    Tried the second method for my last Windows 10 security update. It let me, took ages, then asked me to reboot. When it rebooted, it looked like it was installing an update. When I then checked, the update was back! What am I doing wrong?

    Great and highly formative video, the picture is crisp clear and the narration is simple and easy to follow The instruction works perfectly for removing desired latest update however, Windows 10 keep reinstalling the update back again. Is there is a way to permanently stop Windows 10 from re-installing updates the user do not want?

    Thanks for you time and channel. As soon as I see a new win update in my notifications. I pause it for about 2 to 3 weeks, otherwise it will go thru the process on off hours. I'm running an older Win7 with upgrade to win10. Computer believe it or not is still fast. 10gigs of ram helps. My problem is 9 out of 10 updates hang at 100%. Then I have to go thru the process of turning on and off my computer until it decides either to fix it, or uninstall the last update. I think the last fix it did was remove any corrupt files and rebooted putting the latest updates in. GO FIGURE! So I did a SFC scannow and came up with no errors. Also says "no need to do chkdsk command" Well I'll see what happens the next win10 update.

    Good video! However if the user runs the dism service command that ends with /resetbase updates cannot be uninstalled because it removes the installation backup files for all updates that are present but will not affect future updates unless the command is used afterwards.

    I am having a problem with this... Two days ago there was a windows update that screwed up my sound, which has become a reoccurring thing every other update now for the past few months.
    But the problem is, the update does not show up in the "installed updates" list,
    and it does not show up in the "Command Prompt" either.
    And when I tried to write our the command for the code, I was simply told that there is no such update installed.
    Then when I click it, and it leads me to support website for Microsoft, and then to the update catalog. The last time this update was made May 2021.... Yet now this phantom update is messing with me sound.
    God I love Microsoft. Such an amazing company that makes amazing products. I truly love them so very very much.

    • @Hugebull
      @Hugebull 2 года назад

      And to continue further, when I try to manually install it. I get a message that a later version of the update already installed, and so the setup will just exit. Leaving me completely unable to uninstall the update, and leaving me completely unable to reinstall the update.
      I love Microsoft.

    Unninstalling doesn't always work, your other option is to download the windows 10 upgrade tool and update it that way, overwriting your old installation with the new one with the option to keep your files, and it's fixed.

      Late on a reply, but I had a similar issue with mine. The problem is, I can’t even get to the start menu to go through those options. Long story short I was able to get to a point where I could reinstall windows through an outside source ie USB or disk. 60 bucks later it’s fixed.

      @ciuciulala1210 Thank u so much for this comment!! I was really desperate and tried a lot of diffent stuff including reinstalling Windows from my pc, but nothing worked to get my computer to update, and was thinking the BIOS might be too old for the last recent update of Windows 10. But this upgrade win 10 tool, did the job finally! So i'm very appreciative and this is the best comment of the year (2024) for me already, and it's only January !
