On a Swedish provincial road, there's a salient yellow house, in which there's no life anymore. Once, this was a place bursting with life. A local town shop, run by Mr. Arne. Due to deteriorating health conditions, he was inevitably forced to close the store at the end of 2013.
The products are still on the shelves.
The hard work and love that he stopped in his shop, has now become worthless. His office is now a tranquil place. Attached to the shop is the residence of this Mr. Arne and his family who once resided here.
His health worsened, and Mr. Arne was hospitalized a few months after his shop closed, after which he passed away. One thing was certain henceforth: the store will never reopen its doors.
Today we'll investigate what has been left behind. Enjoy a new chapter in the country of Sweden.

That took me back to my childhood before huge supermarkets, when stores were still small. It was so much easier to chose what we wanted. There was always the shop keeper on hand to speak to. No wandering around looking for help. Now there is so much to choose from, it confuses my brain. 😀 Thank you for a heart touching video Blessed Be and lots of love 💖💖

The piece of furniture you mentioned you had not seen before is a telephone bench or seat. You would be able to sit and enjoy your conversation. The drawer was for a telephone directory and most likely a pad of paper and something to write with.
The wicker footboard and headboard of the bed are beautiful. There were also two wicker chairs with wood trim. I could not see but thought I caught a glimpse of Chrome. If they were bent Chrome looking like one continuous piece of tubing they could possibly be Cesca chairs designed in around 1920 very popular now as is the majority of Bauhaus furniture and very expensive.

Hello Maureno and Sarah, it’s another cracking find in Sweden!! I remember your Instagram, a few months back, showing pics from the series and I was totally tantalised and building up my excitement!!
This type of old school general shop/home shows a snapshot of a really cosy life. You can almost imagine passing motorists stopping and buying a sandwich, tins or fresh produce from the store. I’m sure the owner lived comfortably, given the upstairs accommodation, but I hope he didn’t work too hard and enjoyed his life too. I’m sure he was a likeable fellow and you can imagine him chatting causally and pleasantly to his customers.
The snus was really interesting, I’d never heard of that before but not being a smoker myself I don’t know if it’s anything like snuff. What a beauty of a stove too, I really loved the craftsmanship of it and with its fine, intricate details at the top.
Good work as always Maureno and your production and research is just unparalleled. You and Bros of Decay and Danny are my favourites and I doubt that will ever change. Wishing you fantastic success as you go from strength to strength.
    Much love and peace ❤️👍

it reminds me of a shop I went to back east when I was a little ten year old boy. that was over half a century ago. they had a elderly woman running it she lost part of her eyesight in a sandstorm her business depended a lot on the honesty of customers. thank you for bringing back warm memories.

Very quaint. I love small town stores that offer a little of everything. Very sad it is left to deteriorate with so much potential. The property is beautiful. This man was a very hard worker. Can you imagine how early he would get up to get the wood chopped, make the tea and stock his items? And prepare any sandwiches and meats needed for customers? And...the post? If those walls could speak they would have good thoughts and praise for Mr.R.
    Great explore.

A very charming village store and home, similar to a store where I grew up. It was operated by a Finnish couple who lived upstairs and sold everything from soup to nuts; in the middle of nowhere too. It made me feel a bit nostalgic.

Agradeço a legenda.

It looks like most of the furniture was from the 1930-1950’s with a few items from the 1980’s.
I was shocked to see the 1980’s items because it’s more of a particle board manufacturing. I don’t know why but I just did not think Europeans would have this in their homes.
I loved seeing the products and the little yellow out building was so cute. It looked like a miniature home.
I wished we could have seen a photo of the owner.
    Thanks

Heyy my dear Explomo friend Maureno, Again a great video to enjoy! - I already loved your wonderfully formulated introduction.
These shops like the abandoned one you were exploring in Sweden, had somehow a complete own and cozy charm. You
could buy there whatever you required for your every day life, and there was always a moment for a nice chat with the shop keeper
or /and other customers in that shop. In this respect the social function for the local population of such a shop was highly significant,
comparable to the local church, where you also could meet and have a nice chat after the church service of such a small village
or countryside place. - I also liked the part of your explore, where you were showing us the flat of the former owners.
Still very pristine looking rooms with such a cozy atmosphere and a remarkable combination of antique and more modern
furniture and other items! - Your tender and very respectful approach to the probable personal history of the former owners
as well as your deeply reflected thoughts, how the life there might have looked like, is always overwhelming, and I am entirely
touched. - That is the typical classy quality of Explomo, which makes your videos ever so unique. - Wishing you all the best, dear bro,
peace and much love. - Many greetings also to Remon. - Blessings and kindest regards from fairly warm and sunny Switzerland.

That telephone stand was from back in the day when you only had one phone in the house, so you placed it where everyone could sit and use it. It was an upgrade from the original phones that were hung on the wall and you had to stand and talk. My college dorm had only one wall phone for the entire hall. I could have really used a cell phone back then! Scary how we all traveled long distances with no phone at all!

The thing that looks like a toaster (5:53) is a toaster. We had the exact same model when I was young. Very "child friendly" design ;-). It worked great but you had to turn the bread around half-time :-). Brings up some positive childhood memories. About snus (try to say snooze) it's a great product. Sad that it's not allowed for sale in the rest of the EU. It has helped many people stop smoking and has a lot fewer risks for your health. If you like the taste of tobacco, which I do, it also tastes great. The "giant stove" in the corner is called "kakelugn". The inside is like a labyrinth. The smoke will pass trough this labyrinth and warm up the bricks. It will keep its' warmth long after the fire dies out.

The chair upstairs with the red & black telephone on it is a telephone chair. You sat down to take your call and the telephone book plus paper & pencil for notes was kept in the drawer. Back in the day...at least where I lived the telephones were either on the wall in the kitchen, on the telephone chair, little shelves attached to the wall or in some homes there was a cubby hole cut into the wall that was decorated nicely where the phone would sit. And some times in the barn to

Also called dip and/or spit😬 but basically chewing tobacco…

It's a telephone table, with the striped cushion. When landlines were the only phones and usually homes has 1 phone only. You could sit and talk.

Unfortunately those old shops doesn’t really exist here in Sweden anymore. The few that’s left will eventually close when the owners getting to old to manage anymore. Also people rather shop at the supermarket where prices are cheaper. I wish there was more of them left, they was much more personal then the big supermarkets.

This was a magnificent store and home. I wonder if Mr A had no family to take care of his home. You kept saying family lived upstairs but there appeared to only be one bedroom and you also said he lived alone.
