That kit was my 36th RC build. It is 1 of my favorite models. My GF says I say that about every one of my models...and she's right, but that car is a fun build and when upgraded, it is one of the most balanced and most fun cars to drive. I love mine.
thanks for this build series. I'm about to build my first RC car kit which is going to be a TT-02B. and a lot of these extra parts are what I was looking to get for my build. Most of these will work in the TT-02B as well. This helps me to know exactly what I need.
Some may not fit. If the B is the "buggy" then some of the parts are unique for that version. I actually ran into this in the build, where I ordered hubs for the B and they did not fit on mine. so just double-check if you need a specific "B" version for your build. Glad you liked the series!
@@JohnBattistini00 Yup, B is for buggy. I'm getting a Neo Scorcher. I saw the complications you endured, and its helped me to look a little more closer at some parts. thanks for sharing, even your messups and mixups.
Even when you cant see the motor mount, is very useful. I had a issue with my ESC, the motor overheat and melt all the plastic mount. You can't see the metal mount but is a great update
@@Nordlicht05 Really I don't think that make the difference. The metal one is aluminium, very light and is not a big part. The difference in weight are almost insignificant in this case. I don't think we can see a diference in performance. Really
Awsome wife man ! Think my wife's getting my first drift build with all the questions, I love your passion man ! I'll keep watching as I'm about to fit my first tamiya together on my off season from work, cheers! The intro you get me pumped you need more subs
I do. There is a list of all the parts in the description of each video but the one on the final Backyard Bash should detail everything that was used for the entire build. Here's a link to that video: ruclips.net/video/84M_gePp7Wo/видео.html
Not for a long time. My kids were into it when they were younger, but now it just sits there. I don't know of any place the race them near me. Maybe in Japan?
@@JohnBattistini00 that sounds awesome, maybe once I’m vaccinated we can do something. I must say, seeing what you made with your oldest (APEX episode), I want a 3D printer. My son would ask me for a dinosaur, but throw a tantrum cause it’s so slow. 2 year olds don’t have great patience.
I have links to most of the parts in the video descriptions, check out the full descriptions on the build videos and you should be bale to find a link.
I haven't tried personally, but I don't see when you couldn't if the KV of the motor isn't too crazy. There are lots of other builds I have seen on youtube that drop in a brushless with the stock diffs.

@@assembly_language3948 Cool. Let me know how it turns out.
Awesome video. I need to get some more upgrades for mine. I've only added a bearing kit and the aluminum drive shaft so far.
Great video!!
Thanks!
I'm getting this kit soon. I got the yeah racing hop up kit for it.
Awesome, let me know how it goes!

Oh wow. That’s crazy. Thanks for the tip. Glad I upgraded!!
Plus for plastic is if you don't break it, It's light. On the right places the car will be faster.

@John Battistini love when youtubers respond :) thanks following ur build for my tt02 and brought some upgrades I have the gtr. Thanks again
Great first episode, I just ordered my kit and will be doing the upgrades too!. I hope your wife hasn't divorced you!
Ha, not yet!
Great video, thanks for the help!
Glad you liked it.
Awesome car looks fun
Informative video! friend
Have a nice day

Thank you 👍
Hi. Do you have a parts list (for the upgraded parts you used to replace stock) for this build?
I do. There is a list of all the parts in the description of each video but the one on the final Backyard Bash should detail everything that was used for the entire build. Here's a link to that video: ruclips.net/video/84M_gePp7Wo/видео.html
Also, I think you do a good job explaining the steps.
Thanks.
I see the mini 4wd track, box in the background. Do you run them, do you know of any clubs?
Not for a long time. My kids were into it when they were younger, but now it just sits there. I don't know of any place the race them near me. Maybe in Japan?
If I am to upgrade the plastic parts of my tt02 chassis, which part am I to upgrade first since I can't afford to buy all the upgrades at once?
Another good episode, your getting good at this video thing.
Thanks. When are you coming over to guest star in one of them?

I would have loved to find the oil filled diffs, didn't see those in my search for hop up parts
I think I got them from RC Mart but through eBay since they tend to have free shipping on their eBay stuff. But honestly I don’t remember.
My kit i never had to put the shafts in the differentials with pens are they different TT02 Kits.
Not sure honestly but I didn’t build the kit supplied diffs. I used the Tamiya oil filled hop up ones. That may be why it was different from yours.
I am trying to find metal diffs that u used

Super helpful
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@JohnBattistini00 seriously helped me troubleshoot everything
That’s amazing. So glad.
do you know what bearing kit you ordered? Fast Eddy has multiple kits for this one. Just wondering what kit you ordered? Thank you. great series.
Pretty sure it was this one:
Tamiya Subaru Impreza Monte-Carlo `99 (TT-02) Sealed Bearing Kit

Can you still use the stock differential with a brushless motor or do you absolutely need the hop up differential?
I haven't tried personally, but I don't see when you couldn't if the KV of the motor isn't too crazy. There are lots of other builds I have seen on youtube that drop in a brushless with the stock diffs.
Does this kit come with the remote control?
It does not. You need to supply your own remote and battery.
i think i'll go ball diffs, i can see the oil leaking out of those diffs making a real mess
No leaks. They seal with a ring to keep it all inside. You do have to change them once in a while but they don’t leak at all so far.
Does it come with the screws?
Not sure what you are referring to, but all Tamiya kits come with the screws needed to build them.
You just gab the part and twist it till it breaks off................
I think so.
do you think that is a good way to remove parts from a gate?
@@plethman3669 Personally I like to use snips, but I mean ripping it off works too.
