The TT-02 kit is a fun kit to build. I had the TT-02 chassis as well as the TA-05R and loved both. Awesome and clean build. Im thinking about getting another one to build.
Great video! I am starting my build tonight. Local shop out here runs a monthly Fun Rally Series and most guys run the TT02 and the XV01. Dirt and rocks sure are a problem. One guy had plastic pieces screwed in to block a lot of the chassis. I plan on making a mesh cover held down with Velcro. It will still breath but blocks debris. They make a kit for a lot of bigger more expensive vehicles like Traxxas abs it works well. Basically a breathable inner chassis cover. Would do wonders on these little guys I think. Again great vid. Thanks for sharing!
Everyone who gets that in his feed, and is thinking or currently running his TT02 like that, please get the Tamiya 22023 TT-02 Chassis Cover Set! It costs around 11 USD and will save you a lot of headaches! Not all of them but a lot of them😅 Literally the best upgrade on my TT02 so far.
I only do this whenever I run it on the dirt ground. It was only for filling purpose. Otherwise I try to avoid running it on dirt. I probably wouldn’t take the entire thing apart, if I didn’t use ball bearings and high grade oil damper.. plastic bushings are much easier to maintain.
Great video bro...I love these Tamiya cars...but I run it only on pavement ( on road performance) they are so expensive in Brazil and hard to find parts
Thank you very much! Obrigado! Yes, I understand. I only do this when I filming for RUclips lol It takes all day to clean it afterward, but I enjoy doing it lol
My most successful video hits 10k views!! Many thanks to everyone who’s watching my videos!!! I’m not doing it for the money, but it sure feels good to have so many viewers! Happy RCing everyone!
Hi! great video! How about the quality of the tt02 chassis? I am between this chassis and the kyosho fazer mk2..because both have 2 differentials, but I don't know which one will have more resistance and longevity, which of the 2 will resist, more speed, without damaging, differentials, gears, arrows ... greetings and a strong hug!
First of all, thanks the compliment! For the TT02, if you build it well. It’s not a bad starter machine. Kyosho Fazer Mk2.. it’s coast more, but i think it’s better and much more robust machine. If you don’t mind spend more. You might want to go for the Mk2. But I’m more big fan of Tamiya. I hope my comment help you decide which car you want..
One more thing. If you’re getting TT02. You might want to spend more money getting all the hop-up parts which that’s gonna coast more than the car it self. Than it will comparable to MK2. But I think you can have a lots fun even with minimal option parts to start with.
Thanks! Yes, it is a very get dirty machine lol, but I love the process of building and disassemble. Those dampers are from Tamiya that I bought about 25 years ago at RC store in Japan. I don't know the item # for it though. Sorry..
@@simpleisthebest73 Thank you you feedback. I did not recognize them as any option on the market today but that explains it, they seem to perform very well.
@@simpleisthebest73 id say you're "restoring" it as you did re build the suspension and re oiled all parts that needed it. As you "restored" it to 100% functionality.

Yes, it is. I own four of Tt02 myself.
I'm currently building my first TT-02, really enjoying it. Hope my Subaru body turns out as nicely as yours did!
Thanks for your comment. Yes, Tt02 is easy and fun build entry level kit. I'm sure you did good with your kit. Happy RCing my friend.

Tamiya 22023 TT-02 Chassis Cover Set
You have done a great job of cleaning & restoring TT02 car it looks great,😀😀😀
Thank you very much!!!
Nice video, nice car, nice suspension
Thanks! Please share my video to others, and make sure to subscribe to my channel 😁🙏
With my own Tamiya Impreza kit on the way, it's good to know how easily the chassis can be laden with gravel when driving outdoors.
5K views!! Thanks everyone!!!

Unfortunately, that inner chassis cover came out way after this run 😅
Great camera work 👍
😊 thanks!
How to clean TT02: pretty much takes the entire thing apart. I just did this myself this past weekend! Time to invest in a shroud or something.

I built this bone in 2018, i put actual bearings and a brushless system thing moves

Thank you for this video. What servo are you using? I want to build a TT02 Rally for my first RC car.
Thank you for your comment and watching my video! I'm using standard Futaba 3003 servo.
With all the RTR vehicles today, not many remember having to build a radio control car from a kit. Was that a Wheely King in the back ground?
You mean the wild willy2? Yes, that's the same playground that where I run the WW2.
Is it bad tht id rather build a kit than get an rtr if tht car or truck has an option
@@DaPandas_Rcs I never buy rtr rc cars. I enjoy more put things together and repair..
@@simpleisthebest73 That is a big advantage of buying a kit. If something breaks you already know how to take it apart and rebuild it.
이너바디..필요하실듯하네요ㅋㅋㅋ
그러게 말입니다 ㅎㅎㅎ
What Technik is inside. Motor, servo?
It's got super stock TZ brushed motor, hobbywing 1060 ESC, Futaba standard servo. Thank you!

what suspension are you using and would you recommend a 70mm suspension for a rally build tt-02?
I'm using old tamiya hop up aluminum damper set. I believe they are 55mm..
Super 👍
isn't wd40 bad for plastics?
as far as i know it makes the plastics somehow brittle.
I'm not sure.. I only use it to clean up the metal parts.. I think should be fine with ABS parts..
Great run! Yeah the TT-02 are a pain to clean but you did a great job.

@@rcdays2595 yes, it's amazing that still works very well even after over 2 decades.
What type of dampers are on this beast?
These are Tamiya aluminum damper set that I got from Japan 25 years ago. Sorry I don't have the part numbers..
53280 super low friction shocks (for ta03)
Great vid. Noticed the crack in the diff casing at 3:43. Did you spot this when cleaning. 👍🏼
You didnt restore anything you just cleaned it
Perhaps I don't understand the meaning of "restore" lol sorry for that. I didn't know that really matters to someone...
