    Bonnie, THANK-YOU so much for explaining, at the 4:36 minute mark, doing 2 single crochet stitches in the same chain stitch once you've turned to start the 2nd row. I've been planning a 10 Chevron pattern aphgan, yet, no crochet channel EVER explained that turn stitching process. They'd ALWAYS "gloss" right over it!🥺😵 My pattern is 25 single crochet stitches per Chevron! Stay on pattern on help the "newb"s like me. I'm 58 & have been crocheting since I was 5 years old. Left handedly here and I crochet left to right (backwards). Doug

      @@BonnieBayCrochet Bonnie, Thank you.
      Sorry for your loss as well.
      Losing a parent is difficult no matter how old we are, and losing our moms, well, it has been difficult for me. My sisters (2) and I were very close to my mom (and dad too, I was a daddy's girl) but there's just something about losing your mom that is so difficult, for most of us, I think. I will say that I do miss her every day. She spent time with all three of us, and we saw each other daily. (we all live pretty close to each other)
      I just watched your video again, and I've made 6 rows already!!! I am so thrilled.
      My youngest sister's 45th Wedding Anniversary is in July, and I am going to make a couch throw for her using this stitch. Thought about using her wedding colors, but not sure it would go with her living room (LOL!)
      After making that, I am going to make another Ripple Blanket for my older sister for Christmas.
      I can't wait to try some more of your projects!!!

    I am sooooo happy you posted this, as I found a similar pattern in a bulk yarn and being a beginner did not know how to change the yar weight, searched for you and there it is!!! Do you think this would work well in an hombre or multi stripe yarn? or does it look best in the way you did it.. Thank you can't wait to start. I will more than likely look for a med weight #4 yarn and the appropriate needle size would I need to go up in the needle size?

    • @BonnieBayCrochet
      @BonnieBayCrochet  3 года назад

      Yes, I would bump up the crochet hook/needle size to match your yarn. A size I (or 9/5.00mm) should work well with a worsted weight yarn. This pattern can be varied in so many ways. Using contrasting colors to show off the chevrons works best. You can vary the width of the stripes too.

Almost all go "downhill" first. I wonder why that is??? I mean, Jack & Jill went up the hill first before tumbling down. I haven't figured out how to modify ripple patterns to go uphill first since the beginning & ending of rows is so critical.

    Hi, how much yarn do you need to make this blanket. You mentioned 2 different totals?
    Also what size is the blanket?
    Thanks D Stevens

    • @BonnieBayCrochet

      Great question! You can, but the ripple pattern won't show nearly as much. This really works best with at least 2 contrasting colors of yarn.

    I got confused at the start of row 2 first you say skip one and then sc in next 7 then you say skip 2 and sc in next 7 then 3 sc at the top but I'm at the bottom. Should the skip one on be there?

    • @BonnieBayCrochet
      @BonnieBayCrochet  3 года назад

      Thank you for pointing this out to me TammyH 730! This is in the process of being corrected. For Rows 2 through the end of the project, you should skip 2 stitches in the valley of the chevrons. I'm so sorry this was so confusing. Thanks in advance for your patience.

      I understand Janice. I generally don't count them as stitches, but the Craft Yarn Council of American (as well as other professional publishers) do count them as stitches. I just like to be clear as to how I treat them in stitch counts.
