- With our second MXT575 radio abruptly quit working and that manufacturer not responding to my warranty inquiries. We decided it was time to look elsewhere. We like what we saw with the @RuggedRadios G1 Adventure Series so we decided to give it a try. Since we already had the antenna cable and antenna mounted from the previous radios, we did not do a step by step install. Keep checking back for updates as we use and get to know this radio.

I wonder who the manufacturer of this radio is? That would tell you how the quality is.
I like the whole waterproof idea, and am glad to see some videos coming out about it.
As far as power goes. If you increase you power 4 time, you will get only 1 more s-unit.
So 50W / 4 ( 6 db ) = 12.5 W.
You could run a 12.5W radio, and only be 1 S unit down from the full 50W, so a little power difference is just not that important.
Now Antennas, that's important. Get that right!

Who do you type in a specific frecuency.
You don't do that on most GMRS radios. Midlands and Rugged, you just select a channel.
How do you feel about it now after 5 months ??
Works great! I love it. I used it in TN/KY back in October and a few times at Badlands in IN since the install. Performs just as well as the MXT575 IMO.
@@BirdDogOffRoadAdventures Im in a sxs, main concern is the built in speaker did it feel loud enough? Last radio i had was too quiet
@@turbo558 hmm, I don’t know about that since I don’t have a sxs, which I imagine is a lot louder. It’s comparable to the Midland units
