world, Angel from Montgomery. I cried, my wife cried .. the entire front 3 rows cried ... and even John got a little misty eyed. An experience I could never repeat. I owe alot to John. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't be the performing musician I am today. My heart goes out to you, Fiona ... I feel for your loss. He was a famtastic, one of a kind man .. and when it comes to songwriting, God broke the mold. God bless you, dear. 😎

I started listening to John in college in 1975. I wore his records out. I got to see him in Madison wi in jan 2020. I cried when he died just like when Steve Goodman passed away. They're making music again in heaven now.
I thought I lost my soul in Vietnam but I brought a little bit left home to share with my loved ones. Now the cupboard is empty and I have no more words to say. You are free John, you are truly free. See you soon with a little bit of soul left for you. My words of a song wrote many years ago. He was an inspiring fellow for me. The truth will set us free.
Thanks for your recollections, Fiona. What a Run, John and you had! I once rode with John, (and his longtime manager) on a train-- from Grand Junction, CO to SLC, UT. They were doing some college concerts then; late 80s. John played a few songs for me, while crossing those arid deserts. I was an employee of the Railroad back then, and felt extremely fortunate to have had John ride our train. Trains lend themselves, to John's kind of music.
What a wonderful interview, everything still must feel so raw for his lovely wife and family but her answers seemingly revealed so much of the love and respect between them all. Sincerest condolences to all the family and once again a huge thank you to the man for all of that wonderful music.
John was a one off. Such a talented singer. I still play his music most days. I knew he had Covid but thought he would make it. It must be so difficult living without him. What a wonderful legacy he has left behind. God bless him, wherever he is now and I know he will still be up there singing. Deepest condolences to his family.
It was just in the last ten years or so that I had become more familiar with John Prine and his music. The one thing I realized as I became aware of John Prine's music was that we have been listening to him our whole lives. The more you listen the more you realize how many songs by John you have heard through the years and did not know. RIP Mr. Prine, you will live on with all your fans forever. You deserved a much better exit from this world.
I hadn’t even heard of John Prine until about 5 days ago, and only then because someone was saying how great a singer he was. So me being me, I decided to take a look, and from the 1st song I was hooked! I have binged listened, watched videos and spent hours replaying over and over! I was so sorry to hear John has passed away from this terrible thing COVID-19, and I send my condolences to his family 💔💔
Been a fan of John's since I turned 21 and I'm 57 now. Got the chance to finally seen him live about 3 or four years ago with two close friends. He played everything we wanted to hear. It was a perfect show, the crowd was nice and John and his beautiful music filled the Kirby Center. It was the show were everybody sat and listened, you didn't want to miss a single note, and when he opened the show with the words I think I'm gonna stick around for a while tonight we knew we was in for a great show. And for days after that show my two friends and I talked about nothing but the show. The three of us was good friend and helped each other through some tough times, Gary died a year after the show and Jack placed on 1 yr ago. And when Jack and I attended Gary's funeral John was in the cd player as we caught ourselves an illegal smile, when Jack placed I thought of all the souvenir or memories that I collected over the years with my deceased friends. Thank You John Prine for all the Souvenirs. My heart goes out to the Family. May he Rest In Peace
A beautiful few minutes of Fiona' s world right now. The online tribute was wonderful. John has often sang me to sleep, comforted me and made me laugh . He will heal his family and friends as time passes by. RIP John, I hope you meet my son aged 16yrs , he been in that place of great joy, heaven, for over a decade , knows his way around . God bless.

I bought John Prine's first album shortly after it was released in 1971 and I've been a fan ever since. Even today the lyrics and music in his songs bring out deep emotion and thought. I'm so glad that his music was exposed to so many more people in his later years. RIP John
Fiona, I was lucky enough to see your husband perform live twice in Austin and it was magic. People will be listening to his music for generations to come. I was texting with my older son when it was announced that John Prine had died. My son Jamie, who is 52, said "This is so sad. I grew up with him." and that true, always playing his records and then CDs. He set poetry to music and the only other person whose lyrics were poetry to me was Shel Silverstein. Jamie grew up with him too. Two talented, sensitive men, gone too soon, but not gone at all, because we'll always be listening to their music. I am so very sorry for your loss.
Wishing the Prine Family, 'Love and Happiness and All the Best' : ) John provided a lot of Joy and Narrated the Nights and Chapters of many lives. GBU ALL
John certainly would have come up with songs for this one. He was a blessing in so many lives, and he continues to pour out blessings through his music. Long live John Prine, now and forever.
Dear Fiona, you and John were truly blessed to find your soulmate and raise a beautiful family. John's music is so much more than songs, more like poetry that touches the core of the human condition. He will live on in the hearts of so many. God bless you and yours. Tom from Flagstaff AZ.
A giant loss for music but even more heartbreaking on the human level. John had a song for that. I’m so glad I got to see him and so mad I missed him the last time through.
Covid didn't care if you were one of the greatest song writer's of all time, but we, your fans did. We love you, John. Thanks for the memories. Your songs will go on for ever.
My husband and I both loved John's music. it's so hard to lose someone you're in love with, I know I lost my husband in 2009 and I know what you're going through. Bless you Fiona you're in my prayers. 💙

Sad sad sad. John Prine was scheduled to be at this years Merle Fest here in NC. He passed away and the festival was cancelled because of the same awful virus that killed him. Its been a horrible year and there is no end in sight.

Never heard one song by John that I didn't like. He will always be on my play list. RIP
John was a one off. Such a talented singer. I still play his music most days. I knew he had Covid but thought he would make it. It must be so difficult living without him. What a wonderful legacy he has left behind. God bless him, wherever he is now and I know he will still be up there singing. Deepest condolences to his family.
Shocking... difficult to watch this, but so brave of this woman to do this. Big respect, RIP John! You will be missed
What a sweet sweet lady and so blessed to be married to such a remarkable and gifted human being. RIP John, you’ve certainly earned it.
It was an honor to meet him and a joy to see him perform! Thanks John

God bless.
Sorry to hear about your son, I lost my son as well. I met John Prine in 1978 and had a back Stage pass. He's the best storyteller I know. I hope my son can meet him as well....
@@guitar819 Thank you very much, yes I hope they all can meet in some way , sharing their love with John and all in the company of the great Lord. God bless
I bought John Prine's first album shortly after it was released in 1971 and I've been a fan ever since. Even today the lyrics and music in his songs bring out deep emotion and thought. I'm so glad that his music was exposed to so many more people in his later years. RIP John

If there was a better singer songwriter on this planet then I've yet to discover them. RIP John you will never be replaced
Thank you CBS and Fiona. Wishing you strength.💕

He
will live on in the hearts of so many. God bless you and yours. Tom from Flagstaff AZ.
Uncharted territory. I know exactly what that feeling is. God Bless you dear.
I feel like crying.
My husband and I both loved John's music. it's so hard to lose someone you're in love with, I know I lost my husband in 2009 and I know what you're going through. Bless you Fiona you're in my prayers. 💙
She sounds like a wonderful lady!
John was blessed to have her and we are blessed that John gave us so many great songs! Rest well my friend!
Unfortunately, I had never heard of John Prine until about a year ago when I started listening to his music on Utube. He blew me away with him singing, guitar playing and most of all his song writing. Even today, I loved his style of music. God be with John and family.
