    I've lived in Burlingtons core for 15 years and above the QEW for the rest of my life. I'm getting out of Burlington. I feel terrible for the people buying the current crop of condos. The noise is unbelievable. Drunks, "Singing Tree", constant noise from both expensive sports cars and cheap mods, and nearly constant construction for the passed 4 years with more years to come.

      I can absolutely appreciate the changes that our downtown community have had to live with in recent years. As someone who's lived close to downtown Burlington for the majority of my life, those changes can definitely pain those who remember how quaint our adorable downtown was in those years-gone-by. The downside to being near the Toronto is the inevitable population growth -- it's a big part of Burlington's history as well.
      When I was growing up there were still farmers fields everywhere north of Upper Middle... so much has changed but luckily there are still some smaller towns/cities nearby to catch up on that slower pace to life. Hopefully wherever you end up settling brings you the same joy Burlington once did as well 💛 Thanks so much for watching & taking the time to comment 🙏

      Hi Bryan -- thanks so much for watching! Burlington is located in a strong commuting corridor which opens up opprotunities from Hamilton through Mississauga & Toronto. Here in Burlington there are business oprotunities in the workforce as well as the McMaster DeGroote School of Business -- Ron Joyce Campus, but you're also centrally located between 4 college campuses (like Mohawk or Sheridan). There are a number of opportunities in a diverse spectrum of fields -- if you want to email me with some specifics, I'll try to tailor these broad suggestions a bit more 😊 hello@GenuineRealtor.com

    How much would the average detach run us in downtown?

    • @TheGenuineRealtors
      @TheGenuineRealtors  3 года назад

      True downtown over $1M but the central neighbourhood which includes downtown is much bigger & you can find detached homes as low as $825kish
      Let me know if you’d like me to email you some more information. 😊 Hello@GenuineRealtor.com

    What are teaching K-12 teaching opportunities like here? I am a special education teacher moving from the USA next year. What would you say the average rent is like for a one bedroom apartment? Thanks in advance!

    • @TheGenuineRealtors

      Hi Emily! Sorry I didn’t see your comment come through until today - thanks so much for watching & taking the time to reach out!
      So rent in Central/Downtown varies greatly depending on what your looking for/budget.
      There are some older rental buildings that offer true 1 bedroom apartments walking distance to downtown for just over $1,200 a month. Alternatively you might be able to find an apartment suit in a home/duplex for just under $1,200/month (very rare) or you can find more modern rentals in the newer buildings for $1,500+
      Teaching jobs in the area very greatly & most teachers commute to another city based on availability of jobs.
      Most of the people I know who went through teachers college in recent years have not found full time positions & are still on the sub lists but if you’re seriously considering a move I can do some digging on this to help shed some light ☺️
      Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out with any questions 😄

    what about Fearmans Pork Inc and his desire to make it more of a stink city?

    • @TheGenuineRealtors
      @TheGenuineRealtors  3 года назад +1

      Eduardo Argueta that facility is just shy of 10 km away from Downtown (which is what this video is about).
      There are also only a handful of homes in that area... the vast majority of the area around there is commercial space.
      I haven’t heard of any expansion plans so I’m not sure how he’s going to make it “more” stinky but for those few people who live nearby, it’s unfortunately one of factor they need to consider.

    How much does rent cost?

    • @TheGenuineRealtors
      @TheGenuineRealtors  3 года назад

      It will depend on what you are looking for... rent is often higher than other areas in the city. If you let me know what you are looking for I can better answer that question for you.

      @@TheGenuineRealtors thank you very much for your prompt response, I am currently planning to relocate with my family (husband and daughter) to Canada, so as an aspiring immigrant, Burlington is on my list of neighborhoods but I am trying to do a pre-search on the cost of accommodation in Burlington and Ontario generally.
