A question regarding the Flight Seat Pro. How comfortable is the seat compared to your old car seat? I know this is somewhat subjective. I have a very small rig in my workshop which uses a carseat as well and I've looked at the Flight Seat Pro but the padding looks a bit thin at least on the backrest.
I'd say the Volvo seat I had was more comfortable. It's still premium car seat. But I prefer this one myself mostly because the center cutout and it also has a ton of mounting points for anything I might want to do in the future.
I like this cockpit. I really don't like the effort required to set up my Virpil gear every time I want to play ED. Something like this would make the process easier.
During the first 10 minutes I kept thinking, "That's cool, but there's no way he's giving up the custom build for this." I'm glad you were able to include the new seat. :)
You know, instead of cutting, you could just have reversed the seat and/or mirrored the chassis sides (so that the extruding sides would point backwards/inwards)
I would say the car seat was more comfortable. This is good enough and otherwise better for my setup. The central joystick mounting options being a good thing.
I could have, but I liked the frame itself, it has lots of mounting points I can use in the future. And the biggest benefit (that the Volvo seat didn't have) was the better support for center mounted joystick: both the indent and also the mounting options.
the price is crazy you could, and i have built one out of extruded aluminium, for the same money and its lot more solid and flexible in layout. hate the cockpit but love your videos, keep but the great work.
I can understand that. Most of the time, building something will be cheaper. But this feels like a solid setup for people who don't want to build one themselves.

Came and thought I would be envious of your simpit, left with a dread feeling that I should buy more tools for woodwork.

If you have the room and like flight / space simulators, a cockpit really is a must. :D
Great video and love the series overall! Laughed really hard when you pulled out the angle grinder 😂
Thanks! :D

Yeah, not goving it up. :D But the new seat is hand going forward.

Now that you mention it, perhaps I should have tried it first. 😅
Impressive!
Next Level must have died a little when you took an angle grinder to their frame lol. Looks nice!
Thanks! :D
But does it have an ejection system? 😉
is it more comfortable than a car seat or is it for simulation. dont look more confortable though.

What were the issues with the volvo seat?
It's Volvo. :D
Been saying to Parrot that he should get a seat with air conditioning ;)
Wait, couldn't you have used your existing setup and just swapped the seats out, instead of (ab)using their stand/frame?
