Dude you don't understand how much I and others appreciate you learning and teaching these songs!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the kind words and support - I'm just happy to share it round :)
I had no idea they were stuttering the guitars like that. New appreciation for a song I’ve listened to a thousand times at least. Thanks.
Yeah it's a really cool technique isn't it :)
why are you so underrated, these tutorials are literally the best i've ever seen. no idea how you make it so easy
Thanks for such a kind comment and I'm really glad you're finding the tutorials so helpful! :)

Thanks so much! Will do :)
I love you so much Dave.
Thank you! Glad you found the tutorial helpful :)
Thankyou heaps! Such a beautiful sounding song. I just ordered a looper pedal so I can play all the outro
You're welcome :) that's awesome about the looper, that'll be a big help!
Thanks for this 🤍
My pleasure :)
Haha I just learned it now as my first song/ riff/ first thing on guitar and it took me two hours to be able to play it consistently 😂
Hey that's awesome! Great pick for a first riff. When you're starting out just take everything slowly and reinforce the right things. Good luck on your guitar journey! :)
@@davedoingguitar thanks man, yeah I know I just wanted something not too hard to learn so I can’t actually play something else than smoke on the water😂
so I get more into actually wanting to learn, thanks for the video
@@thomasgray8890 my pleasure, glad I could help kickstart it for you :)
You should do more American Football songs I love playing them
oh yeah yeah about to start learning Stay Home to make a video for. Thought it would be apt for this current time
@@davedoingguitar definitely! Can't wait to see the video
soild guitar teaching bro thank yoi
My pleasure Jordan, thanks for your support :)
Do you know some video of the drums or something like that i can use to record all strings parts? If you want to collab with some guitar would be great... ill keep searching
Great!!! More american football stuff pls!!
Should have a tutorial for Stay Home ready very soon!
Thanks! How did you figure out how to play this song? I had been trying for months and couldn't figure out I had to change to open A.
You're welcome :) from memory i learned from a mixture of some pre-existing tabs and just listening to the track. The booklet in the CD I have also has a few notes about it and confirms the tuning which is handy :)
the video is as great as the music thanks !
Thank you! :)
I played this in new standard tuning with capo on the 2nd fret
Can you please uploud ur cover version of this with the both guitars because im genuinely confused how the parts fuse together ! Like part 1 guitar 1 you say to play the riff 4 times n then other part 5? when i listen to the song i cant hear that at all just ahhh id love some clarification but so far i love everything!
Hey Janet, just listened back through my explanation. The example of Part 1 Gtr 1 I give from 1:14-1:36 contains one riff with two sections. The first section of this riff is repeated 4 times, and the second section (heard at 1:30 in the example) has the different bass notes with the repeating notes on the 5th string. These two sections make up the whole riff or 1 phrase. This whole riff/phrase is then repeated 5 times before you get to the long droney outro section. So yeah you've got the riff/phrase in two halves - the first half you're repeating the same thing 4 times (then adding the second half) - and this phrase is repeated 5 times which is where the confusion arose for you. It probably wasn't the clearest explanation in the video from me haha. Does that help clear things up for you?
Also I'm glad you love learning these AF tunes haha :)
What mic for your voice are you using? Really good audio quality
Does anyone know what bpm this song is in?
0:32
quick question! starting from maybe 7 seconds into the song, that’s the offbeat? and from there i have to time it correctly with the song? or is it another part?
The first guitar we hear is the offbeat one, so when the rest of the band kicks in it sounds like it starts at a weird time.
@@davedoingguitarthank you! love your videos
@@singhslimes7583 thanks so much! :)
What tunning did you use in this song? DADAC#E or no....?
Correct. Tuning is written in the description and shown at 0:20
What would you call this tuning?
Maybe like Aadd4 tuning or something? Not too sure haha
What effects are you using here?
Hey Squam Ham!
I've probably just got on a small amount of reverb and maybe a very low drive but it sounds pretty clean. My reverb comes from a Strymon Flint and the drive, if any, is from a Holy Fire by Creation Audio Labs :)
@@davedoingguitar Awesome! I need to buy some reverb eventually. I'm completely pedalless at the moment, but effects have always fascinated me
Squam Ham it’s a slippery slope, once you start getting a few you don’t stop haha. But it’s great fun and there are so many out there 👍
american football is such a good band lol
I've always thought the part 1 is bass
Nah no bass in this track, just the two guitars. It is low though so sounds a bit like it
Dude love the videos but lowkey you should speak up a bit lol💖
Duly noted haha 👍
