Yep. There is a book called “In the Garden of Beasts”, written by the US ambassador to Germany in the 1930s. He described in detail how Germany devolved from a democratic republic to a totalitarian cult of personality. There are WAY too many parallels between that time and place and what the Trump cult is doing in our present reality. We’re basically where Germany was in 1935, and the process is accelerating.

I would argue that the best part of this Trump rally is not having to see Trump.
The Trump campaign doesn't have the money to rent indoor venues for his rallies. That's the reason for all of these outdoor events he keeps trying to have. It's a lot cheaper for them to rent out empty fields or parking lots than it is to rent an actual venue, like a stadium, or arena, or whatever type of building would have a large enough room to hold everyone.
What's the difference they don't pay anyway.
When enough of his followers become few enough, he might manage with a small cottage.

I was on a friend's sailboat in the Stockholm Archipelago, Sweden, as I watched trump try to send hurricane Dorian to Alabama with his Sharpie.
